    Lighting Bug

    So i have been experincing some sort of tether light limit or something, tether to left was placed hour 1, tether to right was placed hour 13. Has anyone else had this problem?
  2. I must say it frankly. This game as an enormous potential. I say that because I think it's missing ONE thing that would make this game truly amazing. It's missing the one thing that make me not want to come back and enjoy it fully... wiring @astroneergame. The foundation for wiring is there, @astroneergame , it's there. So much potential is wasted because no form of wiring is there. The ring platform where you go in it and it activate ? Cool, but useless because it's only there. If only there was wiring so I can connect it to other. See this firework field (WIP) ? If only there was some wiring so I can connect all of them together which would allow me, with the press of a SINGLE button, launch them all and enjoy it. Without it, I need to walk up to them, press a button, have time to distance myself and not enjoy it, because I can't be fast enough to activate them all and enjoy it from far away. If only there was wiring, so I could do some cool lighting setup which, on the press of a button, could light up in some way. Combined with logic gate, I could make a calculator, a computer, all of that in Astroneer. ONLY if there was WIRING. Please @astroneergame , add wiring. This was copy-pasted from my Twitter. So sorry for all the mentions. Wiring is the main suggestion here, but of course, this means that more things need to come with it to make wiring truly good. Here are the suggestions I can think off the top of my head. Not as detailed & explained as my take on wiring above, but enough to get the idea: • Logic gates: Logic gates would allow people to make some really neat circuit which could be combined with a lot of stuff. These mostly goes along with the other suggestion below • Colored lighting (At this point, colored tether too): It's christmas all over again ! Except this time, you can choose the color and activate it with wiring ! Along with logic gates, do all sort of crazy stuff. But what if ? • Sensor: Sensor for night/day, sensor for "is machine activated/working?", sensor for player, sensor for vehicle, sensor for "item in storage", sensor for everything ! Now, you can make your colored halloween light go on only at night ! Hmmm, this make me think. • Vehicle de-loader !: Now, me and my friend sometime (A lot of time actually) goes on "planetary expedition" with a rover setup that allow us to store A LOT of stuff. So much so that when full, it can take us from 30m to 1h to unload it and store it correctly. Imagine this. You come back to your base with the vehicle and you just position it at the side or under or whatever systemera give us and it unload automatically ! Now, if we can only get... • Conveyor ! Or something that can organize item on storage (I'm thinking Buildcraft mod in Minecraft): Now this. Combined with the vehicle de-loader, would allow us to just have your vehicle deload and the conveyor will organize it between the setting you put on the storage or the machine you decide ! No more time lost because you need to make your storage all organized ! Gosh, so much time saved. • Piston ! Or some forms of it: Now I'm daydreaming, but if SystemEra can pull this off, maybe I'll not be daydreaming afterall. Some forms of machinery that allow us to move stuff. Or to make stuff disapear. So you can combine the previously mentionned player sensor to do something like a door to your base... or some kind of trap, if you are that type of player. Just make sure if you do a trap that you collect the stuff dropped by the victim with the conveyor Do you have any other idea to add ? Don't hesitate ! I'm sure if we say the immense potential this have for Astroneer, SystemEra will give it to us ! So continue to give idea to show them how good it's gonna be if they implement this !   3. Summary: 1.8.64.0 - Steam - Tether Lights Broken Description: After starting a new game and running for while, newly-placed tethers stop emitting light despite being connected to the oxygenator. Reloading the save seems to correctly light all currently-placed tethers but new ones emit no light. This is a purely aesthetic bug but it makes spelunking difficult until one can build a worklight. Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: 1.8.64.0 Specifications: OS: Windows 7 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.00 GHz GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 2GB RAM: 8 GB (uncertain brand) Drive: 1 TB (uncertain brand) (Cave exploring is a bit rough like this...)

    Night lighting

    hello all I really like to explore planet surfaces alot, but night time puts me off SO much I cannot see a thing. Well probably it is possible to put lanterns all over the planet... no really I do not like that idea. And I was thinking, we have there lots of stars and planets/moons to reflect some sun light during the night time - can we please make the night darkness on the surface less dark? Let it be lit with cold bluish light of the stars but in the way to still have visibility around? Please? This darkness is so depressing...

    Helmet Light System

    Hi there, I wanted to re-post my suggestion for a Headlight toggle or sensor. The headlight is always on, even during the day. I was thinking that maybe we could have the ability to turn it off, or maybe a daylight sensor so it automatically turns off? Technology is very advanced in this game, and a daylight sensor is quite far from high-tech. I posted this suggestion last year and some people liked the idea, and I still think it could be a nice little addition (Having the headlight on during the day seems a bit, unusual.) I wanted to re-post this suggestion because the other post I stupidly claimed that the game was way too bright, although it was simply an error on my end, and it sparked a secondary discussion in the post. I don't want that to happen again, so here to start a new. Would love to know if anybody else would want something like this, or if it's a bad idea. I will not be pestering anybody to make this possible in the game, this is the last time I will repost this suggestion. Thanks.
  6. (sry if I made some spelling mistakes but I did my best hope you guys like it Hey Explorers! I was sitting in my shelter for the storm and I tought that there was only one event the storm itself nothing else, and I ran into the idea of a comet event. The comet canbe visited for a short amount of time and can be only seen from a the planets who it passes true (not the beginner planet) the comet itself is like a tiny mine with a resource that can be only found on te comet itself nowhere else. My second event is a meteor rain when a planet or a part of a planets surface has no resources left there (maybe) a meteor rain that hit the surface of the planet it can be seen from space where the meteors hit so you can land there also it can be a event where a meteor hits your base and blows a part of your base to pieces. The thirt event is a earthquake destroying bases and flattens the ground fun for some action and also more dum I think the damage still shout be light because losing you hole base is very very anouying when youre trying to explore a planet. (plus I think its not very fun to lose your base in this way its way cooler if a meteor hits your base and then BOOOM!!!! EVERYTHING IS GONE this way is a lot more fun to see and happen) Material Waste such as from making copper or any metal that there is material waste that is dangerous. This makes getting materials harder and more of a challenge (I think its a little weird to just mine and have resources by instand)With this idea I want to make a place to dumb my waste underground to another planet or just next to my base gives me a little my toxic in game it can be also damaging your health when your just dumping it in the open and plants will die (not something that realy is astroneer like but still very cool and stil fits ingame) A builting system just like subnautica [game on steam = http://store.steampowered.com/app/264710/Subnautica/ ] make it that you can built above ground and under and use this last added base building system as a scout base ez to pack up and move (like a mongolian yurt) I like the base system now its just and idea this is just a lot of work to add and the base buildings system has been updated not long ago soo I dont exspect much Some random toughts A knockout time before you die to oxigen soo that your friend can save you when youre exploring in a cave (needs oxigen tank to save a friend) better rendered planet on the horizon metal detector to find metal true the ground better rocket landing on planets lighting when storming able to rappel mountens/or with picaxes

  8. Summary: 0.6.8.0 - Steam - Lighting appears over all terrain. Everything is decently visible and nights are not dark. Description: Discovered that this was a bug when I changed resolutions. I've attached two pictures of the same location, the light one is how the game has been for this whole save (new game for this patch) and the dark one is when I change resolutions (as soon as I move the camera, the lights return and everything is visible) I assume that the game is supposed to be dark, especially in a cave. Platform: Steam / Windows 10 Version / Build Number: 0.6.8.0 Specifications: OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel i7-7700 GPU: Geforce GTX 970 RAM: 16GB Drive: Kingston SSD 240GB (SKC300S37A240G)

    Underground lighting

    I have a giant cavern under my base that I get soil from. It is extremely large at this point and is verdy dark other than my tethers. I brought a large platform covered in work lights down there and it was basically useless after being powered. I was thinking maybe have a flora spawn on the walls and such that glows or have a torch system.
  10. It would be great to have lights as a researchable item in the game to be used inside constructed building, caves and even outdoor base stations. In keeping with the way the research is currently done I see the lights being formed in two manners. From within the Astroneers Backpack a string of small wall/ceiling lights to be formed in the same way Tethers are currently made and used. While at the Printer, a larger floodlight on a pole can be constructed to light up the outdoor areas

  12. When caving in multiplayer on Xbox one, the tethers only seem to provide light for the game host.
  13. Note how the image sequence shows the lighting of clouds in the distance being affected by the flashlight as the camera is panned right to left. Although not critical to the function of the game it should be fixed for realism. [devs: the italicized sentence is for other players, I know you understand your priorities]

    Area Lighting

    The light your character comes with by default is nice and has a nice feel for the exploration bit, however it would be nice if we could unlock a backpack attachment that would give us light in a small 360 degree radius in addition to our head light. The problem with the basic light tends to be caves in small tunnels, you have to have your character move to change where the light shines making it hard to see where you are going in a bunch of intersecting tunnels, the light upgrade would be of great use here and as a trade off you will lose an attachment slot to use the 360 degree light.
