Summary: 0.6.2.0 - Steam - Character will get stuck on ground when walking Description: While walking normally on a radiated planet the character begins to stutter and some times even stop all together. When attempting to flatten the terrain, the tool won't move smoothly. It's possible to eventually get the desired result, but it is difficult.   3. I kinda' get annoyed at the giant holes in the ground from when I dig resources, we need a tool to make the ground look like it did before, instead of the flattening tool.
  4. I was attempting to change seats in my rover, from the mining crane to the driver's seat. When I exited the Crane I ended up under the vehicle; I didn't think much of it as I have had this happen without problem before. Unfortunately, when I got into the driver's seat from under the rover it and its trailer decided to freak out and are now floating at, I presume, the center of the planet with me. The rover seat being a save point I think the problem is apparent. Yall might need to attach the exit point of the crane seat to one side or the other of the rover base rather than the crane itself as the current setup is really touchy. I noticed when I got out of the vehicle that my astronaut fell up until he came out in a cave; If yall can mirror this for vehicles it might help a bit.

    Alignment Tool Idea

    As someone who does CAD for a living, the alignment tool (and flatten terrain function) is one of my favorite things to get in the interest of making a base I can be proud of. That said, there are a couple of adjustments that really should be made that could transfer it from being a helpful tool to being the quintessential base-taming device. 1. Allow the tool to work on ceilings -I'm getting really tired of constantly adjusting a base ceiling angle so that any lights I put up there can actually light the place up. 2. Either allow us to set a desired angle for a slope, or create a separate "Angle tool that allows us to set the angle/pitch of the ramps we create. -There is far too much guess work involved in trying to get the correct angle for a ramp. pitch and bearing would be the best thing to happen to Astroneer highways since the terrain tool itself! 3. Please please please find a way for the flatten terrain function to actually create a flat plane rather than a vague approximation of the angle you select. -Currently the entrance to my base looks nearly like a stairway due to that effect.

    Deform Tool

    On some levels / surfaces, the terrain tool would glitch, and wouldn't deform smoothly over the point I was aiming it at. It would be rather choppy, and jump from one position to the next when mining a flat surface. Ill see if I can make a small video the next time it happens and post the youtube video link for it on the comments. Also, When using multiple terrain tool mods, like having an inhibitor mod on the top of the tool, a boost mod on the side, and a wide mod below that one, the wide mod would deactivate when de-attaching one of the other two. Moving one mod affects the others. I would ask for any mod to work no matter the arrangement. Also, this isnt a glitch, but more of a suggestion. When I press tab, I usually have to click on the terrain to close the backpack, because pressing q a second time always opens the research menu. I think it would greatly improve the experience If the research menu has a different button to open from. When clicking the terrain, I would often alter the terrain because I did not put away the terrain tool yet.

    Organics

    When digging up organics for the generators, I always end up with a bunch of holes all over the terrain. It would be nice if we could just pull plants off the surface.

    so when i go over even a tiny rock the wheels come of and i cant move until i get out of the car and back in again
  9. Summary: 0.5.0.0 - Steam - Other End of Rover has been Eaten by the Terrain Description: I just parked the rover for awhile coz I'm scavenging the wreckage nearby. And later on the terrain just eat the other end of the rover, when i tried to flip it (Press TAB) the Rover Train just went up high and then disappear and I can't find it nowhere, and I died due to the suffocation because the Rover is gone.     Terrain Painter?

    It would be good if there's a terrain triangle polygon painter so we can specify our bunkers buildings and even our planets!
  11. I would really like to see road building as a thing. Maybe have a researched attachment in front of the vehicle, that flattens terrain. Being able to create a network of smooth roads would open up exploration hugely, as well being a lot of fun in itself.

  14. Summary: Items falling into the Ground which i collectet on the Moon, when Backback was full. While walking i was suddenly teleportet in the air an falling down. Description: I collectet some stuff with the terraforming Gun, i think it was compound or resin, and there was some energy on the ground. As my backback was full, the energy falling not on the ground, it falls into the ground and was gone. Same happens e few minutes later with energy. After that i walks back to my base, a little distance to this i was suddenly teleportet to the Air and falling down. It was not very high, so i dont dying. After that the Items which was falling into the ground ara lying now on the ground. Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: ?   15. Bugs that can be seen in the video below: If you click on a chair and hit tab at the same time you can fly. If you click on a chair and hit tab while standing next to a chair on a vehicle then you are able to carry it as you drive You cannot attach any items what so ever to the front or back of a small rover except for power blocks. Research spawning must be changed. I have searched for hours in a cave and found 5-6 measly old research and traveled about 1000 meters in all directions and have found only 2 outside of said cave so it is very, very, very, very, very tedious to grow because I'm spending hours and hours a day to just find research so I can unlock some damn storage for example. You cannot click on "holograms" to place materials when they are in your gun or your utility bar. you cannot attach your car to the base structures at all, and the vehicle bay only when the hologram of the other vehicle is gone batteries on a vehicle don't fill from other batteries or power blocks power blocks do not power other batteries or buildings they are not attached to base structures lowering and raising terrain that was flattened out prior to placing them down. the name of the mineral will stay floating in the air even after all the resources have been collected land mass floating in the air that I did not create not leave when carving out a space. Sometimes when taking out your vacuum cleaner (hitting "e") your camera like offsets or jumps Y=The car shakes when it is being charged up by the base. VIDEO: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B39pGRpR42gKNF9tdERUQkhLQ0k Bugs that went un-recorded: Tethers randomly falling over and disconnecting( never saw them fall only saw them fallen) Tethers which did not have a blue line between them but still supplied oxygen(no power was transferred between them though) One of my power blocks which I put on my car ran down to one little particle of power left then never dissolved no matter what I did When the car dies of power it doesn't coast or drift like you'd expect it just basically stops as if you are hitting the brakes To change directions you have to stop pushing what ever direction you were pushing and wait for the car to stop moving COMPLETELY before you can change otherwise it tries turning around in really bizarre ways

    "Adding" terrain

    Hi, before these terrain tool mod things I could "add terrain" by pressing alt. Now when I try to do it the same old way it shows me "X" / can't do it. Any terrain tool mod isin't helping.

Flat ground making stair steps Character would turn around when digging a tunnel.(the tunnel did continued straight though) sometimes ,no matter how hard you try, there is no way to stop sliding.
  18. I wonder, is there anything, an idea, something being talked about whatever, about adding physics to terrain? What I mean by that is when you for example deform the terrain and there's a bit of terrain seperated from the main part, it will fall down?

    A bug or two...

    v.215 Windows PC (Win10 PRO), Windows Store, Keyboard and Mouse Please address the issue of the resources pooping off the terrain tool and falling into the planet forever! What is with the wind turbine? you are in a blizzard and they don't turn, period... one would think in that kind of wind they would spin. It's not just the storms tho, you can be in a area and the environment shows wind blowing but the turbines just sit there. These are the two biggest bugs / pet peeves I have with the game ATM.

    Mod Hot Key

    First, this comes from a console perspective but I see no reason a keyboard hot-key couldn't be handled the same way. What I would like is to be able to easily switch mods in and out of the top slot on the terrain tool. My suggestion is do a mod wheel like ESO does their quick slot. For example, if the hot key would be D-Pad UP, then holding it down brings up a wheel of mods you have available. And you select one using the stick. Now when you tap D-Pad UP it would mount that mod on the top of the terrain tool. If anything was there, it goes whereever that other mod came from. And it now becomes the D-Pad UP mod. Tapping D-Pad UP again would then put the old mod back, and return whats there to inventory and again redefine the D-Pad UP. This means D-Pad Up now becomes a quick swap. Its use I see mainly with terrain analyzer and inhibitor. PITA to swap these in and out having to drag crap around in the backpack. A quick, defineable button press really would streamline the process significantly.
  21. After playing longer sessions of Astroneer, found that my Hand get's quite some strain from pressing and holding the left mouse button to use the terrain deforming tool. Up to a point where I have to stop playing and even using the mouse for click-intensive tasks for a while. So I would like to see a TOGGLE option for that (which should also work for the drill head). Just some quality of life improvement, but I think an important one. Getting a pain in the hand should not be the top reason to stop playing. And just in case someone thinks I'm a special case: I use a mouse 8 hours a day at work and a couple of hours for gaming at home with no problems. So it's not like I have a general susceptibiity. It's just the repeated prolonged holding of the mouse button which causes this.

    Dust Collectors!

    Since the addition of T.A.R. and the nerfing of Fuel Condensers, I thought about something similar to a Fuel Condenser... Introducing Dust Collectors! Dust Collectors look kind of like your average Fuel Condenser (except that they might have some sort of funnel or tower or something on top), but instead of condensing Hydrazine from the air, they collect dust particles floating around! They are about 1.5 to 2.0 times more effective than Fuel Condensers, and they are twice as effective as normal while a Sandstorm is active near them! (Just like wind generators) Since there won't immediately be a way to semi-automate Sediment collection (other than Trade Platform, and who likes a generic rocket better than a cool semi-new mechanic?), the Dust Collector will provide a way to gather lots of Sediment for those builders who have tons of power and want to get more Sediment without destroying an entire mountain. More accurate description of the module: Just like almost all other modules, the Dust Collector requires a Tier 2 Base Platform and to be researched. The Dust Collector would probably look like a slimmer, smaller fuel condenser, but on top it would have something like a tower that might look like one of those towers with a ton of satellite dishes (or radar dishes or whatever they are) on them.
  23. I'm copying this from my comment on the SES vlog video in which the idea of terrain becoming a resource (sediment) was expressed. Gathering default (grey) sediment by default and using a terrain analyzer to get the specific (colorful) terrain makes the most sense to me. That way the player doesn't get over-filled with the multiple types of terrain unless the player specifically looks for them. It also means that the player is restricted in what type of sediment the player can get based on whether or not the terrain analyzer has been obtained. Then each sediment can be used for specific things; perhaps when using the sediment filter, different colors produce more or less amounts of each resource? i.e. purple sediment will produce more resin, white more compound, or something of that sort Other forum-goers; if you've not watched the vlog, please do. Then, please give suggestions as to how the different sediment colors can be used, whether in the sediment filter base construction, or however you can imagine. Thanks! (edit: added the video)

    Terrain popup more apparent?

    I've noticed more in this build (196/7) that terrain popup seems to be more apparent, and annoying, than in previous builds. It's almost as if you need to be on the edge of the next section before you get a decent idea of what is around. Just me?
