    Salvage chic

    Hello, So i have all achivements except "Salvage chic" and ofc the one that requiers all others achivements. So i built the exo request platform made the composit, aluminum, and aluminum aloy parts. I did not unlock the achivement "Salvage chic". Now the plateform asks me for 50 astronium. I sent 50 astronium , it asks me 50 astronium again, so i sent them again, i'm stuck there sending astronium over and over again. i use the auto extractor to reach that amount of astronium but it's slow and it seems to be endless. Am I doing anything wrong or is there a bug there? Thanks for your answer
  2. Astronium is kind of useless in the current build of the game. It can be researched, sure, but it provides 1k over 25 minutes. Large Organic samples found on pretty much any planet that isn't Sylva or Desolo beat that. The only value it has is to occupy research pods on planets you don't frequent, which with the coming automation update potentially brings an opportunity to set up a research station and a silo to have dozens or hundreds of Astronium queued up to just constantly provide a trickle of bytes. I have a different idea. There's really only one economy that matters in Astroneer, and that's power. Your power economy dictates how much you can do at one time in your base, how long you can run without outside input, and how quickly you can activate the Gates. Most people see the RTG as the do-all-end-all of the power economy, once you start producing those everything else except maybe small batteries for personal use or large solar arrays because you probably built these before you had an RTG gets put on the shredder to make space for more RTGs. But what if there was an alternate option? RTGs offer unlimited power for free, which is great, but only output 4 power per second. They are a grind to build as a solo player, literally if you're purchasing the material resources using scrap. While I agree they are fine for vehicles, your base deserves something bigger and better. All of this discussion leads to my idea. A "Large Generator" fueled by Astronium. The Reactor. Following the math of the Small Generator at 1 power, and the Medium Generator at 3 power, the Large Generator or Reactor could generate 9 power per second (maybe more), consuming a unit of Astronium. This massive power output could be used to rapidly charge a rack of batteries, or possibly even a 'large battery' to compliment it's smaller cousins. Personally I envision a Reactor mounted on a Large T Platform with a Large Storage Silo behind it, with a couple of Medium Storage Silos outfitted for Astronium storage, and then the remaining 10 slots filled with Medium Batteries. Especially given the coming Automation Update, I feel that this would be a natural addition to the game as it could add diversity to the late-game power economy.
  3. Astronium is the resourse without any good usage. It is mined near the centre of the planet so it can be used for advanced technologies in lategame. ASTRONIUM USAGE: - Astronium is used to build Alien techologies, which open, then you activate the centre of different planets. - Alien technologies can be built on Alien printer. You can Make Alien printer on Gateway portal satellite, using packed Big printer and Astronium. - All things that are connected to Alien technologies are getting appropriate color. THE LIST OF TECHNOLOGIES AND PLANETS: SYLVA - PORTABLE GATEWAY PORTAL (Inventory Item that can teleport you to the closest activated Gateway portal', requires Astronium for 1 usage) DESOLO - PORTABLE RTG (Inventroy item made from Nanocarbon alloy and Astronium, provides 1 energy per second) CALIDOR - SMALL GATEWAY PORTAL (Requires a lot of Astronium, packed in an Odd stone. Place an Odd stone to the ground and activate it to build a Small gateway portal, now it shown on Gateway portal map and you can teleport between it) VESANIA - ALIEN SHUTTLE (Small shuttle with big storage that is packed into it, requires a 3 thrusters to fly. Alien shuttle can land on Gateway portal) NOVUS - ELECTROMAGNETIC THRUSTER/JET PACK (Thruster/jet pack that requires no fuel to fly, has a very expensive recipe, including RTG, Hydrazine thruster/jet pack and a lot of Astronium) GLACIO - ALIEN HOVERPLANE (small aircraft with small storage and little fly height, has a Terrain tool attached to it, requires power source, oxygenator and multiple use thrusters to operate) ATROX - PERSONAL SEQURITY OUTFIT (PSO) (Small robot costume with Terrain tool and claw, that can help with carrying massive things, Has a bunch of slots for Portable RTG and 2 active slots for illumination items or Jet pack, requires Portable oxygenator (and 2 Portable RTG to provide energy) for comfortable use. Requires all types of Geometric triptychs and astronium to craft) GATEWAY PORTAL SATELLITE (after activating all planets) - STAR SYSTEM CHAIN (Big portal that let you connect your Star system to the Star system of your friend if he had built Star system chain as well) P.S - This is not the list of things that should be immediately added to the game. This topic has a bunch of ideas that can be developed by community. Thank you!
  4. Hydrazine - It is given too much use, used in thrusters, making graphene, used in jetpacks. They should not be used in making graphene as it makes no sense, and is best used as a fuel, also since ammonium is a little hard to find and the soil centrifuge does not offer a fair trade with 2 canisters of soil. Zinc - It is found on almost every planet and in very large quantities but it is used in making the augmented tools and the medium battery that's all, I find sphalerite almost everywhere in the caves of Sylva and some other planets too. Diamond - It is only used in making level 3 drills for both rovers and terrain tool. Given its lustrous and non-breakable property it is not used a lot. Astronium - Literally has no use, ever since they reduced the byte rate ,it has become even more useless. What are your thoughts on these usability of these resources, do you have anything else on your mind? Comment down
  5. I am always annoyed by the fact that locations of teleportation are limited to the Gateways and have always wanted a late game teleporter. I then came up with this idea: Temporary Odd Stone Generator Description 1: Teleportation Device Description 2: resonates an Odd Stone by configuring Astronium molecules icosahedrically allowing it to create a space warping magnetic field Byte Cost: 500000-1000000 (We aren't just passing these out for free!)   6. A friend & I went down to the core to collect astronium for research. When we began researching it, everything was going fine. My friend, who was hosting, experienced a crash & we reloaded the game. Once we got back in the game, we found that the raw resources we collected, such as latterite & astronium, were unable to be researched. The research chambers simply didn't recognize them, as if nothing was there. So, we tried quitting & reloading the game, hoping it would resolve the the issue. Once we loaded in, the research chambers still didn't recognize them, but the also said that they would yield 0,000 Bytes for 0:00 minutes. Then we tried using fresh resources, & for some reason they worked fine, but the original resources still didn't work. Please let me know if you experienced this weird bug too.
  7. How do you get back from the core to the ground around the core. Everytime I try to mine astronium on the ground I get sucked toward the core and flipped upside down. Is there a way to get around this??

    Bugs After Update

    Version 1.0.6.0 xbox one after the update my player can no longer use the earth centrifuge (green button is missing although ausdeichend earth is present). i can, however, use the earth centrifuge. astronium can no longer be researched in the research chamber. only every third to fourth amonium works. Otherwise, the research chamber tells me that this object can not be met. Successes are always set back to 14% if you want to do it

  10. I just found astronium deep inside the barren moon. I know it's not used for anything. Is it a holdover from a previous edition of the game? Will it be used for something in the future? Should I just throw it away?

    Astronium Reactor

And it's always even better to leave something fresh here. Oh! and to leave a good suggestion format for any other user to use Astronium Reactor Reactor Module Recipe: not sure Crafted at: Upgraded Platform Tier: 3 (Large Module) Type: Power Generator This module are made using whatever material suit it, will use a medium sized Enriched Astronium (always seen astronium as a nuclear material considering how rare it is anywhere else, and how common it is on radioactive planet). It would of course following the 4x/8x rule will generate 4 times as much as the coal generator would (2 bars/8 units per seconds), and would last 640 ticks/second (10+ minutes), means it will generate a total of 1280 bars of power. fun fact: The fuel condenser consumes 16 bars of power for every cycle and it takes about 4 cycle to fill one canister of hydrazine, from the power generated by the reactor, exactly 20 canister of hydrazine can be manufactured in one reactor cycle Enriched Astronium Recipe: 2 Astronium Crafted at: Medium Printer Tier: 2 (Medium Module) Type: Special / Fuel Resource This one would be used by the Reactor Module as it's consumables to generate power. The 4 green bars on it's side will indicate how much of the Astronium has been spent, each one of it's green bar will grey out for every 25% of itself used. Like any other nuclear material leave a weak green glow that is visible at night. There is however a surprise left once you spent the Enriched Astronium Nuclear Waste ???: ??? Here's the catch, while the powerful Reactor can be utilized however you want, instead of leaving away the astronium in a puff of smoke, the tube used to hold the Enriched Astronium will instead be left as it is. You would however, need to find a way to dispose of it, either by blasting it away into the space, or throw it into a hole and bury it. Of course there will be an unintended result of an irreversible damage to the soil within 50 to 80 years from now. Good thing you have a protective suit, or otherwise you'll get cancer from the radioactive exposure. Can't have a powerful nuclear reactor without having a valuable lesson about the environment
  12. I was mining astronium today and I thought of a use for it. Basically, for two resin you can add a platform to your base. This platform is researchable and will be named "Nuclear Reactor" or something like that. It will look similar to the fuel condenser, but it will have two small cooling towers and a place to input your astronium. Once you input your astronium, the reactor will output power for 5 - 10 minutes. If your batteries are full and all items in the base are charged the reactor will stop so that way you don't waste your rare astronium. When the reactor is activated the cooling towers will emit a smoke partical effect. This platform could inlude many other details such as a generator looking object in the middle with a slot for your astronium. There will be wires and other details such as levers on this small box, and to the sides there will be the two cooling towers, see the picture for details. (I know I'm not the best artist but you might be able ot get a good idea of what I'm talking about. A fun thing to add could be a meltdown or overheat/overload. During one of those there will be an alarm sound effect and red flashing lights. This will occur rarely, and if you don't shut down the reactor after about 15 seconds it will shut down and empty all the power from your base. Nuclear power can lead to consequences, ya know.
  13. Just an idea. I think it would be a cool add-on for the game that hematite would be used to create a new module that when placed, similar like a habitat, it would attach to the surface. This hematite module would require x amount of astronium to run and when running, it converts a certain radius around the module to convert itself into earth like land(basically reterraforming the planet to be more like earth). This is just a thought that came to me, seeing that hematite and astronium are basically end game resources. Makes sense to end the game with terraforming Terran (an earth like planet) into a planet that would be able to sustain earth like qualities. This would add a new aspect and beauty to the game, but I could also see this putting stress on the game save. Still an idea that should be looked at. Tell me what you guys think.

    New Vehicles

    WALKER- Would basically be a spider drone with 8 legs to have better mobility on the land of bumpy planets. It would also have the same amount of slots to put things on as a regular rover, (Possibly truck??? not sure depending on the size of the drone). Would cost some of the higher end resources, as when you finally start thoroughly exploring the other planets, you will probably have resources like titanium (4) and maybe even some astronium (2) available for use. Would need to be researched from pods from crash sites. Same power as a truck. FLYING DRONE(S)- It would be like the drones we have in our own world today. Small semi-portable drones that have cameras to be able to see what the drone sees. Could be used to survey land or even just get a cool looking picture or view. Only 2-4 compound because of its limited use. Powered only by solar, no sun no energy. (Can't store own energy)! Another type of drone/helicopter could be one the player could ride on. It would take energy and store 1 1/2 times of what a truck does. Would hold the same amount of space a truck can. Can be obtained through 2 astronium as this could be a very powerful addition to the game. SHUTTLE 2.0- A larger shuttle with double everything of a regular shuttle. Double the cost, double the storage of hydrazine, double the storage. CYCLE- A small vehicle that could be obtained very early on in the game. Only would cost 1 compound have 2 storage slots and have the energy of a rover. What do you think??
  16. If there are large pockets of nothing but astronium it needs to have some use or worth on the trade station. Right now, I have tons of astronium just sitting around, taking up space.

    Astronium Resource!!!

    Hey everyone, a buddy and I were curious on what would happen if we dug all the way down the earth. After about 45 minutes of digging and tethering, we came across a resource that was in a rock but we were still able to scrape the surface to get some of the resource. It ended up being "Astronium" so we googled it and saw that there is no use for this resource yet in the game! Crazy how we found it. I kinda wanna know what this is used for..

    Exotic Materials

    Has anyone found out what the exotic materials are for, I just drilled a really deep distance down and found this, it was mostly attached to a rock that i cant do anything with. I was able to get 2 stacks tho.
