  1. Please add a function that will reduce the volume level of a storm based on how far under ground the player is. That is, when I'm in a cave two layers down with no exits to the surface anywhere near the player the sound can become DEAFENING when a storm passes directly overhead. As the player is insulated by a thick layer of ground, dirt, rock, whatever the sound from said storm should be substantially muted and or/ non existent. I know this is a game but ... you might want to consider that, it there isn't any air (e.g. we are in a vaccum) or the atmosphere is of some other makeup (e.g. Helium) then the transfer of sounds an they way they would be heard would either be impossible or dramatically different (e.g. Helium) as the sound waves travel at different rated in different mediums which could be accomplished by adjusting the pitch based on planet type and altitude. Would be a nice technical touch to the game sounds IMHO ThanX - DJ
  2. Summary: 0.10.5.0 – Steam – Storm Walk Animation Bug Description: Back on Terran after visiting Radiated the Astroneer still walks like he does on Radiated. Reloading the savegame fixes this bug. Repeating the trip to Radiated and back let‘s show it up again.   3. While playing today on the Xbox One S, I visited radiated to collect sulfur with an atmospheric condenser. Upon arriving at radiated, which I'm sure more than enough people have discussed poor performance issues about on the Xbox so I will not go into detail on those here, I set up the machine, and collected three canisters of sulfur. I've been interred my small shuttle to return to Taryn. Upon entering the shuttle the game crashed. When I restarted the game my file was as if I had never left terran so I used the opportunity to set my inventory more optimally. Then I arrived on radiated, collected the canisters again. when I left radiated and arrived back on home planet, my astronaut could not Sprint, and had his hands in front of the visor as if there was a storm. It was daytime and perfect visibility. There was a storm beginning on radiated when I left. To troubleshoot, I used the small shuttle to orbit the home planet one time to return back to base, and the phenomena persisted, again with perfect visibility. Thanks!

    Don't die inside your habitat!

    Windows/Xbox Live Game Ver. 0.10.2.0 I was entering the habitat as a storm was closing in. Just as the door closed a box came in and killed me. Now I cannot access my corpse to retrieve my goods. Sad thing is, I just traveled on the puddle jumper to Barren to get mats, which are now on my dead corpse. *sigh* @System Era, this is something that really needs to be fixed. Terrible place to die and lose your items.

    Summary: death by stopped rock Description: I was building a solar tower on Terran (after coming back from an eight hour 4 planet trip, divided into two days) when a storm hit while i was on the tower, I was behind a fall stop that I made when a boulder hit and stopped on on the tower, I ended up walking over it while it was not moving, and then my astroneer died.   6. Hello! I have some small ideas for the game that are really cool. 1. Wind Turbines should be at full capacity during a storm. Seems illogical to me to not have any wind during a storm.. right? 2. Interstellar travel. travel to other stars, discover new types of planets and you will be able to choose your star with.. 3. The Observatory you could build an observatory to observe other solar systems, and gain knowledge about them so how do we use the knowledge about other solar systems??.. 4. The Spaceship (idk find a cool name) When building it, it will be placed in orbit of your current planet, and when you wish to go to another solar system, go on to the spaceship and choose your observed solar system. (much like the shuttle but with the observatory) you can always go back if you wish. 5. Add Types of Sun Add red giants, add white dwarfs, add all the stars you could ever know. 6. Add Space Stations It will be nice to add space stations and observe other planets of the current solar system. and find out diffirent things about that planet! (Hostility, Storms , Minerals , and other stuff such as....) 7. Soil Density this will get annoying on some planets, the soil could be denser, harder to mine, you get more soil, but you mine slower. 8. Space Elevator it could be cool to build a space elevator to space stations. and could be a must for the spaceship. 9. Asteroid Belts and Comets. There should be asteroid belts with asteroids (duuh) with different minerals, colors, and density. Comets could be rare, temporary , with juicy, rare minerals. 10. Add Large Solars and Winds
  7. Not having wind turbines spinning and generating energy during powerful wind storms seems ridiculous to the point of being frustrating.
  8. I would like to have a mode on astroneer with level difficulty for Example: the classic Easy, Normal, Hard. But what im thinking is like a menu in the pause section to Enable/Disable the storm as it can get very annoying at the start of the game when all your ores get thrown away so maybe modes like this: Safe, Easy, Normal, Hard. (safe can be no storm but still the full game)

    I'm thinking, in big storms, wind power machines to go absolutely crazy and like supply a whole load of power. Just an idea.

    Home base Beacon

    I think that we should have something like a tricorder when we press the LT button. It could show the nearest base or vehicle, examine the ground to find some hidden caves and show storm locations. Another thing that we could have on the game is snow, rain, storms, water, etc..
  12. The frequency of Storms seems to be way too often, 3 or more everyday is annoying and it takes up most of the daylight hours. Beacons should also be able to be seen over greater distances, maybe through mountains? The research module seems to draw a lot more power than can be stored, they are almost useless at night.

    Wind turbine during storm

    Maybe it's small thing but i think it's worth mentioning. The wind turbine during storm isn't necessary working. I guess it's just working in normal mode (that's another thing that turbines seems to be working randomly eg. two close placed turbines can in the same time work and not) but it's funny to see giant storm throwing things around and the turbines are sitting still as if nothing was happening. It would be nice to see some extra boost during storm in energy but at least they should work.
  14. Hi there! Right to the first point: a storm was approaching and caught me by surprise. I rushed to the habitat, but just when I clicked TAB, a rock hit and killed me. My character's body was in front of the open door, as if it was inside the habitat but the sequence made it get out. When I respawned, it wasn't there nor anywhere. I am a little sad since I just had built myself my first oxygen tank and of course I lost it. Here's a screencap, in which now I notice the items* in my backpack are missing (except the ones on top). *Items were only some Organics, Tethers and a Tank. Second one: I am not sure it is a bug or just works that way. I dug holes to keep my nuts and materials from flying away. So, making the nuts' hole bigger, I realized it was too deep and added some ground to the bottom, burying one nut by accident. I quickly dug it but it wasn't there anymore. It was in a matter of seconds, but left me confused. Both happened within a couple minutes, on Steam.
  15. So I know I've seen this in comments on threads, but couldn't find a dedicated thread for it. If it's been suggested already, lmk and I'll remove this if I can for clutter reasons. But basically, weather should affect solar panels and wind turbines. Just now I had a storm roll through where my turbines were off but my solar panels were still running as if it were noon. Hopefully this can be changed in the future, because currently how storms interact with these modules doesn't make sense.
  16. [0.5.0.0/Steam] Research items distort during storms This might not actually be a bug, but my artifacts started dancing during the storm. I've included a storm screenshot and a regular one. There's a green artifact that is clearly distorted in the storm one.
  17. Big storm hit my camp. One thing I'm noticing now is that rovers will start to get blown away (intentional?). On the most recent occasion my rover ended upside down and the wheels literally came off! Corrected itself when I hit TAB and flipped it back.

    Protection from storms

    First thing, Its annoying to dig a hole when a rock storm comes your way. After it passes it's annoying to keep filling in holes because they're usually right in the middle of where you are walking and it just takes time out of the day. I think it would make a great addition. Storm moves in you pull it out of your backpack and BAM tiny little shelter from the storm. It could have a limited amount of oxygen so every time you head back to base camp you can just top it off again, or even the same thing with power. if you've noway to get any power at the moment you can pull it out and get a little burst of power until you head back to base. I usually am away from base camp for 5 or 6 nights at a time collecting resources and making holes to stick said resources in before heading back to base and lugging everything with me. Not a fan of taking the vehicles with me everywhere cause i feel like you miss out on the scenery. Back on topic, I know I would personally love it and im not too sure about others. Aside from that fantastic work, you've come a long way since i bought the early access back in December of 16 and I look forward to the official release date! P.S. I would also like for storms to be able to destroy tethers(makes the survival aspect more appealing to me at least). Something similar to the picture only smaller.
  19. Storm The storm did today the most damage it could ever do. At the start i dug holes to store certain nuggets, to keep an overview and some order Finally, when i was able to build i the small rover, i went searching for researchables around the base. then i noticed the storm was coming, i looked around and boy was i glad, it was about to pass by, but it went over my base. when i returned back to the base, well there was nothing left, well the base was still there, but all the nuggets from the holes were gone. looked like the storm sucked them entirely away. Vehicles - Rover / Truck i mentioned in one of my postings before, the rover is way to under powered, when you connect a second rover without a storage module on it and put 2 researchables on it, the rover drives like a slug, low and slow. so tried not to put on the rover the big storage module, i feared that the rover becomes unmovable. on my 2nd game run, i collected resources and researchables till i got the big truck. first i drove around and the steering felt wrong, you must have changed something to it. it is hard to turn around or even make a small curve. well i tried to adapt to this weird behavior and then when i put the big storage onto it, the truck begun to behave like if it was on the moon. the more i put onto it, the more it felt like it defies more and more gravity on the starting planet. the truck skipped, launched like if i used a ramp, became more and more unstable. if you put on a truck a big storage module and put 4 researchables on it, the truck feels like it will start any second up into space. Nuggets Well they simply float around, sometimes, sometimes less. that is annoying and weird at the same time. it does not matter if you are on the surface or deep underground. one time i placed a few nuggets on the same spot, moved away and when i returned, the were scattered all over the tunnel, some on top, some on the wall and some just in midair. Tethers first the become a dangerous obstacle, when you drive to close to them, they tip over, when the ground is edited by you, but when you hit them with the rover or the truck they stop you instantly or tip the vehicle over. requires now wider corridors/tunnels to be dug or to put the tethers on the side wall or the top of the tunnel. Research The research feels like in one of the prior patches. it does not matter, i always got the most useless researches at start. just happy to have build the research station and found my first item and what do i get, the big shuttle, then the small shuttle, tons of filters, the open 3 seat, the closed 3 seat etc. the augmentations are the hardest to get, today after 3 hours play, i was only the research the new augment, the others i have not seen since patch 198, possible coincidence but at the moment i live, build and explore without them. Crash today i accidentally repeated the crash situation. when your big truck is fully loaded and the front and the back is a researchable connected and you drive near any build base item, in the moment you get in range for the connection of the vehicle with base object, the item not only falls off, the game crashes, especially when you have a found seat connect to the front. this also can be repeated sometime, when 2 trucks are towed together and you try to connect anything to the free place and the item snaps to one or the two places were the trucks are towed together. Habitat the habitat on the truck on the big storage module they do not fit, well yes you can connect them, but in the moment you do, the truck does a lift off or bounces around like a rodeo horse. Control of the Astroneer the issue here is the same like with the rover truck, sometimes it is hard to simply turn around. also there is this funny 360° turn. sometimes for some unknown reason the camera makes a twist and turn instantly 360° which quite annoying. for example, i try to move forward and suddenly this turn happens, when camera has returned to its correct position your Astroneer is facing the opposite direction and then you have to fight again with the controls to get your Astroneer back into the direction you intended.

    Ground hooks for rovers

    I suggest a mechanic for the rovers that allows the player to hook it to the ground somehow maybe a drill or something on the bottom so the rover doesn't get blown away by a storm setting the player way off track.
  22. I was killed by some storm debris while frantically trying to get back in my large shuttle. I was killed even though my body did travel up into the shuttle. Not sure if the death was before or after the command executed, since it goes kinda quick. My body underwent the death animation from inside the enclosure, and then disappeared with some items. Easy come, easy go...

    Bugs & Changes

    I encountered this bug. You try to direct first the new base node and suddenly it moves to different direction The Power/Air connectors, when they are build the connectors container is placed 180° wrong into the backpack. is it possible that the consumption of the default air in the backpack has been increased? It feels like my Astroneer needs more Air than before. Storm - when you are below surface you can now hear the storm when if passes over you, also the visibility decreases a little. Storm - Ok the storm slows you down, that is ok, but now the storm also sucks you along with him? Sometimes nuggets are sucked away, then your rover or trucks feels like he is vaccumed into the storm or at least behind him. Day/Night Cycle - the day night cycle feels unreal (not because of the engine ) On every try i landed on the planet, the day was always shorter than the night - The long Night - Episode II - Astroneer. Makes it currently awfully hard sometimes to expand, short times were you can gain energy, than the long wait for the next day. Game play #1 : was unable to expand, no resources or to few, nothing to research Game play #2 : some research possible, but again, only stuff, which gives terrain abilities, but well if you are on the plain field, why build a mountain General feedback: The rover now is more glued to the ground but still some stones make him topple over, mostly small ones.
  25. The mind begins to wander when waiting it a storm. Rocks slamming into the side of your habitat miraculously missing you with your door wide open. It was about this time I began to think about erosion. At these rocks travel across the terrain, what would happen if they damaged it in the process. Eating away at the side of a mountain. Uncovering forgotten caverns. Knocking over mighty... Tree things. And also I wouldn't mind the junk I leave lieing around to disappear into the horizon. I mean, we are here to manage the planet for all it's resources and leave it barren are we not? What's wrong with a couple filters blowing away...
