This may be already a plan for dedicated servers but if not why not put the option to set a spawn point of course you would need a habitat to do that or generally just change the landing pad model to the starting landing pad model to do that this could help if for example a friend wants to play with you but then you have to basically spoil them if they are new about the "ya know what" in order for them to get to you if you are working on something in another planet.

One thing that pique my interest in astroneer was the old storm system, it gave a sense of danger to a new player since they wouldn't know the games features that well however, after a few days you learn these features and the storms became a nuisance because they came so frequently and sometimes back to back. They got removed of course and I was happy until I realized that the storm system gave suspense to the early game and could potentially give more suspense even to a end game player at some points. Here's what I got so far Sylva/Vesania- wind storm -storm doesn't do direct damage to the player -make movement a bit hard -can move items that are not protected by the wind or arnt on platforms or connected -can move the astroneer if they arnt behind some object redirecting the wind (this can lead to falling of a ledge if you were farming soil and didnt do it somewhere safe and went careful) Desolo-falling rocks or meteor shower -since desolo has no atmosphere and is a rocky moon with craters this would make sense -would prefer it to not make object not protected into debris but that's up to you since it can also encourage players to make a underground base or a base with a roof -meteors do direct damage to the astroneer but wouldn't auto kill them -area of affect impact but not to huge -removes chunk of land but not by much on impact Calidor: dust storm/sand storm -why not bring back the original storm -flying rocks still appear -hard to walk -obscures visibility Novus- no storm -since I've seen some suggestions for animals in the game why not make novus populated with some hostile animals would make sense for a forested moon Glacio-snow storm or hail storm -Snow storm -Obscures visibility -makes astroneer very hard to maneuver because you are cold and some wind is in affect -hail storm -hail falls down causing damage to the astroneer if not protected -hail comes down fast and many come out making a roofed base or underground base a must Atrox- gas cloud -since Atrox has a chocked atmosphere with sulfur and methane being some of its components and it being known as a radiated planet it would be the perfect fit -huge cloud comes in making the air around you have a poison affect -roofed base will not protect you -any base not underground will need a habitat, preventing new players from just going to the planet without consequence -gas cloud is more frequent then the other planets storms in order to make it truly be the games hardest planet as of yet Please tell me what you guys think and I worked really hard on this. P.S: these storms will not happen as frequently as the alpha's storm, maybe for the gas cloud though.

    Steam workshop?

    Soo i tried to look up if anyone has talked about adding a steam workshop possibility to this game i can see it working possible 2 ways i know some people may not like this idea but i think it would be kinda cool to see ideas flowing into this amazing game #1 open source modding for the game to let anyone and everyone to make items for the game to help players make their bases better or get interesting tools to make platforms faster or ramps for buggie races but allow people to download like item like wheels bases for trucks already in game kind of like lego worlds were you can spawn building then edit them to your hearts content #2 have open source modding BUT have the community vote on what should be added into the game like what warframe dose with its community
  4. Summary: Steam - Tractor and Self launched into space from core. Description: Multiplayer. Host was attempting to flip our tractor snake. I got off to help while he was trying to flip it, and it launched me up through the ground and into space instantly. He said the tractor vanished too and then he suffocated. I'll end up suffocating too. Tractor MIA. This wasn't caused by pressing enter twice when getting on. It was caused by exiting the vehicle while my co-op host was trying to flip it. Summary: 1.0.13 - Steam - Atrox terrain not generating properly Description: Terrain on Atrox on some saves seem to generate wildly, creating porous caverns that dip down a hundred meters into toughness 3 rock, leaving floating chunks everywhere. the terrain is completely unnavagable by foot or rover. while it looks kind of cool, its extremely irritating and problematic for gameplay. I'm certain this is a bug in the terrain generation algorithm that may need to be fixed. also, this is NOT a graphical glitch, this terrain is exactly how it appears. note, the highest point of these floating chunks is supposed to be the surface.   6. Hello, I can not get Astroneer to run/start past the System Era and UE logos. Program crashes with no errors in windows or steam. I am not having issues with any other games (Destiny 2, Apex Legends, Overwatch, Diablo 3 etc). So not sure where to go next with this as far as isolating the issue. Things I have tried: Reboot PC Update nvidia drivers to latest version (418.81) as of 2/6/2019 Verify integrity of files via steam.   7. The game seems to be thrashing my harddrive when moving around in the world. The game stutters a lot on my HGST 8TB Harddrive even with all graphical settings to low. Hi there, i found out rather by accident, that when you have a winch connected to any rover, then link the winch back to any part of the same rover it creates physics bug and your rover starts to spin and tumble away, eventually spazzing so hard it flies off into space. I've only had this bug with rovers, and I've had it happen multiple times (always by misclicking with the winch) on a side note, it'd be really nice if the devs would add a function so pressing "f" while holding the winch would disconnect it...would prevent a lot of this in the first place. would also be really nice if the winch could self anchor like the small solar or work light. It should be very easy to replicate this bug, so i didn't both to do it again and take a screen shot. (i was too preoccupied trying to get my rovers back to think of it the last times it happened) I'm on PC, all settings max 8700k, 1060 6gb, 32gb ram, windows 8.1

  10. Hey All, I've got a weird bug that's shown up; that I never realized until a friend of mine bought the game and we've been trying to play co-op. Basically my "friends list" is not populating. System Information Windows 10.0.17763 (Up to date) Steam Package Version 1550534751 (Up to date) Astroneer Version 1.0.7 Bug Description This has been present before 1.0.7; but I couldn't tell you for how long Despite being up to date with all patches, the "Friends List" is not populating, and it is currently impossible for me to join or invite anyone to my game. It doesn't appear to have affected my friend at all - just me. See the picture I uploaded. Reproducibility It's always present, in the main menu and when playing a save game. Steps Taken to Fix Restarted the game Restarted steam Verified game cache Uninstalled/Restarted Computer/Reinstalled Astroneer Ensured Astroneer is allowed through the Windows Firewall It also doesn't look like this has appeared at all through my google searches, so here I am posting a bug report. Let me know what other stuff you need to know!
  11. Summary: All achievements in Steam are locked, despite completing tasks. Description: After playing about 20 hours, many of the achievements I should be getting (like Scanning a research sample, building a rover, changing suits, etc.) are not popping up in Steam at all. This may be a similar root cause as another issue I am having with multiplayer on steam as well. It appears that Steam and Astroneer aren't communicating to each other except starting up the game.   12. So last time I posted, I mentioned that I couldn't unlock any suits. In the new update if the situation continues there should be a report posted so here it is. Nothing has changed and I'm still missing all the suits (including retro), color palettes, dances and visor colors that are unlockable.   14. Dear Devs, why are there no answers to the problems and technical condition of Astroneer? For many players, the game has become unplayable and many will follow if nothing changes. Your game is awesome and just perfect for calming down. The mechanics and the implementation are terrific. All no question. But the technical condition is worse than in most betas. Why is that all? Why was it released anyway? You know I am not alone and many would like to hear an information or statement and answer our questions. Even if the problem is unknown and it still lasts, this info would be sufficient and better than to mention. Many want to know how the stand is and why they can not continue playing. I personally have been releasing over 200 hours of play in 3 savegames together. I started a new game after almost every patch because I wanted to avoid mistakes in the savegame by prepatch files. You know of all the problems, please respond to this and do not bring up the trouble. Even if there are problems and these are still going on, this info is gold value. With more transparency, we would know what's going on and then experience when we can really play again and not always be disappointed. Follow every little patch in hope there is the cure is annoying. Whether you do it in your own form or we put our own questions together. Of which we choose the X most important. Nothing about features or gameplay, only "serious" issues that make the game unplayable. Please communicate with us and give honest information. Greetings.

    Teather visual glitch

    Summary: Teathers change their appearance. Description: When I put down teathers, leave, and then return the curved blue lines are all inverted (See screenshot), even though the line connecting the character seems to originate from where the blue line should be.   16. Summary: Two objects constantly falling. Description: On every planet I visit, whenever I go into a cave, every 20 seconds or so, two objects (See screenshots) fall past. They always fall on the left of the character, extremely fast, impossible to interact with. They appear out of the ceiling and disappear through the ground. One of the objects is clearly a dust particle system, but the other one is unclear, it just looks like a black mass with pink-red spots. They don't hurt the character, but they do get very annoying after a while!   17. So I was just mining out some Malachite around some mountains as normal, when I came across one of the marbles (Zebra stripe, so most common I think). I attached it to my rover (large) and started heading back to my base, coming across a barrier. Since I had a drill attached to the rover I decided to just power through it, but when I pressed the corresponding context key (default c and v, x and z for me) the game froze for a second then crashed completely. I've retired this same bug a couple times, placing the drill and marble on the different ports of the rover (front and back) and it still manages to crash the game. It's not a huge deal, as I'm pretty sure the marbles are purely aesthetic, but just something I figured I'd note down. Thanks for any fixes you can offer. (on PC btw, steam mouse and keyboard)
  18. Hi, recently my friend and I could not join each others game no matter who the host was. We tried to do it where one of us has the game open and the other has theirs closed and still no luck. Tried inviting through steam interface and that didn't work either. We have made rules in both of our firewalls. Any suggestions to try so we can play together? We got the game to specifically play multiplayer. Thanks for your help.

    An issue with outfits

    So since the release of 1.0 update, it was said that early access players would get the retro skin but I didn't receive it but didn't say anything as I knew something else would happen. That thing was a big issue with customization. On every planet I awoke, even though I got the achievement, I didn't get the outfit nor the color palette for the specific planet. I included some proof as well as my save file in hopes of understanding what went wrong. Thank you for your help. P.S: If any translation is required please contact.   21. Summary: Game will completely lockup randomly after several minutes. Description: During the entire time of Early Access this game never had a crash or hard lock-up (weird bugs but that was expected). After the 1.0 release it will now lock-up and have to go into the task manager to kill it off. I'm filling this in for my wife's machine, we play co-op multiplayer. On my rig I've never had a complete freeze however I'm running it through Steam Play's Proton (Ubuntu 18.04) on an Intel CPU/Nvidia GPU. Just to double check things I booted my dedicated Windows 7 64bit box, also running on an Intel CPU/Nvidia GPU and explored in Astroneer for a while. Ran around for over an hour and didn't get any lock ups. I've poked around these forums a little bit and have noticed a lot of people who are experiencing these complete lock ups are mostly (from what I can tell) running AMD cpus. I'd love to get you any crash logs but as the game doesn't actually crash it didn't generate any crash logs, sorry. If there is any other details I can help with let me know, this appears to me, to be an AMD cpu bug. Also the wife would really like to play this lovely game!   22. Summary: It's difficult to join a friend's game or can't join at all. Description: For the first time, all went well. We are 3 astronauts starting our journey. The next day, I try to join my friend (the host) via in-game's co-op menu and here we are with the "Hard Mode : enabled" . The loading seems good and I can see some textures with white and red clouds. After a couple seconds platforms and vehicules base(feet)/wheels tend to fall to the planet's core (thank you gravity) and I lost connection. After my "Failed to connect to the host" or "Lost connection", my friend is disconnected from Steam and he didn't do it. And strangely, my other friend (host's wife) can join the game normally even stay on the game with the host while he is disconnected from Steam. After the first day, we try different way to join his game : In-game co-op menu Invite via Steam Join friend's game via Steam Sometimes it works.   23. We bought the game on two separate steam profiles and are playing on the same network. We cannot join each other (me trying to connect to her game, or her connecting to mine) at any time. We had the same issue with the game Factorio and it was never resolved. What can we do?
