  3. Just found a new bug with these new updates, it happened about three times in the space of a minute and a half. Basically, when building the standard one-resin platforms (extending the base etc), if you get caught in its radius when it's forming, you die. It's like a suffocation death (only immediate), there's the red edges round the screen, the Astroneer clutching at its throat, little spin and collapse. On one occasion, it was only the corner of my foot that got caught and I still died. Anyone encounter the same thing? Is this a bug or just something that happens that you gotta look out for now?
  4. Love the game so far! I have found a rather hilarious bug though, I saw one post that was similar: https://forum.systemera.net/topic/7975-character-stuck-in-research-building/#comment-25575 I was standing in the area where the research vessel would spawn upon being built, and therefore it built itself around me and trapped me inside. This happened as soon as I put the resin into the extension, and the research building spawned (the research vessel still took compound, and spawned and functioned normally as far as I could test) Lots of moving and jumping and still no escape. All for a good laugh, hope this helps!

  6. Hello There Reader, I, Sidegamer, Have an idea for improving base physics transport. While The "Base" on a planet CAN already transport energy, I think that the base should be able to transport fuel, needed materials, and Minerals (To the smelter). Also, the tethers should give energy to vehicles that are attached to said tether. As a footnote, I believe that players should be able to "unextend" built base areas, to a half refund of the materials used.   7. Sometimes I just want to put one resin in a port and create a single line. If you are not careful it will automatically take 2 resins from your pack and make a station. There is no reversing this process which devalues the overall aesthetics of my creation. Thanks
  8. So I've played and watched quite a bit of Astroneer, and from everything that I've seen I think I have three ideas for relatively simple improvements for general gameplay. I'm only guessing at these being simple as I don't know the code structure of the game. Adjustable Terrain Tool Aperture The Terrain Tool is a core aspect of gameplay, and while it works just fine in its present format I can't help but feel that the ability to adjust the size of your affected area could dramatically improve the game. While eventually being able to adjust the size of the aperture at will would be the goal, just a "small" and "large" version accessible by a button click (or perhaps using the mouse wheel to adjust the aperture instead of camera zoom while the tool is out) would give the player more control over their world. If there are concerns of "balance", the size of the aperture could affect power drain, with the larger aperture requiring more power. Decouple Camera from Movement For Keyboard and Mouse users especially, an option to allow movement independent of the camera (at least in vehicles) would make navigation of the game's worlds a bit smoother. Being able to look around while maintaining a constant bearing with the vehicle would make scouting or exploration of a new world a bit more user friendly. More Uses for Resin I have spawned on several worlds where my immediate base area was surrounded with Resin deposits, or even a Resin vein, but have often found myself somewhat devoid of readily available Compound. On my central world in my first game file, I've explored the entire surface of the planet and totaled 12 Resin veins but only 8 for Compound. I find it odd that the only thing Resin is used for, despite its apparent frequency greater than Compound, is building base nodes. Maybe some of the structures should also require Resin, such as Solar or Storage? The Backpack crafting is also heavily in favor of Compound, and I feel it really is just a bit unbalanced.

Excuse my bad English so was building base n the usual stuff went off on truck to bring back some Resin (truck with one seat and 3 storage units filled with resin n fuel) parked it n connected for power did a research on rand pod thing found when moved the truck there two were flying n i could not pic em up they just stay there even i found one on the ground(near back of research pod) which i couldn't pic up
  10. I imagine this is known already, but I've not heard it anywhere yet: When you log out and back in, all power, oxygen, resin and compound nodes seem to refill. This can current;y be exploited to have as much as you please of the above resources. I imagine the "fix" would be to remember each node's charge state as part of the save file (it doesn't seem to remember the state, but just refills it each login). Playing on PC, mouse & keyboard, steam version. Seems to be easily replicate-able. Video showing what I mean:
  11. Essentially, when one uses 2 resin components to grow your base and is in the area in which it will expand, you will get stuck. You can get clipped into the extension . PS: can be fixed if you are in windowed and transition to fullscreen.

    Node expansion bug

    Mouse/keyboard? Controller? Mouse/Keyboard Steam? Xbox? Steam What were you doing leading up to this bug? When I started playing, I used 1 resin to create a node. Then, standing next to it, I used 2 resin to expand the node. When it expanded, it clipped in my character, who started doing a falling animation. I was stuck there for about 10-15 seconds, pushing various buttons to get out. Finally, the game unclipped me, putting my character on top of the platform. Any steps that we can take to reproduce the bug on our end is appreciated. It happened when I placed two resin and then confirmed the expansion. I was standing immediately next to the node, right where the platform would appear. I'm not sure what I pushed to get out, or if it automatically unclipped me after a time. Thank you for your time! This game is -amazing-! =)

    Resin, no Resin

    Not sure if you would call this a bug... But it says there is Resin in that pit.... I mean, I have dug farther out and deeper down looking for the additional resin... Nothing.
  14. Not sure if this was supposed to happen, but it seems the resource (resin in this case) reappeared in a place that I'd already mined....but the terrain didn't. win 10 64bit Steam version keyboard/mouse
  15. Resins should probably be converted from Organic resources and similarly for the Compound as well. For small plants it would require harvesting and allowing them to regrow so you can sow them later. Add multiple type of plants so that for large trees, you can destroy them to get the resource for converting, or attach a Extraction Unit and an optional inventory cache for long term resource gathering. If you destroy the tree to get a quick collection of resource it is unlikely to grow back, or you have to plant seedlings to collect them after a long cycle. If drilling for oil is added to the game, allow it to also be converted to Resin or Compounds too.

When creating multiple platforms in a line, it works fine, however, on game save and restart, all platforms after the one next to the original habitat, no longer connect image 1: shows me connected to platform 1 just fine image 2: The 2nd platform wont let me be tethered to it (notice my oxygen level) Image 3: the reason how i noticed, and the "and more" part of this bug report: platforms want to be upgraded despite the "connections" (might have to do with the disconnecting as well) other info: Me and my friend were both playing this map, my friend was crashing alot, which is what prompted me to restart (PC)
