[Merged] Vehicle Issues

This is known to also happen in single player. For now, beware digging close to your vehicle, as digging/drilling seems to "soften" the ground around you - at least for the vehicles.

Doesn't seem to make a difference which tool is used...

This also, for now, completely ruined vehicle-front mounted drills as far as I noticed.

yeah, now it happens even in single player for me, but i found a way to use it anyway, you just have to turn on and off the drill every like 2 seconds ^^ not as practical as intended but it kinda works ūüėÉ

I was in my friend's game with our two trains each has 3 large rovers.

I logged in and couldn't see the rovers except for 1. I ran around and came back still only 1. My friend could see all 6. I jumped into the visible rover and suddenly the 2 attached rovers disappeared for him. Sad for our lost storage and centrifuge ... thank goodness the rtg was on the visible one... so that's not lost...

1.0.9 - Steam

The game will crash when trying to use the drill on a large rover if a drill bit (I've only tried with tier 3) and a zebra ball are attached to adjacent slots on the rover. Once the zebra ball is removed or placed elsewhere the problem goes away.

To summarize I can't control a vehicle while the front drill is active.

I have tested this on all vehicles, with all three drills, that can have a drill in the front; tractor, medium rover, and Large rover,  and they have the same problem. As soon as I activate the drill with the C or V control, it starts drilling the terrain in front of the vehicle but the vehicle will no longer respond to any directional inputs, accelerate, reverse, left and right. The drill direction indicator still works correctly and I can drill up and down or level without issue. The vehicle will still roll down an incline as if it were in neutral but can't be stopped or steered while the drill is active. Changing the control input from absolute control has no effect, the vehicle will still not respond to direction input.

This problem has made my first adventure to the core of a planet endlessly frustrating, I have to pulse the drill on and off in order to change direction, and I am unable to stop or slow down when drilling at an angle. It makes for a very quick ride to the core, but getting back up is near impossible using the drill.

I am having this same issue on xbox.

I play exclusively on the Xbox One, and having the same issue. I have to turn off the drill before moving or changing direction. Also the camera view should be moved to the tractor hood. Not behind where every piece of crap is blocking your view.

In 1.0.9 on steam two terrible things happen in multilayer for me

1. Digging around any rover will make it sink into the ground until it's lost forever

2. Accidentally attaching winch which is on rover to stuff on the same rover will make it freak our forever and run away from you into low orbit

Hello, constantly your cars fail under the ground, in whole or in part. I noticed that only the wheels interact with the ground, we also penetrate the ground from the inside, I propose to focus the wheels not on one polygon (sphere) on the whole wheel, but on several small (spheres) along the edges, with a small distance between them, for example, one ball turned out to be underground, and the rest did not, when the movement began, he emerged from under the soil.

Impossible to ride with 4 big rovers. As soon as the fourth is attached the vehicle remains blocked. I play on one x. Other people have this problem?

We've had the same issue on PC in a shared game since yesterday on both the starting planet and Novus. The vehicles slowly start to sink in some cases as soon as you exit them and it can be almost impossible if not completely impossible to dig them back out. Alternatively you can get out and they suddenly fall through the world and can not be found at all, even by digging under them. This has happened with the tractor, buggy, and even the largest rover. In most cases they fell in or vanished near where I was digging even though it was on never-altered ground and once when it was on formerly dug an refilled, smoothed ground.

Summary:
1.0.13 - Steam - Rover glitches and impossibility of interaction

Description:
I was playing in multiplayer (3 people in a session),  the rover was very far from me, I approached and the crane remained stuck in a point (as in the image) despite the rover moving. After this, I sat down and the appearance of the rover and the components attached to it continued to be slightly processed. From this moment on I was no longer able to interact with any object. Also no interaction with F was possible, I could not collect objects or use the earth instrument. It was necessary to restart entirely the game because leaving to the menu and returning to the session was not enough.

Platform:
Steam

Version / Build Number:
1.0.13

Specifications:

Is the dev team still accepting/responding to these bug reports? This forum is labeled: Early Access +Game Preview.

Summary:

Tractor disappears after leaving the vicinity

Platform:
Steam

Version / Build Number:
1.0.13.0

Description:

I am building an East-West road across Atrox. I'm well aware that exiting a vehicle while on one of these terra-formed bridge will result in being spawned under it and that you will fall to your death, so I parked on a solid ledge in this tunnel I bored through a mountain side.

Image11.thumb.jpg.1710c63bd48c7961efdf2d523e1ddccb.jpg

I then built the bridge another 1-2 Km and when I ran back for air the tractor was gone. I then made a futile sprint for my base which was 1/4 the way around the globe. I came back with a rover to finish the job and parked some where I thought might be safer and this occurred when i came back:

Image2.thumb.jpg.6ca1dcea2d9ea83ebb5d992e8ee360ad.jpg

I'm thinking that the 2 bugs are related in some way. My guess is that the tractor's rotational position was reset when I got far enough from for it to be unloaded from memory which then caused it to get eaten by the terrain somehow.

Specifications:

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
  • CPU: Intel i3 8300 3.2Ghs x4
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 460
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 2400
  • Drive: 500GB SSD + 1.5 TB HDD

Today same problem.

Version: 1.0.14.0

If I move too far, but really not too far, from a player who is driving a rover when I get close to it the game will bugged.

I recorded the last 5 minutes of the game after finding the problem: (I apologize for the dead time of the loading screen, I didn't have time to edit the video :P)

The world is not loading correctly, I have problems getting on and off the vehicle. My partner sees my character sitting when I see myself walking. I can drive the rover even if I see myself on the ground.

Closing the session is not enough, to solve the problem I have to restart the game completely.

3 person multiplayer:

1. The tractor and trailers are buggy. Exiting an entering the vehicle causes the game to hang for a brief second for everyone else in game.

2. The tractor has dreams of being a spaceship with added cargo space. Upon entering vehicle, it tries for the stars and immediately launches itself and everything attached into the heavens. You can change the tractor's mind by exiting the vehicle mid launch and it will slowly calm down and come back home. This has happened on randomly throughout the last 30 hours of playtime.

3. The tractor also has dreams of participating in a rodeo like one of the stallions: Upon entering vehicle, the tractor and anything attached will slam itself several directions before calming down. If you try exiting the vehicle, it will try the same technique in different ways. This option happens randomly that I know of in different areas of Sylvas and with many different attachments.

4. Once, the tractor decided it wanted to levitate roughly 5 character heights above the ground. This happened when trying to enter the vehicle.

In fact I discovered it isn't lost forever, you can dig after it, and it'll be on the next cave underneat, just keep digging (worst case it'll be on planet core)
