About Me

  1. I packaged a Rover Seat that I had connected to a Medium Rover, which was tethered to another Medium Rover with a Rover Seat. I placed the packaged seat in my Backpack, and attempted to enter the front rover's seat, causing a crash-to-desktop. This prompts "Saving Game," but the save does not succeed. This does not always create a log when duplicating the bug. I have also tried leaving the packaged seat on the rover, and even leaving the packaged seat on the ground before entering the front rover's seat; this does not change the outcome. The only log files I've gotten from troubleshooting this have been attached to this post. unreal-v0-2019.12.20-00.46.45.dmp 6cb70ec3-0175-412e-ac72-aa50f44c29fb.dmp 6cb70ec3-0175-412e-ac72-aa50f44c29fb.dmp.container
  2. Summary: - Steam - Sitting Down While Not in Seat Description: I picked up a single rover seat and put it in my character's hands. A prompt came up to press F to sit in the seat, and I pressed it. Now, even after taking the seat out of my character's hands, the sitting animation is still there and I cannot use the terrain manipulator. I can still move, jump, sprint, slide, etc, but the character remains in the sitting animation for it all. Another interesting thing that happens is that when I move near base components, my character sinks beneath the ground a bit and bounces before going back to the surface. I was able to revert back to normal by standing away from tethers and suffocating. Upon death, my character was teleported back to where I left the seat, then brought back to the habitat like what is normally supposed to happen when you respawn. The dead body remained in the seat's location, and I was able to recover my inventory. I also tried picking the seat up again to see if it would give me the prompt to sit down again, but it did not. 3. I play on Steam with mouse/keyboard. I am playing coop as a client with someone else hosting. We took a large shuttle to Atrox from Sylva. We had a bunch of items on the shuttle, including a rover seat where I was seated while the other player drove the shuttle. When we landed, I could stand on the ground and I could see through it. I could see stalactites and stalagmites, research objects, plants, and minerals/resources. I could also see stars and planets on the other side of the ground. I restarted the game and everything was normal. When we returned to Sylva, the same bug happened - ground invisible but I could stand on it. We totally exploited this bug to mine some sweet sweet Malachite.
  4. Tractors and rovers should be able to right themselves by turning while staying in the driver seat.. Grand Theft Auto has done this for ages when vehicles inevitably flip upside down. It'd be way better if we didn't have to exit and violently clip through terrain to the core just to try and flip a toppled rover in a tunnel. Thanks!

The 3-seat version in the game, does not match, the main screens showcase
  6. 1.0 version of game. I was playing multiplayer on steam with a friend (both using keyboard and mouse) and about 50% of the time he would get in a rover seat it would glitch him into space and then the game would crash for him. I was hosting the server and It did not crash for me but it would cause any rover where the seat was attached to glitch and not move. Only fix was to remove and replace the seat.
  7. Steam / Windows 10 Home I7-5960X @4.5GHz 32GB 3000MHz Corsair RAM EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Samsung SM951 500GB M.2 PCIe SSD Steam installed on an windows software RAID 0 volume consisting of 3 Samsung SM951's ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Forward (W) for the large rover (and probably the medium rover) should be whichever side the seat is on. I reconfigured the rover from a resource gatherer to being a scrap gatherer. The large storage was on the top back with the seat and a medium solar on the top front. I moved the seat to the bottom on the other side and added a large shredder where the seat and medium solar were
  8. I saw that there was an issue where the Large shuttle capsule face inward instead of outward. I have discovered that the large Rover has the same issue. See attached photos. This issue will affect headlights while driving at night.
  9. Summary: - Steam - Flying seats exploit Description: Now, I found this glitch on Steam while playing with a controller but it also works on mouse/keyboard and for that I'm guessing that it works on console too (but not sure). Anyway, the glitch works when you have a car seat and when you are about to hop in to the car seat then if you time it just right and you click on the car seat just before your character is about to hop in the seat you will select the seat but you are inside the seat giving you the ability to fly around in the car seat. (Also when you are doing this glitch you have infinite oxygen for some reason.) While this glitch is hilarious and a harmless bug it would make other vehicles (except the shuttles) useless when you could just make a car seat, have infinite oxygen, never run out of energy and travel extremely fast. (Also when this glitch happens the map can't load as fast as you are flying causing major fps drop for all players on the server. Platform: Steam / Windows 10 Version: Specifications: OS: Windows 10 x64 | v. 1803 | Build 17134.112 CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50 GHz GPU: GeForce GTX 780 3GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB Drive: WDC WD20EZRX-00D8PB0
  10. If you were to make a lvl 4 connection... maybe a triangle shaped plug, that only the single and triple shuttle seats have, this would fix all bugs with seats and the shuttle. There could be 1 slot on the side of the shuttle or 2, but not in front of where the fuel tank is filled. A habitat and open seats shouldn’t fit.
  11. Summary: Getting into an Open 1-Seat (possibly other seats as well) and clicking at the right time allows you to fly around simply by pointing the mouse. Description: Pressing and holding 'E' on an Open 1-seat and immediately clicking on the seat (to pick it up if timed correctly) allows the user to fly anywhere they please without the need of a vehicle or oxygen; this can sometimes result in flying 'inside' the planet as well. This bug can be used in single player, but is insanely easier to achieve in multiplayer due to the brief lag when the host automatically saves when any player jumps into any seat. Though it hasn't been tested with other seats yet, I imagine that other seats that can be picked up and climbed into by the Astroneers can also be affected by thus bug. Platform: Windows 10 PC Version / Build Number: 9.0
  12. Sliding and then entering an open seat causes the character's animation to remain sliding instead of sitting. The player can control the vehicle as if they were seated normally. Easily fixed by exiting and re-entering the seat normally.
  13. Player 1 was inside a seat mounted on the shuttle, player 1 was then removed from the shuttle (while still being inside the seat) by player 2 and placed on the ground. While the seat was on the ground player 1 was still able to press the launch shuttle button. Player 1 pressed the button and the shuttle launched without any player.
  14. Summary: - Steam - Self guided flying one person seat Description: While playing on multiplayer I placed a chair on a vehicle. There was a slight delay upon entering the chair, during this delay I picked up the chair and seemed to have picked myself up. This allowed me to fly around the map in the mystical flying demon chair. When I tried to reproduce this the chair was only stuck in place and could not be moved. Platform: Steam Version: Specifications: Client PC (Me) OS: Win 10 CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 GPU: GTX 1080Ti RAM: Corsair 2x8GB DDR4 Drive: Samsung 960 Evo 500GB The host has a very similar system with an Intel 8600k, we were both on fiber and had no noticeable network issues.
  15. I want to be able to blast myself into space without the help of friends. Being able to connect the two peg of the seat to the two peg thruster would be very helpful in my adventures into bad ideas. Also it'd allow me to challenge myself to survive in a random hostile area and try to make it home for my own entertainment/survival training for rookies.
  16. Summary :When a second enclosed seat was built, and also when I launched again the game , this second enclosed seat was misplaced, and I have to turn it over. So, when built, it was misplaced, so I turned it over. When I launched the game an other time ( for an other game session I mean) , this second seat was back into its misplacement. so I have to turn it over again. 17. I've been encountering this bug for quite a long time now, and it's pretty much can be done easily. I'm using Microsoft play anywhere and most of the time, I play on my gaming PCs more than my xbox one. Everytime i try to climb onto the rover by moving close to the seat, facing the seat, and my mouse hovering the seat(with a note showing E enter), I hold down E and it doesn't ride the rover and just shows up my extractor, which I know happens only when you quickly press and release letter E. The only way that I noticed to fix it with 99% accuracy is to detach the seat and reattach it, then quickly press and hold letter E, and you'll be on the seat as normal. I've attached a linked video below to show you what I've been experiencing.!Al4khg9Tck4ujyRv7izvtixAtvfy There's no specific condition to trigger this bug. It happens in any situation that I'm in. Note though that at times it will work normally, but most of the time it does that. The video linked above shows the bug clearly and was replicated in one try. Please advise if you were able to reproduce the bug and let us know if you have a fix. BTW, there's also a bug shown in the video above about the wheels getting stuck in the flora after being parked for awhile, though I'll post it in a different thread.
  18. So I build the spaceship with 2 storages like you're supposed to do, shove 7 small storages on the nodes and one habitat, and I can't enter the habitat. So I put a seat there instead and enter it, and I can't launch the spaceship. This wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. For the love of God, please revert it back to the way it was in 0.5. What do I do?
  19. I have researched enclosed 1-seat, but it does not appear in the printer menu. It does show in the vehicle bay menu, but it is shown as pink and does not show the "start building" button.
  20. Here's a photo: What I did and how it happened, I ran up to my rover, clicked TAB to enter and it was on uneven plane - result:
  21. I sitting a seat (in the research stand) but I can't stand up! I press TAB button. But my character isn't stand up!!!!!!!! Please Fix This Bug.
  22. I had just built a small spaceship/rocket and then built a large storage on it i put a "1-open seat" on the large storage and filled the other 3 spaces up with medium storages filled up the fuel and saved the game. The next day I loaded it back up and when I entered the rocket I could not fly it but it had worked once the day before.
  23. Some bugs that I have seen, including some I've seen listed but with more indepth results. RESEARCH At first there was no problem, but I did *something* and then all my research pods permanently floated. I could just move them around, and they would remain exactly where I left them, with no impact from gravity. However, collision impacted them. If I hit one research pod with another research pod they would bounce and then move (slowly, but almost frictionless.) Later, it became mixed. Some float, and some do not. Also, the ones I take from crash sites often make a sound to suggest it's continually trying to land on the ground, even though it remains on the ground. The sound disappears when I pick it up, and returns when I place it again. Researching pods was frustratingly slow to find some important features, such as "medium storage". I had to research well over 100 times before I found this. I still cannot build a habitat, but I have a fully loaded large shuttle. I am hoping research 2.0 removes all of these concerns. ITEMS I placed a hydrazine cannister on the ground, and it slipped into the earth and I could not find it. Many days later, a storm left me a miniature hydrazine cannister. (Thanks storm!) Very hard to repeat this problem, so cannot expand further. When I load my save game I often find a single granule of power in certain locations - backpack, rover, base etc. They supply no power so I drop them. They do not despawn. Today I invited a friend into my game, and he saw these nubs as a full pack of power. (We discovered this when he presented a different problem via screenshot). So if I picked it up, moved it, etc, I saw a single nub of power, he saw a full power pack. He put it into his backpack, and I still saw a single nub of power. However, the instant he used his terraform gun with inhibitor mod, it visually changed to a full pack of power. At this point, it prevented loss of power and he could inhibit indefinitely. We interacted with it a lot (passing it to each other, dropping it, placing it on base, repeat) and at some point it behaved like (and appeared as) normal power. At that point, all other nubs of power on the ground despawned. tethers, work lights, air filters can appear in your backpack upside down. This can be from creation, or from shift-click pickup. click and replace will return it to standard. ROVERS I've only driven small rover at this point. When it works, it's amazing. Wheels stay below me, sky stays above me, I can drive up hills, and even jump over them! But when it doesn't work like that..... Sometimes I press W and the rover drives backwards. I can't turn it around no matter how I press my keys or move my camera. I just have to drive in reverse. Sometimes, and especially when I load a research pod, if I press W, I just wheelstand right onto the back of the rover. Why? I cannot say. There are other quirks, but these are the biggest ones. SEATS When I was in reverse on the rover, I decided to just move the seat into the opposite end. However, when I took the seat off, the only place it would snaplock to is the place it came from. I could not place the seat in the other position. This problem transferred to Large Shuttle. I built an enclosed 1 seat onto it, it placed it where I wanted, but reversed - so that the flat edge was outside the spaceship and the door was facing the middle of the spaceship. I wanted to flip it around, but found it would only snaplock back to that same place. So I grabbed the 1 seat from the rover, and took off the enclosed one seat. I placed the rover seat onto the spaceship (it snaplocked to the same place, would go no other place.) Now I took the enclosed one seat, and placed it on the other side of the large shuttle. It went where I wanted it to go, facing the correct way (curved outside, flat inside). I took the rover seat back, and everything was great. When I reload, it's wrong again. SOUNDS I play with no music. I only hear sound effects. Sometimes when I'm digging out a wall the sound of the terraforming gun disappears. If I let go the mouse button and restart the terraform, sound returns. Sometimes storms give no cue, and you only realise a storm is coming when the rocks hit you. Speaking of rocks, the rock sound effect is about four times louder than anything else in the game. Correct to have it loud and overwhelming, but too much. As said earlier, some research pods "bounce" on the ground, if you listen to the sound. The worst sound glitch has to do with Ammonium. Sometimes when I place Ammonium on the Ammonium refinery (as if I was about to load it into cannisters), if I walk away it creates a location based sound near my habitat. The sound is a roaring pressure-based noise that is constant, loud, and gets louder as I get closer to it. If I remove the ammonium, the sound disappears. FLORA You know those plants that spike you if you get too close? I believe that I killed some, and then accidentally picked up and dropped two spores in the same location. Later on, two more of those plants had grown (working as intended) but I could not kill those plants no matter how much earth I dug out. MULTIPLAYER In all of these, I was host. 1. My friend's game crashed while he was running forward. His character stopped running, but continued walking very slowly. He filled out a crash report, and eventually his dude exploded. 2. My friend died from lack of oxygen while he was not only tethered but also had oxygen in his backpack. 3. My friend crashed approximately four times in the space of an hour. 4. Once when I was sliding down the ramp, when I hit the bottom I slightly entered the ground, and then could not jump out. I could not jump at all. When I used movement keys, I began to spin visually to myself and my friend. I would move very slowly in the direction I was holding, but still rotating as if on a merry go round. Eventually, I accidentally clicked a cannister from my gun, which dropped, I picked it up and that rescued me from my plight. This happened twice more in random situations, and using my backpack seemed to help. 5. My friend was in the cave using his inhibitor to test it, it was draining power from his backpack. This power was being replenished via tether lines and my base was solar powered. I was standing outside looking over my base at the time. I saw the power being sourced from my sediment plant instead of my solar panel. He saw power travelling along the tethers, except not the one he was attached to. This was not repeatable. Lastly, when I quit to desktop, Astro-Win64-Shipping.exe remains running. Also, this. This is how my friend saw my character at one point. You'll see also a pack of power on the ground behind us, he saw that as a pack of power, I saw that as a single nub of power.
  24. Hey there I have found a bug on pc where if you pick up a seat and enter it at the same time you can control the seat with your mouse as if you have picked it up but you are also sitting in it so its really easy to travel around very quickly. I have only tested this on pc and with a 1-seater seat and it works in both multi- and singleplayer It is very consistent once you get the hang of it but it might take a few tries at first -Rasmus "HeartBeatx"
  25. Summary: 158 - Steam - Shuttle launched without seat glitch Description: I am the host and a friend joins my game. We both land on Barren I ended up landing my shuttle in the same spot as my friend's shuttle and they overlap. Friend is messing around and picks me up while I am still in the seat. He puts me back down on the other side of the shuttle so there are now two 1-seaters back to back. I stayed in the seat and clicked the launch icon to move it. The shuttle launches without any seats connected and goes to orbit without problems. No landing circles were showing so I can't land it but the second launch icon is there, see screenshot. I hit TAB and exit the seat on Barren with the shuttle that was overlapping with two 1-seaters. Now the empty shuttle is stuck orbiting Barren, I can see the vehicle icon for the empty shuttle when I go into orbit with another shuttle. Occupied seats should be locked and cannot be picked up.
