  1. The pictures are date and time stamped in sequence found a vein of lithium on Vesania, mined a bit of it out, but left some untouched. Also left behind 1 to verify the spot, and to see if everything disappears. Went top side which is really just one layer up, saved and exited out of the game. When I came back to that spot, the 4th image is what I saw. Everything I left behind was gone, except for the one unit that was dropped. Included save file, didn't know if it would help.   2. Hello; I could not find an specific thread for my issue but. While exploring Sylva I find myself lacking of some elemental resources (namely Wolframite and Hematite) which are necessary for, at least, the Chemistry Lab and the Trading Platform, as well as the shredders. Which in turn will allow us to access further technologies and tools. How do you work around this? in the Wiki it explicitly states that you might be able to find working Medium Generators while exploring underground but, is there a realistic and tangible possibility of finding wolframite, hematite, or working modules (such as the shredders or the trading platforms)to overcome the natural lack of availability of certain resources in this planet? At least on your own experience during gameplay if you could find ways to work around this. Thank you.
  3. I think I've made a fatal mistake. Flying to the moon with no oxygenator or additional resource (like aluminium). Plus my thruster is out of juice so I can't get back to home. Anyone find any resource on the barren moon so I can fuel a thruster or build an oxygenator so I can use tethers? I'm dreading having to start a new game. I've unlocked a few gates on my homeworld which took ages! #schoolboyerror
  4. 1. mouse/keyboard 2. steam win7/64 3. last night (it was very late, thanks for making such an addicting game) i queued one last plastic resource in my chemistry lab on Desolo, then logged off. when i started the game today, the lab continued synthesizing the plastic. when it was done (DING!), when trying to click the plastic to pick it up, i picked up the chemistry lab instead (not by mistake, the plastic and chemistry lab were one object) i dropped the lab on the ground by mistake, then picked it up again and placed it back on its platform. thinking that queueing another resource might eject the plastic and make it useable, I started a rubber synthesis, which just closed the lab's lock without ejecting anything. after searching for the resource a few seconds i lifted the chemistry lab to find a red "connector ring" without a resource on top of it lying between the lab and its platform. stressed out I Alt+F4'd, hoping i could restart the game (by the time i had only been playing for about 3 minutes). once I had loaded back into the game again, i oddly had to load a save from merely 1 minute ago. back into the game I found the Chemistry Lab lying on its side behind me, with the plastic still inside. after placing it back and queueing rubber again it finally expelled the plastic, only this time it was unselectable and floated slightly above the ground, unmovable until i dug a little hole below it. it now lies there and is unselectable. i noticed one little part of the resource is missing, as you can see on the screenshot i appended. i will try to save and restart the game in hopes to find either a perfectly fine piece of plastic or it gone.^^ Update: after reloading neither of the cases I expected applied. its still not possible to pick it up, but at least now it reacts to outer influences (i can kick it around a little bit by walking over it)

    Rain?

    How come there's no rain? Rain would only make sense on Terran and Exotic, but I think rain/thunderstorms would definitely fit into Astroneer in general. Terran and Exotic obviously have atmospheres. The amount of flora would definitely cause them to form, and there are even clouds. If water exists in a gaseous form, it would make sense to have use for the liquid. They wouldn't even need to effect gameplay in any way necessarily, I just think rain could give the game more life, and a stronger, more natural feel. They would by no means replace the sandstorms already present, they'd be merely a cosmetic feature, another weather event to spice things up. If you wanted to have them effect gameplay, even slightly, there are a few options. the sky could be darker, the ground could be slipperier etc. If water were added as a full blown resource, a rain collection module would be a good way of harvesting it, depending on its actual use, that is. in my other post, I briefly mention the implications of lightning, so actual thunderstorms, with downpour and lightning could make sense.

    Item marked "RESOURCE"

    I've found a few of these items on the surface and just recently decided to winch one back to base. It cant be interacted with or researched, but it has a name. So that would mean it has a use, right? Anybody find these and figure something out?
  11. I accidentally printed something with (A) button, and then quickly tried to stop it again with (A) button. This worked, in a sense. I got my Compound back in full and nothing it being printed. But the printing sound is still on and the 2 bars of energy I lost aren't regenerating. I then tried printing something else. If I try to collect a a resource when my backpack is full by picking it up with RT then pressing X to drop it into my backpack, it says the backpack is full, but then the resource is just left on the map, on its side, and uncollectable. It is then stuck in this positing and does not have a selection ring around it. I have seen this happen 3 times from memory I think you can see them in my profile. I've Shared them with the bug name: https://account.xbox.com/en-AU/Profile?xr=mebarnav The screenshot shows exactly what I mean, with the Compound stuck on its side above a platform slot. I can still add other items to that same slot. Actually I just went to try again after saving last night, turning the game off, then starting a game again today and now I CAN collect the Compound. I'm sure I couldn't last night but didn't capture a video unfortunately. You can also see a similar example with a small solar panel in the video on my profile above. Note that I thought to go and check if I can collect it now, but it no longer seems to exist anywhere. If I see it again I'll provide more evidence.
  13. I have a full backpack. I had Tethers selected in the backpack printer. Then I switched to another item to print. Because my backpack was full there was nowhere for the compound in the printer slot to go. It just went spinning off into the cosmos never to be seen again. This occurred because I had the "Tethers" already selected, which pulled in a Compound resource. Then I filled my backpack by mining Resin. My suggestion would be to never have a resource actually consume a slow in the printer. Only have the printer consume the resource when print is chosen, and not pre-load itself with the resource.

    Food and Water

    Hello all! First time and first discussion here. I would like to ask everyone what are their thoughts of this topic. I found this game to be one of the best Space games I have played in a while. It is a combination of both accurate and comical. I do want to ask and hope this becomes a reality the possibility of having to not only sustain oneself through oxygen with tethers but the need to eat, sleep and drink clean water. More additions to the habitat will be obvious but it will create a new goal to this game other than the typical; tether, mine, explore, etc. I hope some find this a good idea as well and look forward to your feedback. Thank you!

  17. Attached video shows the bug. (But I might as well explain what I think is happening.) Version: Windows Steam _ Alpha 0.5.1.0 The game mechanic involved: When you place a resource onto the side of a large platform, at your base, with a module that wants to use that resource, the resource is automatically moved into the middle. The problem: I place a resource that the medium printer wants onto the side of the large platform. The module realises that it wants to automatically move resources onto itself. But rather than taking the one that I just placed, it attempts to take a different one. This different resource is the wrong one, so it puts it back, ... and then takes it again... this repeats indefinitely until you take away a resource. Reproduction steps: preparation 1. Research medium printer and medium storage. preparation 2. Have a large platform with a printer module. preparation 3. Make sure all attachment points of the platform and module are empty. preparation 4. View the platform from the front (such that you can see the text the correct way around). I call the side to your left the "left side". And the side to your right the "right side". preparation 5. Use the arrows to ensure medium storage is what the printer has selected. bug step 1: Focus your attention to the large platform's attachment points. It has two to the left of the printer and two to the right of the printer. bug step 2: Focus your attention to the two attachment points on the left side. bug step 3: Place a compound there. (You need not worry about which point of the pair. The cursor just locks on to the pair and always choses the point towards the back as the first.) bug step 4: Place a malachite there. (It doesn't have to be malachite. Every 1-sized item appears to do the same, including organic, copper, and small solar.) bug step 5: Place a compound there. observation 1: The malachite shakes back and forth between where it was and the point that wants compound. observation 2: The compound doesn't move. Deeper look: When doing the same on the right-side instead of the left side, and there is empty space on the left side. The malachite gets moved across to the left and the compound gets to its destination. There's no annoying repetition, however it is still weird behaviour. When doing the same on the right-side, and the left side is full, then the indefinite repetition happens also. When step 3 is skipped, then both the malachite and the compound move onto the middle, then the malachite is moved back to the side. There's no annoying repetition, however it is still weird behaviour. This bug also occurs with the vehicle bay, but step 3 must be replaced by giving it three compound. Any less than three and the same behaviour as skipping step 3 occurs. Unaffected: The smelter isn't affected. The notable difference I can see between the printer and vehicle bay vs the smelter is that the first two have a blueprint+arrows selection menu, whereas the smelter just wants any ores. The Mineral Extractor isn't affected. The sample is not auto-moved. And the soil canister manages to be taken under the same circumstance that causes the bug for other modules Unknown: I have not got far in the game yet, so I don't know whether there are other modules that are affected or not.   18. Summary: 119 - Steam - Phantom Resources Description: Every time I join my friends game, all the resources we have mined come back and float in the air. I have tried mining them (using the deform tool to build out to them harvests them), but they don't actually grant any resources. This is very annoying because it makes it hard to find fresh deposits from long distances and can be very annoying.     Resource Naming

    Hi, Guys Great Game, great ideas and nice execution so far Haven't it occured to you appropriate to rename the Power Resource to Water/Ice. It'd fit pretty nicely in existing game mechanics and can obviously be separate entity from elemental water (wich, btw, can be made extractable (as resource) from Soil. This will provide nice environment on arid and cold worlds. Keep up the pace! Thank you for your effort! Elijah

    Power / Resource Consumption

    Greetings, I am sure that this has been brought up, yet I haven't been able to find it and to my surprise I don't see it on the list of things that are confirmed / coming. Power consumption in the game needs some serious tweaking and once done would make managing your power a little less irritating. My example is this: If I smelter 1, 2, 3 or 4 items it uses the exact same amount of power. Resource consumption: (the one that really bugs me) Mineral Extractor, I won't argue with the amount of soil needed for the mats, it seems to be fair there (however I would say there should be more to the process to keep it closer to being real?). My complaint is it doesn't allow for any control over how much you use or how many of what you make... Yes, filling the machine to the proper line is nice, but if you are mass mining and want to empty your canisters, that feature isn't enough for proper management.     Dust Collectors!

    Since the addition of T.A.R. and the nerfing of Fuel Condensers, I thought about something similar to a Fuel Condenser... Introducing Dust Collectors! Dust Collectors look kind of like your average Fuel Condenser (except that they might have some sort of funnel or tower or something on top), but instead of condensing Hydrazine from the air, they collect dust particles floating around! They are about 1.5 to 2.0 times more effective than Fuel Condensers, and they are twice as effective as normal while a Sandstorm is active near them! (Just like wind generators) Since there won't immediately be a way to semi-automate Sediment collection (other than Trade Platform, and who likes a generic rocket better than a cool semi-new mechanic?), the Dust Collector will provide a way to gather lots of Sediment for those builders who have tons of power and want to get more Sediment without destroying an entire mountain. More accurate description of the module: Just like almost all other modules, the Dust Collector requires a Tier 2 Base Platform and to be researched. The Dust Collector would probably look like a slimmer, smaller fuel condenser, but on top it would have something like a tower that might look like one of those towers with a ton of satellite dishes (or radar dishes or whatever they are) on them.
  23. First dip back in the water for about a month. Started a new game and rather than dump my resources on the floor while I wait for the plans for storage (heard that storms have a bigger impact) I just dug a few holes and put the resources in there. Came back to base-camp after a session mining a few caves only to find my previously stored compound and fuel pods littering the sky. While I could grab them, it was as if gravity was off on them all and they just floated around. I'd last had some gravity issues with rovers, but this seems a bit bonkers. Any more resources and I would have had a new type of cloud!
  24. There is currently an infinite resource loop possible in gameplay: using a combination of the fuel condenser and the trading platform, the player can create an endless supply of any resource. Thought that this might damage the "exploration for resources" element of gameplay. A full base can be placed carrying only 11 resin (1 regular and two expanded nodes), 2 copper (fuel condenser), 2 aluminum (trading platform) and a renewable power source (wind or solar). Also, a combination of the smelter and trading platform makes it so that there is only an energy penalty when converting copper to aluminum and vice versa.
  25. Hello, My name is Charlie and I have been playing Astroneer for about 15 hours now, mostly solo. I love the game and I am very excited to see what is to come! More to the point I would like to report a funny bug that I noticed in the way that the printers take up items from their included storage spots on the sides. Particularly the left side. Oddly enough it does not seem to happen on the right side. This glitch will happen when you have an item selected in the printer with only one of the required items filled in and an unrelated item in the back space of the left side storage. If the required item is then placed in the left side front-most storage, the item in the back will "try to get out of the way" but it cannot, and it will sit there trying indefinitely. I tested it in a couple different situations. I can save you some time though, as the second video is just a test when the generator is selected instead of storage and the glitch is still there.
