  1. Description: My friend glitched out then crashed while we were on Desolo. When he tried joining back, he was prompted with the character creation screen. When he launched, everything we worked hard that was on his backpack, was gone. Just, completely wiped. Please help us!     Plants spawning in the big purple

    So when i was playing i dug to the moons core and got killed by these. I cant dig them up and because of them i lost all my stuff. So as i was retreating my stuff i picked it up and then it started falling as the gravity of the core is a bit weird (i find it really cool btw) and then it disappeared. So if you can fix this and avoid Inventory to not fall towards the core and disappear that will be really neat.
  3. After placing a packager on an object, then shift clicking it off into your inventory, the item will float in mid air after you move. I encountered this while using a mouse and keyboard, so I can’t confirm if it happens with controller, but I’d suspect it will. Steps to reproduce: 1. Attach a packager to an appropriate item (tractor, debris, research item, etc.). 2. Without activating it, shift click the packager back into your inventory. The packager will appear to go into your backpack. 3. Move away from where you were standing. The miniaturized packager item will be floating in the spot where your backpack was. 4. After that, you can shift-click the miniature item to pick it up normally without issue. I know this is a minor issue, and currently it’s probbaly being overwhelmed by rover bugs and performance issues, but it still exists. Keep up the good work System Era. ❤️

  5. After returning to a place I died, I accessed my old backpack/inventory (while in a confined cave area) and the camera locked my view of the backpack/inventory to the right of the screen I got everthing, but barely
  6. So, I play on Xbox, and I find myself struggling with the controls of dragging items around. One thought, but not the point, custom key/button mappings on consoles, would be helpful. I also think using R Trigger to grab everything and confirming things hurt. I know pressing A works for crafting, but "prop" placement, wire pulling, and inventory management should be more thumb friendly for though of us who knew what the world was like before analog sticks. But to the point of my topic, being able to "define" what type of item fits where would help for managing items. You already kind of implement this with the Mineral Extractor and Gas buildings, with the hallow image of the canisters I can use my trigger to manage. But first lets talk locally to the player. I suggest, allow me to highlight a slot in my 2x4 inventory and press a button(maybe the bumpers, maybe B) to change the "border" of that slot. Then those colors are related to different types of items. White/Transparent/No Border = All items, Red = Canisters, Yellow = Power items (if not magnetized to those two aux plugs on the backpack), Green = Solid Resource. So then when I use the R trigger to pick up an item, and use x to store it, it will snap it to the appropriate slots. I think this should be applied to only the backpack slots though, and not the two plugs on the pack. To expand on this, even though we can see the items on our person, Id like a little set of colored invisible tags on the bottom left corner, showing how many spots of that type free. Then, if I'm trying to craft solar panels, I got an idea of how many spots I free for copper and the like. If I have to go further, I also think we should get those free inventory slots on the vacuum tool taken away. Mods only, with the ability to enable and disable at that slot. If you really want to give us more slots, you can put It on the bag somewhere. Limited Oxygen, Energy and Storage should be the "difficulty" in the game. Now, to back to where the hollow points come in. Now that we have some simpler method for character to right trigger stuff into their inventory, lets talk about unloading. I personally do a lot of dragging whole compartments things with 8 items on it from my vehicle to a pad and back with a fresh one. A lot of time, trying to put stuff directly on the comparements get cumbersome. As a organization point, the applying the method above would be just as usefull. When I'm holding the whole stack, I press a button and it changes the colored borders or something on it to note the change. Then when, even without any of those hollow points being shown, or just use a generic one like the trading post that I can R trigger and it will magnetize the first in the list of items in my inventory that qualify for that type. I don't care to get as finite where I can say "this compartment can only hold titatinum", but let me get a little more trigger happy with the compartments. Then Dragging crap like filled canisters and the abundant power supplies I find below can easily be dumped without hassel. Then, those stacks I drag around the area to get a bunch of raw metal refined, or putting down the copper for a group of I could go ON and ON about improvements about this game, but I'm trying to keep it short, sweet, and organized. Expect more suggestions/critisims. Good Game, a lot of potential.

  8. I have a minor annoyance than I think could be easily addressed (I think). When you backpack is stuffed and you have to unload your items one at a time. I noticed the backpack has the same amount of slots as a medium storage, so why no just be able to pop off the one on your back and put on an empty one? That way you could essentially put your backpack on a table/large storage. It would also allow you to create load outs. like one for mining with extra tethers and one for exploring with extra beacons. That kind of thing.

After this patch (5/8) i can no longer select the items on the backpack of the fallen astroneer.   10. Number of bugs that may or may-not be known Windows 10 PC, Steam download. Game version; (Alpha) 0.6.8.0 Backpack: from time to time if I try to Shift+click an item to put it on my backpack, the game is supposed to just say "Backpack full". However this does not happen and most of the time either throws my items across the map never to be seen again or sometimes my backpack just eats it. Particularly when I try to pick an item off my vehicle, but it happens other times as well... My most recent incident for example; I had 2 free spaces, both on my deform tool. My backpack contained 4 oxygen tanks, 2 in the aux spots and 2 in the top backpack slots, 4 canisters in the next 4 slots down (one partially filled), 1 full set of extenders, 1 piece of copper, and a boost augment active. I attempted to pick up; 2x small batteries and 1 Lithium. My deform tool accepted the 2 batteries, and my backpack showed the animation for picking up the lithium, but just ate it... Rover: from time to time when I want to use my rover to drive around, I cant get in, and I have to fight it to get in the seat. Most of the time my deform tool just equips and unequips itself repeatedly, and I have to jump on top of the vehicle to get in, yet it still sometimes persists even though the "press E" reticle appears. I believe its because of a line of sight conflict between the player and the vehicle itself, since he has to look at the seat to get in and pressing e on the rover doesn't work, you must look at the seat. (also while its not a bug, id like to add the driving mechanic is extremely difficult to use being there is no break, and pressing S just turns you around instead of slowing down and reversing half the time. the A/D keys should also just steer the wheels and not move the vehicle, as it moving the vehicle causes fidgety ultra sensitive strafing. Its also extremely annoying when you plug it in and the items on the front/back eject 20 meters away when you plug it in to charge). Research Chamber: While this only happened once, and I cant really comprehend how this happened or what was abnormal, but once I created a research chamber, placed it underground connected to and above ground power source. At the time I didnt know what the extenders were, being I couldnt research it yet, so I just chained together a line of small wind turbines to above ground and connected it to a solar source. Everything worked fine for a while, then the chamber stopped working altogether. I could start researching an item yet it acted as if it had no power, even though it clearly did. so I threw it away and created a new one that worked. later I used extenders and redid everything. even made a big underground checkpoint. Out of curiosity I pulled the old chamber back to the checkpoint and plugged it in, started researching, and it still acted as if it had no power, even though machines around it were clearly working. at that point I just buried it and forgot about it. Power Cords: Very minor but sometimes when the power input is fluctuating the arrow animation on one way cords will spasm out and flicker on and off. This fixes itself when the input is stable. Avatar: Stop pointing at it and PICK IT UP!!! Oh sorry moderators, not yelling at you. My character keeps pointing at the ground/item and wont pick it up. this is quite annoying when youre attempting to catch an item from falling Excavation: the symbol for resources will remain above the ground even after they have been excavated. Framerate: frequent reloading of the same part of a map when youre walking back and forth between places causes terrible frame stuttering. It would be helpful if there was a mip-mapping option and/or a chunk update distance. (Im using an i5-6200U with integrated 520, 8GB ddr4 ram (laptop). Not the recommended for this game but I can manage) Closing statement: I know this thread is filled with some negativity towards the game, so Id like to finish with positive feedback. This game is absolutely beautiful, extremely graphic even on low settings and unmistakably has an enormous amount of effort and time put into it. Even with these bugs it is greatly approved by me. This project has so much potential and is breath taking so far. Keep up the amazing development!
  11. 1. Mouse/keyboard? Controller? A. Controller 2. Steam? Xbox? A. Xbox one 3. What were you doing leading up to this bug? A. Killed by spike pod (the purple and red mushrooms that spear you with red spikes when your to close to them) after which i died and respawned (second death in game) went back to retrieve my items (after clearing the area of pods). After getting my items back i returned to my vehicle and I was unable to attach items to the storage spaces. Also tried to retrieve items from my back back but could not select them. it will allow me to retrieve items that are on the ground or in a storage but will not highlight them when i use my cursor/free look. 4. Any steps that we can take to reproduce the bug on our end is appreciated. A. I don't know exactly how to reproduce the bug (if i can at all). I have tried dying to spike pods again, as well as died and respawned multiple times and in different ways to see if it would fix the bug but the problem still persists. 5. This is only effective in some areas of the map however as it will not allow me to remove or insert items to / from my backpack or vehicle snap points it makes playing the game almost impossible. I have tried recreating the death to see if it would fix the issue as well as restarting the game (not the save file) both did nothing. The problem mainly happens when using the left trigger (aim/cursor mode). Although i would rather not do so i may have to restart the game and delete the file as it seems that nothing has worked to fix the issue at the moment I hope there is enough information here to show the problem and more so to fix it. The game is amazing and with the new updates i cant help but say that the game has only gotten better. I hope that it continues to grow and become an even better game in time (and hopefully with out any bugs)

Tell us about the bug Cannot pick up inventory or anything actually (unknown spaceship parts, unknown resource or just resources in general) When you die from suffocation I could pick it up out of the backpack and place it on the floor and pick it up. However, my friends who were the host of the game could not pick up anything or take anything. Steam? Xbox? Steam Give us as much information about the bug as possible: Mouse/keyboard? Controller? Commands on a keyboard. What were you doing leading up to this bug? Just casually exploring the cave and getting to know the game, first impressions are cool. But the bugs make it less enjoyable and frustrating for the most part
  13. Currently when a player leaves multiplayer, they die and drop items. it would be nice to see a mechanic that allows them to save their items and return to the game without a new pod and their body lying on the ground. something like the cryotube in Space Engineers.

    Small Pull Cart

    For me, inventory space feels sort of limited. There's no real "backpack" expansion, so you need to use rovers to lug around lots of stuff. What I think could be nice is a small cart attached to your backpack. It can be a slightly altered model of the backpack, with the shoulder pieces on the backpack being reused as small ropes attached to the bottom of the backpack, leaving only the main backpack spots open for items. You could put stuff on the back like extra batteries, oxygen tanks, or just for materials. For making it I think the best way would be in the printer for 2 aluminum, or compound, although that would make it really easy to get. I would post concept art, but I'm awful at drawing. Hopefully someone can try and draw this to better explain it.
  15. Playing on 64x Win 10 PC. Using Razer Keyboard and Mouse I believe this error occurred either while: building a ramp from the peak of a mountain to ground level - or - mining Compound with Tethers selected to be built. I was unable to select any items both in my inventory and on the terrain manipulator with my left mouse button. The mouse button still performed regularly outside the inventory. I attempted to resolve the issue by killing the current character and re-spawning, however I was still not able to select any items inside my previous character's inventory. I also noticed that rotating circular blue bar over the orange left and right button to change the crafting item. I don't remember that being there before, but it looks like the symbol for a connection point, either for vehicles or base expansion. Currently, I can't play this save file and I haven't tried starting a new game to see if it is a persistent issue.
  16. A long series of bugs that i have experienced due my friend flipping over in a vehicle BUG 1: Flipping vehicles. I am the host player and i usually play with a friend. My friends rover constantly flips when she drives it, mine works perfectly. However when we switched rovers, she still kept flipping over and I on her rover would apparently flip over randomly even while keeping it stationary. Sometimes the rover would be found flipped even though nobody was interacting with it. BUG 2: Only host can exit flipped vehicle Having her flip so many times made me realize that only the host can exit a flipped vehile. Which would require me to get off and help her. Usuallly digging a hole. However sometimes even after making a hole, she wouldn't get out. So i just picked up the seat from the rover. This in turn would make the rover fly. Sometimes it would come back after a bit of flight. Or it would just disappear. BUG 3: Host and 2nd player on the same rover If both of us are on the same rover and it flips accidentally, the moment i exit the rover and flip, it literally goes sky high taking both of us in the air. Enough height to kill us both, we were lucky to be next to a huge mountain. The rover was never seen again. BUG 4: Driver seat and Inventory Now leaving my vehicle so many times led to another bug. I could no longer interact with anything. I could only dig. Seemingly going in and out of the driver seat can fix this bug but also cause it. BUG 5: Respawn prefers Host When we both die together and respawn together. She cannot get out of the Habitat(dropship) that respawns us because my habitat lands directly over her habitat. Even after i come out and it leaves, she still cant get out.

    Power/Oxygen Specific Slots

    The backpack should have 4 extra slots on each side for batteries and oxygen. This would allow the player to hold up to 8 more items that can only be oxygen tanks or batteries. These spaces can not hold any other items. This way, players can have enough power/oxygen to mine through caves and collect soil without having to give up inventory space. Who wants to go cave exploring if they have to take multiple trips getting all of their discoveries to the surface? I would rather have my oxygen and power on the sides leaving space open to carry stuff up or to explore longer and carry more before I had to go back and drop items off.
  18. Summary: Mined Ore Taken into Full Backpack + Empty Terrain Tool, Disappears. Description: When the 8 main and 2 top backpack slots are occupied but the 3 terrain tool slots are free, mined ore will appear to be collected (and its respective collection sound will play), but will in fact be lost. No ore will appear anywhere in inventory (backpack or terrain tool), nor will the ore appear on or in the ground.   19. I am using the windows 10 version with a mouse/keyboard. The most recent update is the excavation update. While collecting any resource with a full back pack, the resource will sink thru the ground and can be found in one of two locations: Directly under where it sank in a cave, or on the other side of the planet (This is extremely rare though.)
  20. So I started a new save file on the new patch, my inventory is completely full, and decided to try put a canister in the slot you use for inventory item creation and close the inventory. This will launch you into space, untill you reopen your inventory or remove the thing.

    Broken Craft Inventory?

    I think i found a bug that i never encountered before ”Patch 0.2.115.0”. I wanted to craft some Tethers, so i can explore a cave. When i tried to craft those, the slot for the compound (where it should go if you craft) magically disappeared. Image below. Now, i can't craft tethers...cool. Fix?

  25. Summary: If you try to access your inventory while driving your rover you get kicked out of it and it seems to disappears. Repro Steps: 1.Drive Rover (Only Single Seat attached) 2.Press "Q" to open inventory/backpack Actual Results: Inventory opens like it should / Rover has disappeared.
