    1.1.3 - XBOX ONE - LAG

    Hi there. So at first, I only got lag on my Xbox One X, when someone would join my world, and then would stay laggy, even when they left, until I would save & quit. However, my Solo World has started to lag severely, making it really tedious to do really anything. Has anybody else experienced this? Does anyone know what could reduce and/or get rid of said lag? Thanks.

    Is it just xbox one players that are having this issue because since 1.0 I've experienced a tremendous amount of lag during my solo gamely anyone else having this problem

    Friend Glitch

    When my friends join my game it makes me (the host) begin to lag like I am in slow motion. I checked to see if it was my internet but I have a 17 ping when this happens.
  4. Hi everyone, I have had high hopes for multiplayer since release but we are still running into many issues with playing. A bit of background I have been playing since EA and shelved the game for release in hope some of the niggling bugs in MP were fixed. Alas, the game is a lot more unplayable than it was in EA. I have sent in multiple crash reports, but I thought I would collate all the issues in this thread. MAJOR ISSUES: The host launching a shuttle can cause players connected to crash out of the game Sometimes, when a player is in orbit (not host) they cannot land their shuttle, here is a screenshot of what this looks like; I would like to add, this is a common occurrence, we have around 7 large shuttles in space with a lot of materials and what not. The player (again not host) will crash in orbit, again leaving a rouge shuttle in orbit The game becomes virtually unplayable, with the clients only sitting on arounf 1FPS, this makes the game extremely awful to play. Quitting and re-entering the MP game may or maynot alleviate the issues... and if it does it is only temporary. Many desync the clients will run into, soil/rock floating in the air (which you cannot drive through on a rover) or entire chunks of the environment re-appearing, which in turn will cause loss of equipment and death. Picture as follows; Storage/items will spontaneously disappear and never return When client crashes, you may or may not come back with your inventory/mods. It seems to be the luck of the draw. MINOR ISSUES: Random Graphical stuff and things, similar to the image you see below. To be honest, these crack me up but I would like to see them fixed Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing things like this, I would like to know that I am not alone out there in the various things that are keeping me from fully enjkoying the shit out of this game! Currently astroneer has a major lag issue on the xbox one even after the last performance update, fresh worlds run smooth and going from an older world to a new one makes astroneer feel like a new game going from 10fps to 60. I have no idea what's going on but the more me and a few friends of mine progress(multiplayer or single) the slower the worlds become and the more lag we experience regardless if we are on a new planet or not. Not long ago astroneer crashed and kicked me to the xbox home screen because the lag was so massive in a multiplayer game. There has always been lag to a severe degree in the xbox one version and I could excuse it when it was in beta but now that its 1.0 and up I cant justify these issues. Please work on another performance update for the consoles.

  7. Dear Devs, why are there no answers to the problems and technical condition of Astroneer? For many players, the game has become unplayable and many will follow if nothing changes. Your game is awesome and just perfect for calming down. The mechanics and the implementation are terrific. All no question. But the technical condition is worse than in most betas. Why is that all? Why was it released anyway? You know I am not alone and many would like to hear an information or statement and answer our questions. Even if the problem is unknown and it still lasts, this info would be sufficient and better than to mention. Many want to know how the stand is and why they can not continue playing. I personally have been releasing over 200 hours of play in 3 savegames together. I started a new game after almost every patch because I wanted to avoid mistakes in the savegame by prepatch files. You know of all the problems, please respond to this and do not bring up the trouble. Even if there are problems and these are still going on, this info is gold value. With more transparency, we would know what's going on and then experience when we can really play again and not always be disappointed. Follow every little patch in hope there is the cure is annoying. Whether you do it in your own form or we put our own questions together. Of which we choose the X most important. Nothing about features or gameplay, only "serious" issues that make the game unplayable. Please communicate with us and give honest information. Greetings.
  8. Ever since the most recent update this game crashes on multiplayer, on actions of host. Save? Dashboard. Slide? Dashboard. Teleport? Dashboard. Randomly? Dashboard. As soon as anyone enters the game, I lag hard core. This game isnt fun anymore. And by the feedback left here, it seems developer doesn't care. You had a good thing on your hands. 2 updates back to back, and now this game is unplayable for anyone with friends.

    Research Bug

    This bug happens whilst I am researching. Whilst researching the game becomes very laggy and slow. It doesn’t matter which planet I am on it’s just as long as I’m researching, as soon as I take the research off, the game becomes normal Im playing on Xbox

So i loaded up my world on xbox I am currently on vesania in my world setting up a base and looking for titanium, so I walked over to my base and that's when my medium wind turbines started generating power and I started lagging super bad, i walked around and tried to find out what was causing it and i learned lag stopped when my researchers(I have 2 running) stopped so I assume its because of them.

    System lag on xbox

    So love the game been playing since pre release so i want to let yall know and im sure my Gf and i are not the only ones having this issue. so When my gf or i place tethers in single and multiplayer the game will lag also when playing on multiplayer if we get to far apart the game will lag extreamly bad to the point close to making it unplayable this is on the xbox version of the game. it seems like the game is trying to render what she is seeing on her end as well as whats on my end making the games lag out badly. as i stated we love this game. keep up the good work devs!

    Latency issues

    Hello guys, First of all, congratulations on your release! We've followed the game since Early-Access day 1 and Astroneer's journey is remarkable! I love your game! I'd like to address an issue I add with a couple of friends while playing the game once released. Even though we have no issue of lagging at all while playing solo, we experienced huge lags in multiplayer and - unfortunately - had to stop! I think that this is mainly due to the fact that both of my friends were in the US and I was in Europe... (I am pretty sure it is important to mention that, haha!) Can you explain the concept of "HOST" on a multiplayer? Is the console of the player that is hosting responsible for the merge of everyone's actions? Will multi-continent play be possible at some point? Thanks again for the journey, I hope you will be able to address the issue!

I´am playing Astroneer on X Box one Release Version Bugs i found so far: Lag after full build Station Game crashes when sliding Storage can't be taken of Tractor (Front) (found out, you can unplug storage if you unplug the Trailer) Items still falling through the ground and disappear Vehicle does not start after entering. Need to leave Vehicle and enter again. Sometimes three or more times. Vehicle was powered with RTG Had once: Digging out big piece of space station, space station flying through the map, landing in my base. Same thing with a tree. Why is there no option to quit the game without saving? As long as the Game has issues like loosing items, there should be the option to quit without saving, just to get Items back and save work. I like the new trees and plants.

    Fix Tethers

    Tethers are broken. On my base on Sylva, I would get extreme lag whenever I would do anything with tethers. I assume this lag is caused by the game checking if a tether is powered, and to do that it needs to check all the tethers until there are no more tethers to check. I have to have oxygenators spread throughout my tether lines so I can actually explore. I have always wanted to cover an entire planet with tethers, but that would make my computer explode. pls fix

Xbox one s version is completely unplayable, it lags as soon as you land next to habitat and continues to get worse till 3 minutes playing the game freezes and then crashes theres no excuse for this, I now understand the only thing about console players game devs care about is our money I mean fallout 76 plays better than this and that's saying something.
  16. Hello all, first of all, sorry for the book... Really good new base-building update, the potential for this game skyrocketed(no pun intended). I don't wanna be a downer here, but I don't know if it was the new base building update or a different one. Now I experience jitters most likely caused by poor rendering optimization in the game and unneeded clutter? I do realize the game is in alpha stages, but all the other updates I have played from the very beginning when the game first came out, I didn't have this issue(btw I haven't changed my pc throughout the years of playing astroneer)... With vsync off I get around 100 fps +(fps jumps around a lot which causes jitters.) I have also tried editing the engine settings in the astro folder, (that gets me around 200 to 300 fps +, sure, this is really good, but I still experience jitters when my fps *jumps around*) with vsync on I get obviously 60, but it jumps down to 58 randomly or even lower(possibly when it renders clutter) when it goes to 58 and immediately back to 60 or 61, I get a really quick lag spike, its annoying the heck outta me considering it happens almost every time it renders something. It's ruining the update for me :(, anybody know a fix? I got a gtx 1070 with an i5 core processor. it seems this is out of my control. possibly just gonna have to wait for a new bug fix for it? unless someone knows how to stabilize the fps in-game... Things Ive tried: - changing all graphics settings to low - turning off sound - tinkering in the game folder - running on windowed mode - running on fullscreen - creating a new save - deleting all my saves - reinstalling the game on steam - updating my drivers - adding Astroneer on the Nvidia control panel - resetting settings in-game - closing all unneeded applications - turning off steam fps counter - defraging my hard drive - verifying intregrity of game files... After doing all these things, I think its safe to say this is a game optimization issue, hope it is fixed soon... <3

    Severe Lag

    Hi there! So, my friend is the host for a session for me and my friend. We all play together and we had a lot of fun, that is until we started noticing major fps drops as we played the game further and further. The weird thing is that the host lags severely (10-20 fps constantly) when my other friend and I are on, but when just the host is on there is major lag. Please help 😧 I don't want it to get to the point where it is unplayable.

    Teather bugs the game

    my astroneer keeps on lagging, i was playing with my friends and we all had 5 fps. we tried removing all of our teathers and the lag went away. plz fix this as it is killing the experince and fun of the game. PS. really love the update though

    pls fix the lag

    the lag is horrible and it gets way worse when you try to play with friends. Especially when you have multiple items being researched at once or just multiple active tethers. We need an update to fix this ASAP without it the game is unbearable!
  21. 1.0 is not a Full release in technical analysis. Still love the update though. (Amazing additions, and I understand the "Bug/Code" business, don't get me wrong.) Let us begin with Coder/Developer technical definitions, so none are misled by this common label language: Beta: Beta phase generally begins when the software is feature complete but likely to contain a number of known or unknown bugs.[4] Software in the beta phase will generally have many more bugs in it than completed software, speed or performance issues, and may still cause crashes or data loss. The focus of beta testing is reducing impacts to users, often incorporating usability testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release and this is typically the first time that the software is available outside of the organization that developed it. Beta version software is often useful for demonstrations and previews within an organization and to prospective customers. Some developers refer to this stage as a preview, preview release, prototype, technical preview / technology preview (TP),[5] or early access. Astroneer in my opinion, is still deep in Beta zone. On the Edge of Escaping the Dark Forest, but not quite there~ WHY? What do I base this on? - Functionality to a "Regular Gamer" - Universal definitions used by developers, coders AND gamers (See Beta Definition ABOVE.) - vehicles still phase through the ground - Objects still phase through ground or vanish - Multiplayer is impossible on lag - Solo game lags hard once the terrain has been altered - Objects and tools will clip through terrain - (New issue) Double visioned object ghosts. Seeing duplicates of objects or their name labels, floating in mirror image away from the tagged object. Losing interactions. - The new "Hold Item" has no release or place function. - Still have not fixed BEACON visibility from distances - This in my opinion is the last bag of fixes for this game to be complete. So to a degree, this is pretty darned complete for any game ramping up. But I have to say these have to be fixed so the common player does not encounter these issues, and thus give Astroneer a bad running name as garbage, when it deserves more! We want new NON Alpha-Beta players to not get the wrong idea, seeing Astroneer tagged a complete game, when it is on the back end of Beta-- so it does not get a bad label and name in the judging gamer community as trash. Save Astroneers good game & Name! UPDATE! This post is not a BUG report, it is a REQUEST to TAG the game as BETA- so NON BETA players do not come in, and bad mouth the Project. Plain and simple. (cc: Official Forums, Astroneer Wiki, Message Blog) Please Obi-wan, you're our only Hope! I hope someone actually reads this and takes it to heart. You are not the Size company that can handle a ton of negative publicity in the game community. "Normal Gamers" are judgemental, opinionated & fickle, about the wrong things. Be warned. Your inviting them to spend their money.
  22. I see that performance issues have been addressed for the Xbox one but im on steam and I'm getting constant frame drops (lag) every 5 secs or so. I have picked up majority of my teathers as I thought that was the issue but it didn't fix it. And it is currently using up 98% sometimes 100% of my GPU as shown in the picture (Don't know if thats normal or not?). My PC is pretty beefy so i don't think its that cause i tested it on all low settings and still lag. Sorry for the ramble just letting you guys know! Great update though btw even with the lag i have still put many hours into 1.0!

So when you get in the game on update 1.0.1.0 on Xbox, if you have a lot of friends on Xbox and when you try to switch over to astropedia, options, or customization you have to go through the co-op and with all the friends you have it has to load all of them. I think that the co-op list that shows in the menu and when your playing should be removed or put to the very end. Or instead of forcing us to click RB when should be able to us LB to switch to the left of the menu screen. Because I have more than 800 friends on Xbox and it gets really annoying. Another thing is that anytime when a friend joins it lags the game hard and sometimes can crash unlike the co-op list we’re it will freeze the game or crash. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love the game. But it can do some more work with it’s lag mostly and worry about the other stuff later. Thanks if you do fix this problem. But the co-op menu list should be dealt with asap.
  24. I'm on Xbox and after 20 minutes or so of game play it slows down to a 1/4 the normal running speed. It's boarder line unplayable. Backing out to the main menu solves the problem for a short time. The strange thing is, it has nothing to do with online play because I am offline.

    Xbox Multiplayer Extreme Lag

    Astroneer or Lagoneer? The game becomes unplayable due to frame rate issues when I host friends. Playing alone seems to be okay. ..Xbox One X here.. Someone please tell me there's a fix for this ASAP.
