I just picked up all my tethers because they were causing me incredible lag and just like when you make a new set of tethers there are 11 total 4 on the top 3 in the middle and 4 on the bottom in the backpack. but when I add a 12th tether it gets erased from existence. There is not a new set of 1 tethers created in an empty slot in my backpack. I can take out the set already in my backpack and the 12th tether will create a new set with one tether in it. but that defeats the purpose. I should be able to put them all in my bag and be able to get any of them back.

Just found this issue on xbox. Crafted a few sets then picked up my existing set, and it's gone. My OCD made me pick up the rest to delete them so that I had an even set.

Personally, not that big of a problem, but it probably shouldn't happen.

Prelim. testing, I have found that placing tethers in either of the side slots DOES NOT effect this. Will continue to play around and post as I find new things.

So here's what's up.

Moving things in the inventory is how this is effected. For some reason or another, tethers will only place themselves in the top-left-most slot of the 4x2 grid. You can place and use the tethers from any slot, including the two on the sides, but they will not return to those slots after being moved. Below for my method...

For reference, I'm going to number the slots in order:(left side: 1)(right side: 2)(top-left - bottom-left in order: 3, 4, 5, 6)(top-right - bottom-right in order: 7, 8, 9, 10)

First, I made two sets of tethers and an oganic material (just to occupy a spot). Then I placed the organic material in slot 6 and the tethers in slots 1 and 10. With this set up, the tethers were being taken from slot 1 until I had no tethers left in that slot, then they began from the second set. No brainer. However, I only placed three tethers from slot 10. When I went to retrieve them, they began resetting in slot 3. Next I moved slot 3 with three tethers in it to slot 7, and slot 10 to slot 3. From there, and to my formed hypothesis, the three I picked up returned to the slot 3 tethers. Using that, I switched them again (the tethers) back to slot 10 and the new set back to 3, and acquired the rest of the tethers. Then I reset my pack back to the way it was, except I moved the organic in slot 6 to slot 3. (So, slots 1 and 10 have full sets of tethers and slot 3 has the organic) At this point, I realized I was most likely right, and began placing tethers again. This time, however, even with the three missing from slot 10 and the stack removed from slot one, no tethers were being added to slot 10.

So, in conclusion, it is possible to return all tethers to your inventory, but they must be moved in your inventory first to slot 3 (top-left, not the side) before re-acquiring them, and it will work for any set of tethers that has at least on missing tether.

I've noticed the same problem when running out of tethers. If the top left slot is full after running out of tethers, I cannot reclaim my old tethers, they just disappear. I just need to remind myself to keep that slot open when reclaiming tethers until the glitch is fixed.
