I am having this issue as well. Before this update, the game only crashed twice in 100+ hours.  Tonight after update, I've had 3 of these crash to desktop without errors or anything.

Spec:

Asus X99 Sabertooth

Intel 5820k

Asus Strix GTX 1080

32gb Ram DDR4

3840x2160 Windowed/Fullscreen

Samsung 850 Evo SSD

My monitor is a BenQ XR3501, so 2560x1080. Larger resolutions could be contributing. We also have the same chipset, CPU, install disk, and amount of RAM, though...

Frustrating problem, eh? I'm also just over 100 hours into the game and have almost completed it, with 74% achievements so far. I've played for hours on end, including multiplayer sessions, with no such issues thus far. Being so close makes it that much more saddening :(

I  just wanted to add that I am in the same Steam boat. However, crashes only started to happen after I left to another planet.

While I was still on the same planet as in the save file pre-1.0.13.0, those crashes didn't occur.

As soon as I landed on another planet in 1.0.13.0 however, I experienced the same crashes to desktop without any notice.

Three crashes total so far, after about 30 minutes playtime, which made me give up for now.

I never experienced any crash before this, as the game was 100% stable on my system.

I think hardware is not the issue here, as I am on a laptop (ASUS FX504) with

Intel® Core™ i5 8300H Processor
Intel® HM370 Express Chipset
8GB DDR4 2666MHz SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, with 6GB GDDR5 VRAM
1TB 5400RPM SATA HDD (on which the game is stored)

I usually play only windowed, 1600x900 on a 1920x1080 resolution with 125% scaling on Windows 10, because I switch between tasks.

Rarely playing any game full screen. The game crashes also when not focused, so it's not ideal for switching tasks, leaving it running, at this time.

Being on another planet maybe it.  I did the "Journey to the Center of the Thing", the last achievement I needed, with 3 other discord players without issues.

Then I decided to but a base on every planet with a landing pad at one of the Surface Chambers to make getting resources easier and a rocket no longer necessary.

This is when I ran into the problem.

For me it is 30 min. to an hour and half.  It crashed 3 times last night.

I am also going to try a brand new game and see if it is the savegame itself.

I'd agree based on other reports that it's unrelated to hardware. Just a happy coincidence there. My next uneducated guess would be something to do with the tether network rehash, as I didn't begin getting this until traveling back to a planet and noticing many of my tether groups were disconnected. Picking them up and dropping again seemed to reconnect them, but then the crashes came. Let me know if you've luck with your new game - I've read others haven't had such luck, though maybe it is interplanetary travel contributing.

Ran WinDBG on the memory dump. Snippets and full analysis below, also uploaded here [Link]. Looks like something to do with sounds, tethers, or RAM from my guess.

Hit me after update. After 350+ hours on all other patches I had not a Single Crash. Since the patch Its random crashing. My save file is just over 19megs and chewing about 8 gig of ram when playing.  Hardware wise it wasn't a problem before so no reason to suspect it is a problem now.  Joe did comment to me to send him a Crash file but It turns out at least in my case there isnt anything there so I just sent my Save file to him.  Not thrilled about this but starting over isnt so bad just wish I didnt have to. Guess we have to wait until next patch.

I have another thread about a similar, if not the same, issue, but wanted to get on this thread also to say that I am not getting any error messages or warning that a crash is coming in my saved game after the update to 1.0.13.0. I too did not experience a single crash throughout early access and up to the install of the most recent update. I hope we are not returning to the "updates break planets" and "Start over from scratch" times. I really don't want to begin again, but if that's the only thing that will stop the game from crashing on a regular basis, so be it. I won't be happy, but I like the game and would like to progress through it.

Started a new game and wasn't getting crashes.  At least till I started building and storing resources.  Have already unlocked all achievements and was playing again to try different things and make things more efficient.  Now I am getting crashes again.  I think it's a issue with the game not being able to handle a lot of stored resources or buildings now.  That is the only thing that comes to mind.

Don't know why it wasn't an issue before but is now.  Something was changed in this performance update I think that is causing this.

This is a basic picture of my base this play through, it's hard to tell how much resources are here, but a walk thru would show a lot.  Maybe this is the issue causing the crashes.

Just leaked that crash fixes are in the works. Hopefully in 1.0.14!

Ok, I think I've found at least my issue.

So I started a second play through, everything was stable all the way through unlocking one chamber and core on every space body.

Then I went back and unlocked all the chambers. Once all the chambers were unlocked and I loaded that save game again, that is when the game started randomly crashing without errors again.  Just like the 1st play through.  Both saved games are like that now. Can sometimes play 20 minutes without crash.  Sometimes it's only 5 min while at other times it may be 30 - 45 minutes.

Please let the new update address this.

I just unlocked the core of a second planet and it crashes constantly now.

It does and the crashes are sooner and more frequent.  It is, for me anyways, a matter of unlocking all surface chambers.  I've done two save games and both I've saved that for last and both are now pretty much unplayable.

I've started a new play through and game is super stable and smooth.  I'm not going to unlock all surface chambers this time and I bet all will be good.

I seem to be having the same issue. I unlocked everything on Sylva, then can only play for a few moments after unlocking my first surface chamber on Desolo.

Here's my deets:
