  1. So I was starting a game with a friend. Astroneer had an update. "Surely nothing", I thought. Apparently when I was trying to update the game, steam wouldn't let me update it because it was apparently secured by Astro. Keep in mind this is a legit version of the game. So I reinstalled it and it was all fine. I try to join my friend but steam says its an invite for another game that I am currently playing but I am only playing Astroneer. So my friend asks me if I can make a world, I say sure and I go on and make one, but I am unable to invite him. I checked in the multiplayer tab, and surprise surprise, instead of a billion friend names there are instead a few underscores and nothing else. Then I posted the problem on discord, nobody told me a fix yet. I have tried reinstalling the game and verifying game file integrity. I also no longer had my retro and Terran suit. Here are some screenshots consisting of the problem. This screenshot is in French, but in a nutshell : there is no version problem. A moderator told me this problem had never happened before, what do I do to fix it? I haven't yet tried to force uninstall it yet.

    Character customization

I feel like choosing your own character for the game is really good and I would really like to see them expand on this to maybe come out with some different styles of astronaut suits and maybe be able to customize some small parts on them or some colors. I also think it would be nice to be able to change your character after you've already chosen one just incase later during that game you just wanna change it intead of having to start up a new game. I hope the helps thank!
  3. Research is currently a pretty simple task: 1. collect "unknown" objects 2. plug into research station 3. hit the button and voila! stuff! The "unknown" objects themselves seem pretty cool at first but I quickly realized that there are just a few versions of them and despite being organic, mechanical or mineral-esque they all do the same thing. The repetition of the simple steps above becomes a little dry, especially after a few play-throughs when you know what's coming. To make the task of researching things a little more engaging and rewarding I had the ideaz of (1) randomizing separate parts of the "unknown's" geometry and of (2) having each unknown/research object unlock a slightly different puzzle or mini-game. A random stack or collection of a few different template geometries (or ideally a whole procedurally generated system for the geometry) could make sure that each unknown looks and feels unique. As for making it interactive: we've seen that finding a specific satellite unlocks a mini-game at your home base and I think it would be fun if each unknown/research object had it's own challenge to solve. This could make it feel like you were conducting the research yourself (could also potentially tie-in with what the result of the research will be, i.e. a spinning puzzle unlocks the drill). Thoughts?
