  1. --------BEGIN TRANSMISSION // Fellow Astroneers, I have been exploring this vast ocean of stars with friends for just over a year now, and like many of you, I have grown to love this game and it's beautiful depiction of it's solar system. Being heavily inspired by the feeling of pioneering, the intensity of a storm, the adrenaline of exploring strange worlds where no one has been before, I sought out to compose an album of 10 musical tracks that represent what Astroneer means to me. I realised as I composed, exploring the Universe was never a happy feeling, rather it was loneliness mixed with a sense of grandiosity. There was something comforting about seeing an impressive world with its' mountains and flora, even though I was the only creature to exist is such a vast system of planets, but the sense of being alone never halted. I tried to capture this emotion in my album titled, 'An Ocean of Stars'. My album consists of 10 tracks as listed below in the tracklist as well as a Prologue that features a sentiment to set the mood. I figured it was necessary to utilise electronic sounds that had a melancholy tone, as well as an orchestra which symbolised the imperfect and organic nature of humanity amongst the synthetic. I knew that the start of the album had to be hopeful, that the astronaut leaving Earth had to carry the aspirations of the entire Human species, and that as the album went on, the astronauts hope had to fade into a realisation that he would sacrifice himself for scientific advancement, leaving behind a legacy that would shape the future of our species. Incorporating all these elements into this album was a challenge to me, but it was something I thoroughly enjoyed and I am proud of. With the finished album available now on Spotify (and iTunes/SoundCloud), I feel there is more use to it, and after testing it out as a backing track for the game, I realise that it actually suits the game very well as an ambient soundtrack. I would like to offer my album to Astroneer for free, if you (the community and devs) enjoy it. If you have any feedback, I also welcome that. Why for free? Because, like that astronaut, I am willing to provide my music generously in the hope that it improves players experiences in the game even further with some new and different music. If you would like me to compose more music other than what I have already released just for Astroneer, I would also be honoured to do that!     Deconstruction

    I really wish their is a way to deconstruct base structures, because they take up so much room and sometimes aren't always fully used. When a player would deconstruct a structure the player should receive 50% back of what he put used to build that structure with. I hope you guys will add this feature to the game!!

  4. Minimum resolution allowed is still very high, not all people have a pc that runs the Minimum of this game, minimum resolution was to be 800x480 Pixels. So that it is accessible with more devices, for example I wanted to play a lot, but I can't because my notebook can't run this game with more than 25 FPS, this will make the game can be sold and searched in the future, within the gamer community. Currently the minimum resolution is 1280x720, Very high FOR MY VETERAN WAR NOTEBOOK!!!
  5. Since there is the biggest rover and rover, why do not you add a glider machine that can fly? It is an amazing idea, as it may be possible to explore the planet (not very wide) with this machine, so you can also see resources as far as the eye can see! Obviously this "glider" will be done with resources a little rare! 2 of resin, 1 of titanium and 1 of coal, so it will last a little longer!
  6. Hi it's been a while since i played astroneer. I checked my twitter and then... THERE IS A NEW .. UPDATE!! So yeah i'm now playing the game now, and wondering some questions, and ideas. My question is: What do this generator work? That generator on the base, iknow it's just a fun question. But it works at night so its not the solar panels on the roof. What kind of generator is it?

    Water World

    Water World I'm going to divide this idea into Six parts so you do not get confused Introduction and presentation of the planet: Based on a real planet called Gliese 1214b also called WaterWorld It is completely covered by water without a terrestrial layer on the outside, but if there is a terrestrial layer inside the planet, (probably 70% water and 30% land layer) (Illustrative image) Survival mode on the planet: making survival more complicated due to lack of oxygen since the planet is mostly water makes the survival of the player more complicated. also adding "the depth and pressure system" As it happens on Earth, the deeper it is in the ocean, the sea or the lake, there will be much weight for the subject collapsing, reducing the ability to breathe or killing the subject directly. Depth: In this part when falling to the water will reduce the oxygen of normal form as if the player has disconnected of its base reducing the oxygen of the backpack. High depth and high pressure: In this part the oxygen of the backpack will be reduced double or triple the normal speed reducing the view to a dark tone by the high pressure . Obviously, when the bar reaches zero oxygen, the player will die because of suffocation. So, how is it possible to place a base in the middle of the ocean with no land on the surface? Type of bases and modules: 1°) Marine Platform Here I contradict myself, but to create this base and add the modules we would need parts of land like small islands to sustain themselves this would be a level 1 platform with basic construction objects And finally we come to this: 2°) Floating Habitat In this type of base we will have our habitat floating in the middle of the water with some types of floats When you enter the planet, the parachutes in the air will open to decrease or reduce the shock between water and habitat And finally it looks more or less like this, the storage and the modules can be added to the floating habitat like any base in the terrestrial one adding floats also. But how is it possible to be displacedif you can not walk or run? New appearances and movements: Diving Suits replacing the astronaut suit with a diving one using the "Mark V" model from 1918, since it completely covers the body from head to toe as if it were a reskin of the astronaut suit but can only be used in water. It works as a complete replacement of the space suit for a full movement in the water to deploy at the same speed for example walking and running Using swimming animations to perform the movement and deployment of the player It may also go underwater but will reduce oxygen with the depth and pressure system explained above. Natural Changes: Rains this I like more like a wink to the planet "Kamino" of the saga Star Wars, It also works as a warning of thunderstrom Thunderstrom This is more dangerous than the normal rain due to electrical lightning that if it falls on one of the base objects it could deactivate them for a few minutes and if it falls on the player it is death assured volcano submarine This was an idea of "Utopic Vision" in the little amount of earth that there will be in the planet there will be movements of tectonic plates and they will carry out violent explosions and eruptions coming from the volcanoes, and would give the possibility of generating land in the outside. Vehicles: Submarine The submarines can go directly to the bottom of the ocean with load energy, like any terrestrial vehicle without having problems with the system of depth and pressure. The submarine could implement the tools and storage that are implemented in the other vehicles (cars, trucks, space ships). But that does not mean that you have a submarine and problem is resolved there will be rocks at the bottom of the planet that can clog your submarine and you will have to risk your life to use your Deform Tool to remove it (this may be optional)

    I play this game since the verry beginning and congratulation for everything that you made. Do you think that you can add bases or moduls like in subnautica for construct bases. (sorry for the mistackes i'm french^^)

  12. I truly believe this game will thrive with more than the current planets we have. It would be amazing to see new planets/systems you could travel to. This would obviously require a top-tier rocket but I believe that it will improve the core gameplay and bring in more players.
  13. I have purchased Astroneer yesterday and have already spent 10 hours on it. I have a suggestion: a machine that can be researched that will automatically fill canisters with soil. I got this idea when I spent 2 hours filling canisters with soil so that I could use them in the Mineral Extractor and found that it is very so a grind. I fully understand this but, my idea is that this machine works slower than a player could fill canisters. Of course for that you don't need to go somewhere and dig for 2 hours, instead you work on your base or do other things and come back to filled canisters. Please let me know what you think, and ask any questions you have about my idea. Thank you!
  14. A list of some bugs found in the new update: Plants still losing their textures on reload of saved games if their cores have been removed. (Thought this was fixed in previous patch notes, maybe not. Bad memory.) While sitting in the pod an overhead storm was "targeting" my avatar. There was 0 random scatter of debris it was all just flying from the storm directly at the pod. Feels different than old storms. After reload some detached plants came back and were floating in the air near where they were originally planted. They weren't alive, but couldn't be interacted with. While suffocating I ran to a tether and was attached by a blue line, but my tank would not fill. Lights were on, tethers were connected. Died, went back, everything fine. Hasn't happened again.

    Equipment for Player?

    I just thought it would be cool if you added some kind of way to add special equipment to your astronaut which would give different perks like climbing gear would help you climb up terrain, jetpack would help you jump highter, etc. Would this take away the whole terrain tool purpose or would this be really cool?
  16. Hello! You have a chance to make this game great again. Just add more items, more buildings... something! Instead of fixing the bugs... Just add more parts (take some ideas from the Kerbal Space Program). Or are you on Maldives already and some indian guys are patching the game?

    Hello System Era, I love how ASTRONEER is coming out and i got some new ideas to share with you guys. First Of all, Its navigation, Add signboard system. Suppose if we have Multiple Tether line connected to the main base and going in different directions And they are going pretty far that we cannot see the end. it would be difficult to know where they are going. So, i request you to add a SignBoard system so that we (player) can Place them down on the ground wherever they want and know where the tether line is going basically and not only for tether lines but for many other useful stuffs. I hope you guys found my idea useful and if you then please try to add it. Thank You! - TheSpaceGuy

    Climbable rope?

    I have no idea if this has been suggested before or not, but I was wondering whether or not why something like organ material can't be used to make something like rope? So that when there's a sharp cliff, and you can't handle the deformer tool reliably enough to make a climbable slope, we can use the rope to climb up... and perhaps it'd be kinda like the tether, where you get a stack of, say, 15, that can reach about where you can deform... or you can put in something like a ladder, or both

  21. My idea is to add a platform that would be specifically be used for generating and storing power. Item: Power Station Function: Consolidated location for generating Description: This platform would have three Double ports for power production. (Solor, Wind, Coal) Item: Power Storage Station Function: Consolidated location for storing power Description: This platform would have four Double ports for connecting batteries. I envision it as two towers each holding two batteries. You would find these via research that only allows you to build the platforms. You'll need to use the printer to produce the parts. I thought of this after seeing many sprawling bases filled up with all sorts power generators and storage. I thought it would be cool to have platforms to consolidate them so bases wouldn't have to be so spread out. It would also help players that land in confined spaces, or prefer to make small bases.

  23. Has 4 hrs on record so far. I watched jacksepticeye play this and it only took the first 1/2 of the video then I decided to buy it. Just going to go over some things listed in the title. >>I like: The fact you guys are not making the game revolve around block type terrain like mincraft. You can go to other planets,fill in holes/terrain gen. You are the only thing that can limit yourself to what you can do (besides whats not in the game). >>I don't like: If your smelter slots are full on the outside you lose ore if you put anymore than 1 in it. Make the time out when the vehicle flips a little longer so it doesn't fling you out till you've stopped moving The fact if you don't know to make all platforms before you build actual machines cause you can't add a platform off a machine The vehicle physics, they are basically balloons with wheels and flip a lot. The vehicle turning should be selectable between arrows or mouse not both. >>What could be added to the game: What others have said that I agree with: Maybe hunger..... I mean you to have power and o2 so far. Make the rocks delete easier. Gas mask for the spore plants. Maybe monsters but not on the starting planet. I'm sure ill think of more in the future either way its great.
  24. Something that would make your habitat a lot better... wait for it. A big storage... Instead of having a machine like the printer or smelter pop up. It would be one of the big storange containers. it would allow for more storage on the habitat rather than depending on vehicles.
  25. Ever wanted to settle a base in a new area with the space shuttle? I AM SORRY BUT THATS NOT POSSIBLE. Quote "Did you already use the space shuttle?" (Quote is at the end of the page) When I went to a other location with the space shuttle, saw I that you'r very limited with exploring. Because the only thing you had was a space shuttle. You need to get oxygin. if you could build a new base you could also get: power, printer, vechicle builder, etc, etc. I really want to see that you can build (a) new base(s). I would like if you can mayby sent like an new space shuttle in. or cut of the top of the space shuttle then you get a sort of big battery Mayby something like this? ------------------------------------>>>>
