Was working at first no issue, although oddly enough it tried to lauch steam VR each time, but with errors I've never seen.

Tried multiplayer, it crashed, now the game won't even start after a reinstall.  just get the splash screen then a black screen.

I'm windows 10 BTW so didn't try that MS patch.

Same issue here

For me it seems to only freeze, like every 10-30 minutes. After a few hours of testing it appears to be freezing only when collecting compound, "mining" for extended periods of time and when trying to collect things from crashed sattelites

Okay so my game does not completely crash, it just freezes up. The music continues to play, however nothing else happens. EVERYTHING freezes. Having a ball with the game so far, just cannot even get to the point where I build a rover because so far I think the "crash" happens fairly often after harvesting compound. Also I do not get any save logs so I cannot send through the email.  Please sort this out as I really want to put many more hours into this. Thanks

I am also crashing to the Unreal Engine 4 crash report tool.  The game crashes in two different spots.  One is on initial mouse click, the other is as the first tool tip is displayed just after detaching form the station.  It is not generating any crash logs in Steam.

Win8.1, Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, 8GB Ram, Nvidia 650Ti.

i don't even have that Log Folder.

because the Game doesn't actually Crash, it just Freezes and i have to use Task Manager to Close it.

the Worst part, there is NO, really, NO Indicator what Causes this, my Game can run Fine for like 30min. and then *bop*, Freeze without a Warning.

My pc runs on a fx6300 overclocked to 4,5 ghz and a gtx1060 with 6gigs of VRam. Everytime I try to play it crashes. Often after just 10 seconds of gameplay.

Okay so I just got the game from a friend and after launching it my game crashed after a few minutes. I have the steam edition and I've attached my DXDIAG file so you can see my hardware setup. The game only runs between 0.2 fps and 26 fps with nothing in the background. Also here is a screenshot of a bug I caught in game.  Got any suggestions for settings or anything i can change?

Hey guys,  If you are getting crashes, try and install and run SteamVR, and run it before you start the game (Even if you don't have VR).

There is some weirdness going on with the Unreal Engine at the moment thinking this is a VR game that some of us Vive and Oculus users have picked up on.

But what if your rig cannot run any VR games?

WINDOWS STORE/XBOX ONE: If you are playing on Xbox One or the Windows Store version of the game, we've already got an upload of the crash dump via Microsoft's infrastructure.

STEAM: If would like to help us on the Steam front do the following:

  1. Navigate to your Steam games' installation folder. (...\Steam\steamapps\common)
  2. From there navigate to where Astroneer dumps out crash logs. (...\Steam\steamapps\common\Astroneer\Astro\Saved\Logs)
  3. Zip the most recent Logs folder and send it to support[AT]systemera.net.
    1. If this folder is too large, use the date time stamps to copy the log file and the mini-dump file that you think is associated with the crash you are experiencing.
  4. WE also recommend you send us your hardware configuration in the same email.
    1. Press Windows Key + R to bring up the run window.
    2. Type 'dxdiag' and click ok.
    3. In the dialog that pops up, click 'Save all information...'
    4. Save the HW report file somewhere.
    5. Send us the HW report file.
  5. Once you've sent us the zip file, feel free to clear out this folder as to not confuse future logs with past ones.
  6. Make a new post on the forums describing the crash similar to bugs reporting.

The game runs normally and does not interact with the VR environment from what I can tell. But somewhere along the line, the Unreal engine thinks it needs some of the VR dependencies to run the game that are only initialized while Steam VR is running.

I do not have that directory listed for the crash log.  Here is my problem:

I have my rover attached to my base with the front and rear hose. I took off in the rover with them still attached. When I reached the point where the hoses should break/stop the rover, the game crashed to desktop. Now when I try to log into that character, it won't load and crashes every time.

Installed the SteamVR test and ran it.  This also installs some Microsoft VR drivers.  I still get the crashes to the Unreal Engine 4 report at the same two points during launch.

you do not want the test. Look in tools and see if you can find SteamVR. if not, try Downloading the vive drivers.
