We're told to use spoiler tags, but not how @Wyvyrias. What's the code to do this, it's not obvious while posting.

It was disabled in a recent update. Forget about it for now.

on the front page in the example screenshots there are pictures of base structures i have not seen before. Are they really old models not in use anymore or new and yet fully implemented?

Decided to start making a racetrack on Barren. I need some tips regarding making the surface flat AND have the right angle, or do I just keep digging with my terrain tool and not bother making everything flat? help

@The_BroMeister:  Sadly, the Shrine Of The Little Astroneer collapsed with 0.9.0.0.  Instead, I'm building a smaller structure.  A simple three-story house with attached garage.  I haven't taken screenshots of the finished walls, but here's the rough-in:

I still have to re-do the roof line (not shown here, but was completely non-square).

Here's the construction crew Saturday morning:

For flat surfaces, it requires patience.  Lots and lots of patience.  But, remember one thing about the game, it likes to build in cubes if it can.  Locate the lines all the polygons share in a line, and work with that.  If you can find the plane that is the surface of those cubes, you're golden.  Keep raising/lowering the terrain and using subtle light (turn off your Astroneer's work light, turn his head lamps away, and use tethers) to find a polygon that is near flat and shares that straight line.  Flatten it out, then examine and repeat with a different polygon.

There are some videos on YouTube that give assistance with this, too.  The most important thing is patience, though.  Rough-in your work first, then worry about the finishing details.

Just remember, you're building a plane on a sphere, so many times your glass smooth surface will appear to be angled.  The same goes for vertical surfaces.  They may not be truly vertical.  Nothing can be done about that, sadly.  If you want flat as relative to gravity, you'll not get glass smooth.  You CAN use the alignment mod for that.
