  1. My character keeps getting stuck in even perfectly smooth terrain on Novus. I haven't been on other planets in this update/save file yet, so I'm unaware if it's local to Novus or not. It's incredibly frustrating and feels like my character is experiencing extreme lag but the game is running smoothly, and I'm playing singleplayer. I'm on the current Automation update.
  2. If this is a repeat thread please let me know and point me in the right direction. How does Astroneer do terrain generation? I've heard they use marching cubes, but when I go to find out more on Reddit or some other forum site, someone always corrects it to Dual Contouring. Does anyone know exactly what they use? I am trying to make a lowpoly terrain system, any my marching cubes aren't turning out great, so I thought I would see what Astroneer uses.
  3. The sticky terrain bug, where astroneer character is constantly getting stuck on clear terrain, is back. It seemed to get better a couple of updates ago, but now after Creative update, it is back worse than ever. it is really noticeable on Atrox and Glacio. It seems to me that the character is set a few pixels too low, such that the character is actually moving through terrain. Constant jumping is needed to be able to "walk" forward.
  4. Summary: Latest update version. Steam platform. Tractor glitched through the ground and entered the core. Description: Accidentally hit the vehicle with a Large Platform B, the tires of the car was slightly below the ground. I entered the tractor and i was glitched through the ground. I couldn't really do anything, so i restarted my game and re-joined. When i joined back i spawned inside the core. There seemed to be a shield around the core so i couldn't leave. I decided to leave my truck on one side and just suffocate. I spawned back in my shuttle. Version / Build Number: asd Specifications: OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 | v. 2004 | Build 19041.508. CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 6-core processor, 3.60 GHz. GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB. RAM: 16GB DDR4 RAM. Drive: Kingston A2000 M.2. Other comments: I have a clip of what happened and how it happened. I'll upload this to youtube and add it to the post later.
  5. Cannot dig down in some parts of terrain even though I could previosly. This only affects the "remove" mode of terrain tool- not "flatten" or "expand". "Expanded" terrain in bugged area can still be removed. Bugged terrain can still be removed by "flatten" mode. SEE VIDEO. Steam, Astroneer v. 1.14.74.0, Mouse and keyboard. Singleplayer adventure mode. Been playing for 8 hrs, total. Cant say exactly what I did before bug- other than normal game stuff. Dont know how to reproduce. Exiting to main menu, desktop or killing self and respawning doesnt fix. UPDATE : Verifying game files in steam launcher seems to have fixed it. Bug-1.m4v
  6. I keep getting stuck while i walk, run or slide in smooth terrain wether it's natural or made by the rerrain tool. If i jump i get unstuck but its really frustrating. The save i play on is a fresly started save in the automation update 1.13.126.0.

A bunch of rockets spawned in each other and now whenever i approach that i get about 2 frames a second, this is in a survival world creative has not been enabled i have no idea how to fix this besides deleting the world but me and my friend that im playing with have gotten very far progression wise.
  8. Terrain Analyzer is weird. Color is reset to default color(Light grey) when I load saved game. I have set the Terrain Analyzers colors(e.g. dark grey, snow color, green, etc.). But when I close the game and run, load the saved game, all Terrain Analyzers color is changed to default color.

New here, apologies if already reported, I did search and didn't find quickly and this feels like it is new (as in, I swear this worked as expected until very recently) Bug: When filling in terrain via soil cannisters in my backpack they all drain simultaneously at the same rate as a single cannister. No matter how many cannisters are in my backpack they only output the same quantity of soil as a single cannister. Expected behavior: 1 cannister drains at a time until depleted, then the next, then next. Sometimes, the terrain just return from whatever he was sent.   11. Steam - 1.11.62 Keyboard + Mouse Windows 10 I am running multiple saves were all players in the game are affected by this. When carrying multiple canisters they would fill one by one with the basic rate (no problems there). When creating new terrain using the terrain tool with ctrl or alt, material is used from all containers carried at once (not 1 by 1) with the normal rate. It's only creating the terrain worth 1 canister of material but it will have used all your canisters in the process. Resulting in canister terrain tool usage rate multiplying by the amount of canisters the player carries but keeping the original terrain creation rate. Repo Steps: 1) Attach multiple canisters to backpack 2) Fill all canisters with material 3) Create terrain using the terrain tool (ctrl or alt) don't use all material. 4) Check backpack to see that all canisters have been used with an equal percentage instead of 1 by 1. Resulting in only a small amount of material used but this material is taken from all canisters instead of 1. From one Game Dev to another, thanks for the last update! You guys fixed an amazing amount of crashes in this last patch! Haven't had a single crash yet, also multiplayer performance has improved a lot! Thanks!
  12. Whenever i drive the buggy one of the front wheels will get stuck one wheel depth under the surface of the terrain. You then either have to dig it out or drive with the wheel stuck up an incline to get the wheel to "pop" back to the surface once you clear the crest of the incline

When you are standing on downill slope (steeper one), facing down, and rear end of your terrain tool (where resources gathers), is touching trerrain or is slightly below terrain slope level at that spot, when ammount of mined resource fill up to one stack and fall-off (=backpack full) in this case this resource fall through terrain, or to be precise under level of surface, where it cannot be found again (after digging on same spot afterwards).
  14. Created a container but it does not work i.e. the soil is not going into it. I also noticed that the container in the initial training mission differs from that in a regular game in appearance. It is long and white completely in the shape of a cylinder. There is no container full indicator. View canister in training mission: Steam Version 1.11.62.0 Windows 10 I can say about the tractor that after printing and deployment, it often flies into space, sometimes together with an astronaut. Build a planet rover is already scary)) Re-install and new launch game did not help.

  16. I've played on the same save since 1.0, and I've noticed a few bugs as the save aged. But this bug messed up a few of my bases, the terrain on all of the planets reformed to how they initially generated. The new terrain is rocky and unnatural, I had to dig out a few things, but most notably my Vesania base. I'm a steam player and this happened when I loaded into my save. I'll add more photos if it's necessary.
  17. I came back to this game earlier in the week to check out the new content. The last time I played before then was in June. I'm really enjoying the new content but the performance has degraded quite a bit since then. I've got really choppy frame rates when driving, launching into space, or any quick traversing really. There also seems to be some issues with terrain pop-in and bits of floating terrain hanging around when they should have disappeared. I brought down my settings all to medium, standard for cloud quality, and it doesn't seem to help much. Previously I was playing with much higher settings with less issues. System: AMD FX 6300 GTX 750ti 16GB ram
  18. System = HP Omen i7 gaming laptop, wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard. After playing Project Cheer for several hours on Sylva then Glacio, returned to base on Glacio, had terrain re-spawned partially in cave entrance I had dug previously. Removed that terrain, went down to first cave level and saw re-spawned terrain as seen in pic. I had entered this cave when first arriving on Glacio during this session, no problems with terrain. I then returned to Sylva, tried to switch out of Frosty visor, could not. The visor changes, but 3-D elements are still there no matter which visor, suit, or palette combination I select. Summary: 1.7.55.0 - Steam - Terrain glitch at base Description: After installing the new update and jumping into my existing save (this was the first time loading it up), some oddly blocky terrain "grew" over my launch pad. this terrain was not here yesterday. The terrain is removable and has collision- like normal terrain. (Not sure if this has been posted anywhere after the Creative Update, if so please don't crucify me) The other day I was playing Astroneer before the Creative Update rolled out (playing it on PC via Xbox Play Anywhere) and everything worked and ran as it should. I was working on my base and decided to clear a good chunk of a mountain out to make space. However, after the Creative Update, when I went to load my save back up, I noticed immediately that, very large portions of the mountain were back, even cutting through some Platforms and other devices. Some hostile plants even respawned in the regenerated terrain. Once I cleared everything I noticed that there's still non-rendered terrain floating in the air. I am unaware of how to fix this myself, and after some time of clearing space to only have it regenerate, and leaving phantom fragments behind, is a bit annoying. I'm not sure if this affects the Steam version, but as of right now via Xbox Play Anywhere for PC, it seems to have an issue. Any thoughts for remedy? Here's a video showing what I mean.

    Summary: 1.0+ (still present in 1.0.6) - Steam - Cant pass through a ground in multiplayer which continues to reappear if mined Description: The terrain continues to reappear no matter what in a specific range. Even after reloading both host's game the bug stays and doesn't let pass through. It appears in the place where the slope of the mine encountered the floor of the cave. Things can pass through the barrier (and host too), but the player cant. Tethers can be placed on the barrier, but standing on the barrier is very dangerous, because it seems the player accumulates fall damage in that case, which can easily kill even after standing for 10 seconds. It looks like the player is stuck in one place and is in the sliding animation all that time. It is possible to pass through the barrier in the short time while the ground did not reappear, but there is a high chance of dying of the fall damage after passing.   24. Just got the game in Game Preview about three days ago via the Xbox Game Pass on Windows 10 and got one lovely bug with my friend today. A slew of items that either i've interacted with, or built were mass spawned in a cave underground by our base that we dug into to try and get to the center of Sylva. Prior to the glitch we were just returning from the center. Items like Medium Generators, Research Sites, Research Items, and (majorly) Debris are all there and interactable with. Some you see were pulled out in my utter confusion as to why. Not sure how it appeared, but I assume it had to deal with some existing debris and code just going sure lets spawn EVERYTHING here. I'll post two pictures of the clump and whatever else I can add afterwards to help I definitely can.   25. When editing terrain near the tractor or the rovers, the vehicle sinks into the ground. This can cause you to accidentally lose a tractor or rover and it also can be exploited to do core diving.
