  1. A very frequent problem we run into is trying to manage inventory and suddenly drilling into our base floor. Then we go to flatten it and suddenly our centrifuge platform sinks into the ground. Just as we finish building a replacement, we accidentally dig another hole in our base. Flatten again and ALL of our Large Storage and Medium storages on the ground sink away. I was ok dealing with it when it was just my tractor trailer sinking a little and I had to work the wheels free, but this is now far too frustrating and unplayable. I came to astroneer for its zen, this is not zen. My partner recommended that maybe we should be able to create undiggable ground plates, probably hexagons that loosely snap together when placed so you always have a flat surface to work on for your base that you can't accidentally dig into and have to fix.
  2. Summary: 1.1.0 - Steam - Freezing While Digging/Walking Version: 1.1.0 flight test. Description: I have been experiencing freezing while digging. Also, when walking to a distance of one tether from base on Sylva (new save) and placing the tether the game freezes a few steps past said tether. When I open the Task Manager (thankfully my entire computer doesn't freeze like before), it shows Astroneer as not responsive. System: Windows 7 Ultimate SP2 Intel i-5 Quad Core 2.3 GHz Nvidia Geforce 930M 2 GB 8 GB Ram 2 TB HDD I know this is a beta and is prone to bugs. However, what I don't understand is why the game does this now. For me at this point, the game is once again unplayable. I look forward to a response, Thanks
  3. Digging to center of planet (first one). Using wide mod and drill attachment lvl 1 with canister on third slot. Using xbox 360 wireless controller. Just before attaining the delve greedily and deep award (to give you an idea of depth). Astroneer stuck in a forward digging action and any attempt to alter coarse or stop made no difference. Hastily disconnected controller by removing batteries and grabbed mouse and keyboard and only opening backpack seemed to stop the astroneer however could not do anything at this point. Closing the backpack made the "sound" but the backpack was still in large open mode. Could not move astroneer in any direction other than turn his head with mouse. Astroneer died of suffocation. After respawning at base tried to exit game however i could not scroll down in the menu? As if a up keystroke was stuck. Controller battery-less at this point and not touching the keyboard. xbox360 wireless adaptor for windows windows 10 Cpu: i5 9600k gpu: gtx1060 6gb sc ram: 2x8gb 3200mhz crosshair vengeance storage: samsung 860evo ssd 250gb
  4. I'll dig, and instead of being smooth, and/or punctuated by a very short stop (I'm running an Intel IGU, on 8 GB RAM, I don't expect miracles, heh) - which is the behaviour from before, I get a slow staccato of digging. Dig stop dig stop dig stop dig stop, every 2 seconds or so - makes for very uneven terrain. It could be due to my low to medium low spec'ed machine I'm encountering CPU or memory bottleneck.
  5. What if there was a type of massive drill you could put on the front of a large rover that could dig tunnels that it could get through? The crane is hard to use and I think a drill module could make life easier for the average astroneer.
  6. I was playing on my laptop on steam, and I was underground and could not find the way out, and I was almost out of oxygen. then I was digging a tunnel op to the surface, but then I just was flying through the stone or what it is, and then I was on top of the surface.
  7. I am unhappy with the recent update, due to the fact that one can no longer elevate the terrain along the z axis.
  8. Hello Astroneers! I'm not sure if this kind of thing was posted here before but here it is: Please, close this topic if it has already been reported @Edit, - Windows 10 (fully updated) - Steam - Mouse / Keyboard / Xbox One Controller. Thanks!
  9. Hi there! Not sure if any/all of these have been covered elsewhere, but here we go anyway: Driving: For the most part, the rovers are great! However, having the direction the rover travels in connected to the direction I'm looking in almost makes it so I have to steer twice, in a sense. I'd like to see an option for disconnecting rover heading from where I'm looking. I want WASD to direct from the reference point of the rover itself, not where I'm looking. Storage: There's an option to print a Storage unit. This unit is tiny and mostly useless, considering I can simply dig a small hole next to my base and have it hold several times the amount of resources. I recommend creating something much spacier (perhaps a chest of some sort that visually shrinks your resource stacks; whatever the case, it definitely needs a lot more than 8 slots). Excavation Tool: Works very well for the most part, however: I'd like to see [left control] become more useful. Right now it doesn't seem to have a clear purpose. It's almost a smoothing tool, but it's far too crude. I'd like to see it made into a genuine terrain-restoring/slope mode, where terrain can be smoothed to a like-new or near like-new finish, or for creating a gentle slope without all the catches that make it difficult to climb. This would help tons around my base, where I've messed the terrain up a tad, making it weird for new setups to be placed. Evil underground gas plant monsters: I'm in a space suit, aren't I? How is it that outside gases are able to infiltrate? (Is that what those "Filters" are for? I haven't made one yet.) Not to mention that death came swift and without any chance to run away. I know to steer clear now, but I didn't at first. All that out of the way, I've very much enjoyed Astroneer thus far! It's a great game already and I know it can only go up from here.
  10. After digging up some of the harder (dark colored) dirt on the barren world with the truck drill I noticed that it won't back-fill the space it occupied or the area directly above it. This also happens with the worm things on the radiated world.
