  1. Anyone here had luck playing on PCs with integrated graphics? I have a surface pro 3, Intel HD 5000 Graphics but I cannot get anything over 7-10 FPS. Enabled the Windows 10 Game Mode, not much change. I know there's a ton of INI file tweaks available, but wanted to ask to see if anyone had experience with said options?

    Base Module tweaks.

When 4-5 modules are surrounding the starting pod, it can easily get cramped. It might help to make to modules a little wider so that to component slots are a little more spread out to help with item selection and cursor snapping. A lot of the times I'll try to pick up something and the cursor snaps to another item I didn't want. As far as modules go I also think it would help if there was a Module tab in the pause menu which would let you look at a list of all unlocked modules and a description of what they did. Same can be said for the components like solar panels or power cells. This would make the game a little more accessible to those who may not pick up on things as quickly as others.

MEGA LIST OF TWEAKS AND IDEAS

First of all, I want to thank System Era for this amazing game. I've been following it for a while and have been very interested. I've only just recently gotten to play because my old computer rig I got from back in like 2010 (lol, yeah, forever to upgrade I know) could not handle it, but I've played a ton since I started and have pretty much done most everything there is to do and I've either watched others play or read about the rest there is that the alpha has to offer. Once again, thank you so much for this game and I look forward to the future of Astroneer. I'd also like to invite @SES_Adam to come take a look at this as I think he might enjoy what he sees. For everyone else out there, I want to apologize if there's something in here I suggest that has already been suggested else where. I don't have the time to look through every post and make sure I'm not duplicating any ideas and I just have a lot to say so I'd rather just cover all the bases anyway. Just remember I'm not trying to steal your thunder. If you have an idea that you submitted that I put on here, feel free to let me know and share a link and I'd love to go comment, upvote, and share support. After all, we're in this together! Much the same, if you read through this, please go down and leave a comment and let me know. I need all the support I can get to make sure the devs see this and we can make Astroneer even better than it is! Thank you so much for taking the time to come in and have a look, I hope you like what you see! If you have another idea that goes along with anything I've posted here or even a better way to implement one of my own, please share it with me in the comments! I'd love to hear your feedback! Now, as for some quality of life ideas: First of all, Generators: they're currently not up to snuff when it comes to power output, especially the larger coal variant. Inventory tweaks: there's a few changes to inventory management that I think would be quite nice to have. FUEL COMPRESSORS AND TRADE OUTPOSTS: oh do these need to be nerfed. (Note: This is based off my gameplay before updating to 0.2.117.0, but I still think these fixes would be better than the current ones so I'm keeping it in) Miscellaneous tweaks and changes: just random ideas that don't fit with these other main things. And now, as for some new ideas: (this is my favorite part ) Suit Modules: this idea would be an update/tweak as well as new content for addons to the player's suit for a better gameplay experience. Vehicles: I love the module style of vehicles this game has, with the ability to mix and match as you desire, if only there was MORE!!! Base Modules: the module design of the bases is wonderful, but just like the vehicles, imagine if there was more!

    Terrain tool Tweaks

I'm on Steam and using a mouse and Keys; pardon the long sentences. When I'm manipulating the ground, I've noticed it's hard to tell what the tool is going to do. Here are a few suggestions: Lock the adding/subracting to a certain region until mouse is released and re-clicked. Imagine you're looking at the side of the letter U and cut through the one side. I'd like it if I didn't have to worry about destroying the part of my build 20 feet behind the part I'm working on just because I didn't instantly let go of the mouse button. This is an even bigger problem when the game doesn't register I've let go of the button and just keeps on mining in a straight line. It would feel nice if the tool mined through a surface, but stopped mining when it hit air, needing a re-click to keep going. maybe by checking for an air gap in the line of sight between the first and second surface? Give the "flatten" tool a larger/clearer plane reticle (CTRL on PC). With the amount of freedom them camera gives you, it's hard to tell what angle the flatten tool is snapping to. My ideas would be: a larger version of the current reticle a minecraft-esque 3-axis marker stuck in the middle of the current one a permanently-level disk in the middle of the current reticle, with a line showing the "middle" of the slope Make the immovable area under the modules smaller. I like multilevel bases and being able to have a thinner "ground floor" would be nice. (I'm ending up with a lot of certain resources just kicking around my base and tripping me right now, so I'm doing a system of caves under my habitat for storage).
  6. Hello, So.. after my first few hours playing I must say I had a ton of fun....to the point I really had a hard time stopping. lol There are some things I'd like to suggest however. When on a planet, the stars move fast, really fast. I understand it's because of the fast day/night cycles, but they're fast to the point that if I stop to look at them sometimes it made me a little dizzy thinking about how fast the planet must be rotating for that to be the case. I should point out that I'm not asking if the stars should be completely still. They should move some still to show the fast day/night cycles, but perhaps more Minecraft-like? Somewhere in between stationary and dizzying. The smooth tool could use a little tweaking. More often than not it seemed to act more like the raise and lower options than just averaging the heights between the vertices within the area like people, or at least I, would expect. I hope to be a regular on the forums as this game as certainly caught my attention. Excellent job so far on a game that clearly has a ton of potential!
