[Merged] Vehicle Issues

Recommended Posts

I built a large rover and had to take cover before I could use it (Damn wind storms!). When the storm was over, the vehicle had two cranes imbedded into each other!

I had to tow it away from the vehicle bay and use a piece of dynamite on it to dislodge the cranes. They ended up a ways away in a pit, but vehicle was OK.

I didn't have crane selected on the vehicle bay, but large storage, and I still ended up with that result!

This is a new one for me. I have had issues all along with large rover trains floating up but remaining in contact with the ground on one end. Well, this time I had another very frustrating storm death and when I went back to where I had died, my fully loaded two-piece large rover train was simply gone. I restarted the game to no avail. I had no other option but to continue exploring on my west to east track. Imagine my surprise when a few kilometers further east I found my rovers floating nearby each other, almost out of sight up in the sky. I tried a number of things to pull them down, but the only thing I managed was to grab a single item off the back of one of the rovers. I could not otherwise affect them... When I last saw them (before I died) they were connected. In the sky, they were not.

When I restarted the game to take a printscreen image for this report, the rovers had disappeared. I guess this is what I can expect playing an alpha game. I lost a lot of material when one includes rovers, storage of both kinds, and the resources which populated those storage pieces.

I am fighting cancer and so spend all my time in bed. While I have had this game since it was first released, I have only really devoted significant awake time to it in the last two or three weeks. Having individual supplies and fully loaded rovers floating away makes it hard to invest so much time and energy into this game. Lack of a three-axis gps is also frustrating as corpses and vehicles can get lost.

On the other hand, vehicle control and movement are quite natural and excellent. If only the rovers did not float away.

This is still very much an alpha game. It makes it very frustrating and hard to play. Upgrades and bug fixes cannot happen soon enough. This game has a very similar feel to Minecraft but with a terrific scifi bent. I hope it survives to make it to full release.

PC version for me. I just tested a theory, attaching the vehicles to the base appears to lessen the chance that they'll sink into the ground. I did this before leaving for the moon and my Truck and Rover are both above-ground, safe and sound!

Xbox version. Always attach to base before I go anywhere as well. Really helps keep your rover from glitching out. Still jumps a bit when I get out.

So, I've had this happen twice on 2 different games that I have joined. I, as the second player, would be driving a rover, get out, and watch the rover just disappear. No clue as to why this happens and it happens so quickly that I can't get a screen shot of it. I have lost 2 rovers with 4 cars each complete with full large storage and medium storage on those full of material. Kinda scared to play this game with other people as I lose a lot of vehicles this way.

My vehicle is gone.

I was the host and my friend was the client.  We went out with 4 large rovers connected.  2 of them had 2 large storage units all filled with medium storage units.  The second large rover had a crane with a drill head and a large storage unit filled with medium storage units.  The front large rover had a single seat with a medium storage unit next to that (with five empty canisters and an inhibitor mod) and a large storage unit with a Medium battery, a medium wind turbine and two medium storage units on that.  The client got out of the single seat and the vehicle vanished.

[ PC - Steam ]

Hi all,

entering my medium rover and starting driving ended up in the chassis detaching from the wheels. I was able to quit the rover and the rover was not repositioned. Had to enter the rover again and drive above the wheels to "collect" them agian.

A minor bug occurred with both rover types - I got into them, and they wouldn't move. First time it happened, I simply got out and re-entered the rover (small). This time it moves, but the wheels wouldn't move (meaning they stayed still and the rover drove away from them). I then exited the rover to investigate and the second I got out, the rover started vibrating intensely and the wheels flew to them. It shook about for a few seconds, rose a few feet off the ground, and then the wheels seemed to find the right spots on the rover and attached. The rover then fell to the ground and worked normally. I don't know if my rover was simply possessed or it was a bug, but please sort this out. I like my game to be not spooky.

Happened to me also. Xbox one version.

rover appears to have glitched through the ground when reloading the base, found it about 50 meters below my base in a cave!

Same thing happened to me. I was in the truck when it saved. Then reloaded and the terrain sucked me an the truck into a cave. Lucky it was one I had teathered previous or I would have died perpetually.

A bug occurs when driving a two-rover convoy is a player client in the session and not directly the host.

We found that the secondary rover seems to remain stuck where it was parked while the main rover is able to get away. The two rovers remain connected and the feeding tube stretches out to follow the main rover.
Coming out from the rover, the whole train is rebounded to its final position, very often overturned.

I had the rover vehicle in the steam version, and i was collecting the research things. After a storm my 3 section rover was flipped over. When i got it flipped back over, it started spazzing out and flew into space, taking me with it.

This might be something someone has already said but there are a few issues with vehicles that I have experienced in this last week of playing. Seems that after either textures loading from a distance or when saving a game, the vehicles will glitch out and disappear. Two of the three experiences I've had, the vehicle was shot straight up into the atmosphere of the planet that I was one. The third experience, the truck disappeared underground and I found it stuck in the planet material hanging from the ceiling of a cave system right under my base. I'll try and post screenshots when I'm back home.

Last night with the recent update; a group of four were "testing" the three seat attachment on a large rover. After one of us sat in the three seat the rest of the 3 were glitched. Any time you pressed "E" to pull out a terrain tool or try and use something, you would be automatically teleported to the three seat.  It was possible to get in another seat by using alt/click on another vehicle, but the terrain tool was broken and would always lead to TP into the 3 seat.

IVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

Me and 2 other friends were starting a new game and just got the large rover with 3-seat. After going inside and out of the seats, it seems anytime you press the key to use your mining tool (ive tested it with other keys, whatever is for your mining tool, it links to it) and teleports you inside. This problem is avoidable, after fiddiling around with the control settings, but is still a major problem. It teleports you anytime, anywhere. Please fix this soon, as it can be extremely annoying esspecially if you and your friends are unaware of the issue.

Feb 2018 update introduced all of the physics issues with rovers that it was meant to address. No issues in my previous installation, now there are. When enter/exiting rover it will wildly jerk or flip all over the place, or shoot down into, and get stuck inside the ground. Couple of one-seats disappeared using a cursor mode just to move them around.

Using new save not old, brand new base. PC, Windows 10.

When I place the small solar panel on one of the two power ports (front and back) on the rover it is facing down and does not generate power. Otherwise, I haven't had major issues besides some of the infinite power bugs that are already being worked on (*Edit: Unless my issue is included in the issues being worked on*) :) I play on Steam Edition 0.6.1.0 running Windows 10. This game is even more fun than ever, excellent job System Era!20180224130037_1.thumb.jpg.b512de158c59539e4d1be3b4570ed109.jpg

In Version 0.6.1.0, there seems to be some power bug. I have two medium buggies and there's some weird power vacuum going on where they suck power from one another but I can continue driving even after having no power in either. Additionally, putting power into a cab, either of them, does nothing at first, the bars stay empty for a good 10 seconds or so before filling up (once they're separated). Is it possible the values for power are going into the negatives or something instead of stopping at zero?

Here's a recording of it:

So i have been playing Xbox one since the new update and just found a rather aggravating problem. I created a small two rover train and drove away from the base but the power stored in my rover started to decrease without me even in the rover train with it stationary as though my base was still attached and able to draw on its power. Also i found the only way to refill the power on the rovers without my base is now limited to a generator? I used to be able to put inbatches of power that i had harvested and it would refill the rover proportionally. Any help would be great! PS  im in a completely new game after the update.

Built two small rovers, one with a seat and storage and another with medium wind and solar. Connected them, and connected the front to the base. When disconnected, the rovers were seemingly still connected to the base as they were draining power at a high rate. In reality, no power was actually being sent to the base, meaning the power stored in the rover was being drained into nothing.

Minor problem: when I get out of the crane sometimes I end up stuck under the truck it's on, it might be related to the angle the crane is at when I get out.

Also when I get into the crane the breaks come off even if there's no one in the driver's seat.
