The reason I really want to suggest this is because when me and my friend play we like exploring. Although we find it hard to set up connecting bases of operations around a planet. We like going into caves, mining everything we can find. As well as gathering as much research as we can. The problem comes when we get full we either have to run all the way back to the base or if we have our rovers with us we try and get them out of the cave. (I don’t know about y'all but getting the rovers out can be a pain depending on how deep you are, and if you have a smooth path. and if you cave connecting rovers it can be much harder.) My solution is having the ability to have a train system. This way it can make it easier to get from one place to the next fast and easy. (as long as you place the tracks effectively.) This system can work for exploring underground or connecting different bases on a planet together. Pros: -Fast and easy travel -Can hold as much as a truck -Can have multiple carts (maybe max of 3-4?) -Hovers over rails so its smoother then a rover -Has rails so you can set out the exact path to take (with a rover you could accidentally crash into a small ravine or fall in a cave. Thus, having to dig yourself out) Cons: -Expensive (could cost 4 titanium per cart and 2 titanium per set of rails? Making this more of a late game item. Also adding to the grind having to mine more and trading things more so you can get the materials you need) -Only goes from one point to another, no free exploring. (still have to use rovers early game) -More power hungry so your base will have to have sustainable energy. Possibilities: -Could probably have a system of rails connecting multiple points. (instead of point to point it could take multiple routs.) -Rails could carry power to train so along as the base has power your train has power. (unlike rovers where you have to use up a slot for a solar panel, or something to keep it powered.) -Could have different levels of trains. (like the rover/ truck and the small/big shuttle) -Could have a specific platform like a docking station instead of using the vehicle bay (this way the rails don’t get in the way of the ships and the rovers.) -could hold a drill so you someone can dig out a path while a friend sets up the rails. I personally think this would be an amazing addition to the game. Let me know what you think? Would this help you out in gameplay? How would you make it better? All feedback is appreciated The 3D model is a rough concept I quickly came up with, trying to follow the look of the rovers a bit. (concept model can always be changed.)

My idea is a new item that can attach to the top of tethers which acts like beacons but work at a shorter range than normal beacons I included an illustration in the files below of how it would work i would love for people's feedback . 2020-06-27_210809.pdf

2. Upgrader Research Cost: 2,500 Bytes Material Cost: 1x Graphene & 1x Compound (or Plastic?) Size: M Description: A Deployable Item that can upgrade any item to its next size (adequate space required) for less/simpler materials than what it would cost to make them from scratch via infusion. Up to 3 resource pieces can be used to upgrade modules. Also useful for preventing base clutter. Can upgrade 6 small items, OR 4 medium items, OR 2 large items. Visuals: Double tetrahedron shape with one tip as the attachment point to the upgradable item. On the opposite end each side holds one resource. Upgradable items Small: Small Solar Panel: 1x Glass Small Wind Turbine: 1x Ceramic Small Battery: 1x Zinc Small Generator: 1x Tungsten Medium: Medium Platform A & C(to LP A): 1x Resin Medium Platform B (to LP B): 1x Resin Medium Storage: 2x Ceramic Medium Storage Silo (2 options): 2x Aluminium Alloy or Steel Medium Solar Panel (unattached): 1x Compound and Graphene Rover Seat: 1x Plastic and Compound Medium Shredder: 1x Tungsten Medium T-platform: 1x Tungsten Large: Large Platform A (to EXP A): 1x Iron and 2x Ceramic Large Platform B (to EXP C): 1x Iron, Steel and Carbon Large Shredder: 1x Tungsten Carbide, Steel and Carbon My Ideas (Subject to Change): Soil Centrifuge (to XL Soil Centrifuge): 1x Silicone, Quartz and Tungsten Carbide Canister (to Soil Tank or silo): 1x Plastic or Silicone Whether it be a missed item, better resource mapping or anything else, PLEASE suggest and correct. This is far from perfect and I want it to be closer to that. Inspired by the Astroneer Roadmap

I know that each planet is going to have different types of weather system but I would to get into the effects and new stuff they can add into the game which uses the weather/storm. Storms should carry debris and research pods which when hits the astroneer should cause some damage, these debris and research pods could be captured by a new item - The Net - Researched for 1500 bytes Recipe - 1 Plastic and 2 rubber Built by - Medium Platform Can look something like this- Every time a storm hits the net should opened manually or the net should have a sensor which senses an upcoming storm and opens by itself which should also have a probability of getting a debris or a research pod like- Debris probability - 75% small debris ,15% medium, 5% large debris and the other 5% should have nothing in the net(bad luck). Research pod probability - 25% any research pod , 75% nothing The net can have other uses like used as a life saver/trampoline i.e. when jumped off a very large height the net should be able to catch the astronomer without any fall damage. The net should also have a rotating system(manual/automatic) so that it catches debris and pods to its maximum potential. Storms should boost the power generated by the wind vanes by 100% i.e. 2x power generation during storms and all the solar panels, arrays should stop working due to the storm, even all the other items should stop woking during storms while displaying "Paused due to storm" which can again be resumed later. Covering yourself(Astroneer) with a wall will not cancel the effect of storm on you, you are only safe in a habitat or a seat or by digging down to enter the cave system meaning that the storm will have no effect in caves. If you die during a storm , you shall loose some of the times available in your back pack. Storms can be of different types on different planets Sylva - Default storm Desolo - No storm Calidor - It should have a really strong sandy storms(difficult to see through) which carries huge amount of sand and if you jump it should also carry you for some distance, like reduced gravity. Vesania - Calm storms i.e. it should have clear storms but with very high winds, also the storm can contain some seeds of exotic plants which can be captured in nets, since Vesania is filled with rich flora. Novus - It can have those tumbleweeds in the storms which we used to have in the early access. Glacio - It should have a snowy storm which should cover you up in layers of snow if you stand in one place for a long time Atrox - The storm here should be a toxic fallout in a particular region which should contain toxic gasses and when you enter into it will slowly start to die, hence advised not to enter that region. If you guys have any suggestions or new ideas then please comment down

This is an updated concept to my old one. The reason I really want to suggest this is because when me and my friend play we like exploring. This system can work for exploring underground or connecting different bases on a planet together. Pros: -Fast and easy travel -Can hold as much as a large rover -Can have multiple carts (maybe max of 3-4?) -Hovers over rails so its smoother then a rover and harder to lose -Has rails so you can set out the exact path to take (with a rover you could accidentally crash into a small ravine or fall in a cave. (still have to use rovers early game or to scout out areas) -More power hungry so your base will have to have sustainable energy. Possibilities: -Could probably have a system of rails connecting multiple points. (instead of point to point it could take multiple routs.) -Rails could carry power to train so as long as the base has power your train has power. This is the updated version of the train based off of the new rovers that came to the game. They can still use some work with the design but this is what i have so far. (all 3D models and textures where created by me Killershadow115) Sorry for the late update been busy. Here is a refined version based on the new rover model they have. I hope they add something like this to the game or if they allow modding I’ll be happy to provide all the models and textures necessary to whoever wants to mod it in, if that time ever comes.
