    Invisible shuttle after joining

    Hello, A Huge problem of the multiplayer is, after joining the first time the shuttle is invisible for the joined friend. This means he is not able to build modules or interact with the Base. Also the Oxigen pipe is invisible but the player is connected to the oxigen and is filling up his canister. An other problem is the shuttle of the joining player, which is not flying away after joining the first time. Greets Daniel
  2. Every time I am the host, my friends keep crashing when playing in my game. We tried the other way around and it's the same, I constantly crash after 10-20 min when I am joining my friends game. PC/Steam.
  3. The game is going to be fun, some day. At the moment after 2 hours you have build and researched everything and the only thing you can do is lift off to another planet and start over. No other gameplay available yet. I know it is Alpha, but a Closed Alpha for a while with real gamers would have been better to get rid of these issue a lot of users are having, and I do not mean the “Friend and Family BETA”. Multiplayer should be removed as it stands now. The Multiplayer code it is using is awful. I have a beefy setup: I7 5960X, GTX 1080, 64 GB DDR4 , 3x RAID 0 SSD, 500 Mbit Internet connection. So, let’s rule specs out of the equation here. If I start a new game I have 100 FPS (edited the config file so I can get 100 FPS, default is capped at 62) So terrain stuff is pretty optimized so far. If I build all things I can build I have 34 FPS on any resolution, GPU Usage is then 35%, CPU usage is 100% on 1 core. So definitely an optimization issue. And my guess is Physics. I think it is calculation Physics on all objects. Than to come back to Multiplayer, the host is I think responsible for all calculations even for the other clients. This unheard of, even if you would have a dedicated server setup, this cannot hold. 21:9 support is there, but for example the main menu is cut off in the bottom as it tries to maintain 16:9 ratio. Audio settings are not working. So, my advice: Revert to single player…, for now, this game should have multiplayer some day. Optimize you game code, and especially optimize your models (LOD and stuff) Optimize Physics, especially what object are using Physics. Recreate your Multiplayer code, I guess you are using the UE4 default multiplayer implementation, write your own. For Multiplayer leave Physics calculations on the Client side, and maybe a few on the Dedicated Server side. Try to add DX12 support so your CPU core optimization is better, you need this, as at the moment 1 core is flooded all the time. Try to implement more Graphics options, for example the physics calculation so you can reduce them. Keep on doing great work, as this game has great potential. And I understand you only have a small team working on this title. Thanks

A common crash in multiplayer: - When entering a friend's game especially when your pod comes in contact with the clouds Menu bug: - After clicking "join game" on your friend list (steam) or when accepting a "game invite" from your friend, the mouse cursor becomes a white dot and I am not able to click "launch" to launch my pod The game has been an amazing experience so far and it would be much appreciated if the devs could address these issues as soon as possible.

A friend was driving a Rover back to our base and suddenly his game crashed, the rover was driving by his own until it stopped, i wanted to get it back but after getting close to it (10 meters) my game crashed. After that, i started again the game on the same map and i noticed that my friend's pod was there (it's supposed to fly away after he came the first time to my map), i told my friend to join but he couldn't, his game crashed again. He tried to join again but his menu screen froze and couldn't click anything.
  6. I've put about 10 hours in this game and I've encountered a few big bugs, so I'll just post all of them here and try to write out as much detail as I can. Standard Xbox One without kinect Standard wireless Xbox One controller Low framerate The framerate is perfectly fine when starting a new world, but it starts to gradually decrease(it doesn't completely tank to a low framerate altogether, except in one case that I will explain below) as I progress through the game. I think it is caused by 2 things. 1) Tethers: On my first world, I used a fair number of tethers so I could have oxygen in a wide area. I believe I used about 30ish tethers in my game. The structures I had were a Smelter, a Research Station, an empty structure base that didn't have anything built on it yet, and a node(by node I mean the extension that you can turn into a building pad: However, in this world I didn't really see a serious drop in fps, just a small frame freeze when exploring a cave and slightly lower fps, but nothing major. My second playthrough was with one friend, and I was the host of this session. We used plenty of tethers again, except this time a lot more, though I couldn't give a specific number. As we were placing them, the framerate gradually started decreasing again, this time down to around 10 and sometimes lower to around what felt like 5 fps(since I'm on Xbox, I can't give an exact framerate since we have no fps counter, I can only give estimates of what it feels like). In this world we had 2 habitats including the initial one, a printer, a research station, a vehicle bay, and a smelter. Leaving and reloading the world would be a somewhat temporary fix(but even loading back up, the fps was lackluster, around 20 to 25 fps), however the framerate would eventually turn back to its nearly unplayable state. All of this(and everything in the first world) was done in multiplayer and it was done during livestreaming via the Xbox One Twitch app, but I did reload this world again in singleplayer without livestreaming before writing this post to see if the fps was still bad, and the same thing happened. It would be semi-alright at around 20-25, but would slowly decrease. However, when I picked up a tether to move it, the game would freeze for a few seconds. When the game started moving again, it was playing at a very low 5-10 fps again. Note that the framerate IMMEDIATELY tanked as soon as I picked up the tether. ( | This is the link to the livestream, so everything is recorded from this section. I am playing in my first world up until the 43:13 timestamp. I start playing my second world in 2-player multiplayer at the 44:31 timestamp) 2) Higher Number of Structures: After dealing with the framerate in the previous 2 worlds, I created a new world, and this time I didn't use any tethers at all. I didn't have any fps issues for a while, but they eventually resurfaced as I started putting down more structures and started adding more nodes. At the moment, the framerate is even getting as low as my second world. I don't have video recording of a playthrough from start to present, but I can give a list of the structures and vehicles in my world in addition to a recording of my current base(which also captures the low framerate). My base contains 4 fuel condensers, a smelter, a printer, 2 vehicle bays, a trade platform, a research station, 9 batteries, 8 wind turbines, 8 solar panels, 1 rover, 2 trucks(1 with a crane and drill, the drill doesn't work by the way), and 1 spaceship. I don't believe the vehicles are the cause for me though, since I did go on a building spree without building vehicles, and as I was building more nodes I noticed the framerate getting lower and lower. This is the Xbox DVR recording of my base( Lynx II/video/24698655). I also recorded my screen with my phone which records at 60fps( Crashing I have had some problems with crashing. I've only crashed once while in game( | I crash at the end of this video), however I ALWAYS crash when trying to join my friend( | I crash again at the end of the livestream). I have only successfully managed to join my friend's host ONCE, and this was when I had just installed the game and . Afterwards, every time I accept an invite, I crash. I've tried accepting invites in multiple ways such as from the astronaut selection screen, while in a world, while the game is loading, and even while I'm mid-flight starting a new world. All end up with me crashing. Falling through world Sometimes I will fall through the world, most of the time it is when using the tool, but I have had an occurrence where I fell through the world 5 times in less than 2 minutes. This happened in my world where I didn't use any tethers(see above). It happened twice while I was trying to put items on the trade platform, twice while I was just walking around the base, and once when I respawned at my habitat from dying by falling through the world. So basically it seemed like the floor just randomly started losing all tangibility. I quit and reloaded the world after saving and everything seemed fine after that. Tether placement in multiplayer There's another issue with tethers we found, but this time it isn't framerate-related. When playing in multiplayer, the host is able to place and connect tethers without any problems. However, when another player who isn't the host tries to connect tethers, the tethers won't link to anything. Only the host can manipulate tethers it seems. ________________________________________________________________ These are the bugs I've had problems with. I hope this helps since it took me about an hour to write lol. I had to write all of this while getting my videos and my facts straight, and making this as clear as I could.
  7. PC/Keyboard/Mouse/GTX1080 No FPS Issues. When my friends game crashes while trying to join my game his drop pod doesn't go away and cannot be interacted with. When he managed to get out and then crashed his mining tool wouldn't disappear. He is having the AMD FPS issues.
  8. I've already submitted a bug report but I'll put it here in the forum in case others have had the same issues. I got the game on steam and I had the issue where everything is fine until a few minutes in it'll freeze on one frame and never change. I have to go to task manager to actually exit. Then I got the game through Microsoft's Windows Store. I didn't have any freezing issues but instead I now can't do multiplayer. I tried to connect with a friend and whether I joined his game or he joined mine it wouldn't work. When I click join game it restarts my game and 3/4 times it'll crash. When I finally get it to work I'm not connected to my friend. He's had the exact same issues with his computer with the Steam version freezing and the Windows version not working with multiplayer.   9. I was watching two streams side-by-side of players in the same server. The one on the left was playing in the world of the one on the right. They were both arguing over if this plant was white or pink, but I noticed from comparing the streams that they were actually seeing different things. See the attached image for proof.

    Some Bugs I found so far

    So, first off, great Game! secondly, i bought this game for coop, and this is when the bugs i found occur. When youre the host, then your cursor disappears the moment your client joins the game, which makes the inventory management harder. Then, after a few structures have been built (like about half an hour play time), the hosts fps are dropping like crazy, going so far that you don´t have any moving pictures for a few seconds. then, lastly, a little bug that only happens as a client, you can´t correctly place any tethers, meaning you can put them down, but they won´t get a connection to other tethers or your home base. If you can fix these bugs, than it´s an awesome game, great work devs!

    Using the new Xbox LFG system other players and I have tried to play together which was unsuccessful, any fixes?

  13. Upon crashing/disconnecting as a non-host, you leave behind the items in the backpack (understandable), but you also leave behind your terrain tool which is unremoveable. After multiple crashes/disconnections, the map quickly becomes littered with them.
  14. Astroneer crashes completely when joining a friend's multiplayer game over Steam. We have been playing on the world for a few hours, so at this point there is quite a lot of clutter around the spawn point. This happened previously, so we made a new world to fix it, but unfortunately the same bug has started to occur. It happens every time I try to join so it preventing me from joining. Thanks.
  15. Happens on Xbox, only affects host of game. Work around is using LT to bring up cursor and select backpack with RT, then you can browse/place/take items from your backpack.
