PS4 - Astroneer 1.8.64.0 - Bugs with Trophies
HolyKnightAsuna posted a topic in Bug Reports, Crashes
The first bug found is with the achievements related to collecting/smelting/etc all possible resources, which does not give a trophy in the PS system. I have went out and made sure it was not a personal error by doing over everything I believed was collected/smelted/etc. The second bug is with the suits and color palettes related to activating the core of a planet, which does not unlock even after a restart. This is isolated to certain achievements because I received the suit for locating the Kepler Telescope. The third bug found is with the progress of the Project CHEER Request Platform, which deletes any progress after exiting the game and reloading. The second bug did give a PS trophy. -
Summary: Landing spots generated on top of gateways cause a repeatable softlock. Description: If a landing spot generated by the game (not player-made landing pads) is too close to a gateway, as often happens on Desolo, it may cause a softlock when attempting to land a shuttle there. This softlock varies in timing between repeated attempts but remains consistent per save to specific landing sites, and most often causes the shuttle to freeze in midair at some point during the landing cutscene. The only option is to quit to the main menu and reload the save. Further reading on the legacy of this bug: https://www.reddit.com/r/Astroneer/comments/id5og9/small_shuttle_stuck_in_landing_cutscene/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Astroneer/comments/inbowl/shuttle_stuck_after_selecting_landing_zone/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Astroneer/comments/iryvk1/shuttle_gets_stuck_when_landing/ This has clearly been around a while in some form or other. I have backed up my save which is attached - if you follow these instructions, you will be able to troubleshoot this bug using my save, unless there's some hardware specific weirdness going on. I have tested on a friend's PC and it still occurs with this save. This save is a "solo" save which has not been used for multiplayer co-op. How to Replicate: 1. Load save provided. 2. Immediately, launch to another planet (V) 3. Select Desolo. 4. Select the landing spot closest to the gateway that will appear at the top of your screen (See the attached screenshots) Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: 119 (1.19.134.0) Specifications: OS: Win 10 CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 RAM: 16GB Drive: SAMSUNG MZVLB256HAHQ SSD SAVE_2$2021.04.16-21.30.46.savegame

I suppose it doesn't depend on a system so i wont describe pc. Let me just say all is smooth and good on my xiaomi note pro. Steam version.' I was trying to activate gateway on Desolo when accidently left my rover on the center triangle of a chamber. When i powered the chamber the triangle moved up and pushed my rover so it flyes pretty high (and it was the biggest one). I thought i could make some fun with this effect which looked nice and trustworthy, so i stood up on a center and pulled the power line in The platform arisen but it didn't pushed me, instead of it i just stuck there, i can't provide any screen since all i see now is a mess. Got no way back so i guess i have to start the game over (and i had all the researches and decent bases on all the planets +(

As it stands the gateways seem kind of worthless to myself and the group I play with. By the time you can unlock most of them you already have a high end large rover which allows you to move around the planet with ease and also collect lots of items while doing so. When I went to get the gateways all opened up. I had a large rover with 2 medium canisters, a paver, and a rank 3 drill attachment. I also had 8 RTG's on it as well. By the time I was finished unlocking them I had roads that looped the planet which made travel a lot faster with the rover as well which further supports that the rover is superior to the gateway system. The biggest thing that would make gateways better is if you could take things with you, like the rover for example. It should take any vehicles and anything attached to them that is inside the area of the gateway when activated. If that is something that the engine doesn't support well then giving the gateways other purposes would be nice as well. Have them grant a passive power level to the planet structures only. I.E. not vehicles... They could also provide a passive research tick of like 1 research per minute per gateway that is unlocked. That would give a passive 34 research per minute if you unlocked all of them. That could end up being a little over powered in late game especially if more planets are added. Other ideas could be that it generates scrap over time at a chosen gateway and does more scrap based on how many gateways you have unlocked. On average most people seem to have 1 base per planet and considering that you don't even have access to oxygen when you go through a gateway there just isn't much purpose to use them other than unlocking 1 in order to unlock the engine at the center. These are just a few ideas on how to do something to improve the use of the gateways. Even if these aren't used due to being too powerful then something needs to be done with them because currently they serve little to no real use, but they are a neat addition to the game that I wish had more of a purpose.

Windows 10, PC, Steam, Keyboard and mouse. I've activated 4 of the gateways on Glacio, and they did the usual animation and I can see the odd stone and travel to other nodes. However, on activating 4 nodes, 2 stay dim, even though I can interact with the odd stone and travel to activated nodes, but then cant travel back because it thinks that node is dim. Again, I can travel FROM the dim node, so the gateway is active. 3 other side notes: - On the broken gateways, I can still see the vertical blue line traveling up from the gateway as if it's INactive, but I can see the odd stone as f it was active. - When I reload the save, if I approach a broken gateway, as I approach it looks as it it is NOT active, and I can see the pillars and the power sockets, but when I get close enough, it changes to the active gateway with the odd stone. - One of the gateways that is broken, it looks as if there are 2 gateways stacked on top of each other? The architecture of the structure looks strange, unlike the others. Can I reload planets? I've almost got the achievement, I don't really want to start again if there is a risk of this happening again. Thanks

Is there any update or more information for the double gateway bug on Glacio? I'm using a save from before the creative update but I REALLY don't want to start again, I've spent a huge amount to time building my bases etc.. Has anyone confirmed that this doesn't happen with a new save? is there any way to edit a new save so I have my bytes and resources at least? I see many people asking about this, but no solutions or anything.. ver 1.7.55.0 PC Win10

I am on Calidor, and have powered up all 6 of the Gateways. I went to teleport to another Gateway but all other nodes were marked "DIM" not Bright. I even verified that the other Gateways were in-fact powered up. Quit out of the game, Verified the local files via Steam and the reloaded the save- nothing. No other nodes were BRIGHT. Is there a patch or a fix that I can apply?

hello all Been thinking on how current teleportation system works and I think there are ways to improve it. For me it feels priorities have to be different: first unlock the core - this will send activation signal to all surface nodes opening for them power sockets. Then, after supplying enough power surface node will activate a portal a la "Stargate" and a console which will allow to choose a destination from the list of already activated surface gateways. In order to select surface gateways on other planet we have to put that planetary stone from the core to the space station. This way we keep the activation chain, but avoid needless teleportation after "to the core/to the station/to the core/to the planet surface". Also the portal will allow not only walking through but also driving on a vehicle maybe? Also atm all the destinations are called "bright node" - this makes serious confusion I always manage to go to Desolo instead of Novus and other way around. Maybe give them some class/number IDs at least?

I am always annoyed by the fact that locations of teleportation are limited to the Gateways and have always wanted a late game teleporter. I then came up with this idea: Temporary Odd Stone Generator Description 1: Teleportation Device Description 2: resonates an Odd Stone by configuring Astronium molecules icosahedrically allowing it to create a space warping magnetic field Byte Cost: 500000-1000000 (We aren't just passing these out for free!) Crafting Method: Medium Printer Recipe: 1 Titanium Alloy, 1 Copper, 1 Astronium Input: 3 Astronium, 1 Power for 3 seconds https://www.tinkercad.com/things/2NAUoPxJ4gL-astroneer-temporary-odd-stone-generator-concept Please let me know what you think.

Summary: 1.0.4.0 - Steam - Gateway Chamber not unlocking after given more than enough power on Sylva Description: My friend and I have gotten to the point where we have the RTG. I made two of them, slapped them on the back of a large rover, and drove us to a Gateway Chamber. We plugged the rover into one of the triangle slots, the power bars were full, and the floor lowered, but nothing happened. It only made the powering up sound continuously, no odd stone was produced. Without these, we can't get inside the Gateway Engine, and cannot progress towards the end. Save file is attached, if needed. PC version. Terran planet. I powered up one of the gateways (the one merged with the mountain) while standing on the platform that raises up once powered (rocks above me were out of reach). When it raised i got stuck inside of it, and my rover was close enough that i still had oxygen, and i couldn't disconnect the power because the camera was completely zoomed in. I now have to wait for a friend to be able to log in and come disconnect the power, which may not be for a few days. An option to return to your base or rover/shuttle once every 24 hours or so would prevent similar problems in the future.

On Sylva, the Gateway nearest to my base wont open. I have fully charged it, and it doesnt play the opening animation. It used to, then nothing would happen. Now it just stays at full charge. The ones on Desolo work fine, i am unsure about other planets. Please let me know if there is a fix I can do, or if I will just have to wait. Astroneer Gateway Bug.mp4

Hello, I just been working on the Desolo gateways, powering up them in different ways. The first gateway I powered up using my base which was right next to it. I connected it up using extenders and ended up being fairly far away from it when connecting it and it finishing receiving power. When it received full power however the gateway didn't light up and the globe didn't appear. I can still connect power lines to it and the triangle will rise up, but it will not accept any more power going in to it. I also did the same on the other gateway on the other side of the planet and received the same problem. We also checked the core of the planet and it's locked off to us despite powering up both gateways. So kind of stuck here without being able to progress in the game despite having played on this save for 20+ hours, I don't really fancy starting again. This was done on a multiplayer save, however when I powered it up the first time on Desolo it was in solo play, there was no other client connected to the game at the time. Also while I'm here, please give the option to turn auto-save off when entering vehicles, as this can cause high frame rate issues and even potentially make the game crash multiple times while in multiplayer. Thanks

I will try not to spoil the ending here, but I have to mention... I am deeply disappointed in mysteries that end with mysteries and no answers While the ending unlocks the Skin and Colours, it does not unlock anything substantial for the player. Especially when you consider the long task of powering nodes, resourcing cores for all the planets. I gave that girl a diamond, I expect better I would therefore like to suggest items you unlock for completing such a monument task in game. Feel free to suggest your own... be it from silly to game changing. I just think it needs something more. Maybe they can be delivered as an alien pod landing at Sylva first base, or unlocks as a astronium crafting pattern in the tablet (alien hackers tada!), or the satellite has a dispenser/printer of its own. Passive: All Inactive Nodes will now power up fully and active if you stand near them A fabricator for Zebra Balls. An Alien working light that looks like a purple orb, but illuminates a larger area, doesn't require backpack power to stay on. An alien oxygenerator, that changes all the blue lines to glowing purple. A backpack carrying "Hearthstone" that when used teleports you from wherever you are to the satellite. A deployable teleport pad. Options of what they can do can vary On Use: Teleport to the Alien Satellite (this option can be deployed multiple locations if its One Way only) Return Teleport... Using any alien teleport will have an alien icon for your teleport (this would limit you to be only able to make one using the current UI by adding one icon) An Alien Engine for your shuttle. No longer requires fuel. (If I got access to free interplanetary teleportation, why not free space travel) Just felt like I needed a more substantial reward.
