    Galaxy engines gravity issue

Hey guys, firstly. Great job on the game. I have had astroneers since it basically came out in early early access on Xbox one and it has been absolutely amazing watching the game grow! You guys have invented a purely beautiful work of art and I have enjoyed countless hours of really entertaining and thoughtful fun. Couple of of things that have really really pissed me off. Tethers causing an immense amount of lag as the game has to account for every single tether in the gAme. While the re-breather is as good solution to this, 8000 bytes and nanocarbon alloy mean that it is only accessible to late game development. This means that to then mitigate the lag one has to then remove by hand all tethers which no one is going to do. The lagging is not too bad on single player and is manageable (still fucking annoying) but when we go to play online with each other, the HOST will lag so badly that the actual speed at which the host moves is reduced to about a quarter of that of the other members in the server . To the point the game is unplayable. The second point that that I am struggling with right now is this: i used the large rover with a drill bit 3 on t to dig to the core of the planet I am on. Super enjoyable digging down to the core, however, once I got to the galaxy engine the rover was affected by the central gravity of galaxy engine. I was was able to use the pink energy pathways in order to navigate to the very edge of the gravity affected area but when I arrived to the edge of the path, a giant pyramid shaped part of the gateway is the last part of the gravity area. I drove at speed Ed trying to clear the gravity and instead got hooked onto the very top of the pyramid! Now the rover over I have spent a good day building is completely stuck and there is nothing I can do to move it! I now have to abandon my rover, RTG and all accompanying items, let myself die and start again! Super frustrating. Please make ale it easier to escape the core with heavy machinery. As I understand the need to unlock all the galaxy gates, however digging straight to t is just so fucking satisfying! Please I beg you! Make it easier! I absolutely adore fore this game and I intend on playing it for years to come. If you fix these lag issues particularly with the tethers the game will run so much smoother. Maybe adding an an option or a function to remove all tethers once the oxygenated has been unlocked? That could be a quick fix. Thanks for for your hard work and your diligence in respecting your fan base and trying your best to make the game as enjoyable as possible! You ou guys are legends! Keeps it up!

    Large rover capabilities

How does a tractor pull a large rover? Also, the tractor can pull up to 3 trailers but how can't connect 4 large rovers? The large rover should pull 3 other large rovers right(it only pulls 2)?AND it can connect to up to four. The tractor can only pull what it can connect to so why is the large rover different? Furthermore, why does the output of any machine go into the t3 sockets first, then the t2 and last(where it should actually go) the t1? That shouldn't be a thing. On top of that, If you have let's say a scrapper on the front of a train of 4 CONNECTED large rovers, scrap should flow to the fourth one right? well no. Lastly, if you have lets say a smelter on one of the 2 large rovers you can currently pull, and you put a piece of malachite on the rover which doesn't have the smelter, the smelter won't take it! Why?
  3. I have a large rover, four rtg's, AND a medium battery. I have a level 3 drill head and while drilling, the rover will not move forward, reverse, left, or right. When I turn the drill off, maneuvering capability is restored. I thought...ok...draws extreme power. So, I put the level 2 drill head on. Same thing. However, the tractor can use the drill heads with less power and no issues.
  4. Just unlocked the Large Rover in version 1.0.4.0, I've built enough for 3 Large Rovers (not enough resources to create a 4th yet; the max consist, unless it's changed), the 3 Large Rovers move just great, but the moment I add any sort of payload, Small Solar/Wind Turbine, Oxygenator, Small Storage, large storage, etc, the Large Rover consist of 3 does not move. If I reduce the consist to 2 Large Rovers, with a payload, it will move as expected. Either this is a bug or the consistent max has been changed, but I'm thinking if it had, then I wouldn't be able to connect or move 3 Large Rovers without any payload.

    Large rover bug

Summary: 1.0.4 - Steam - Large Rover doesn't move(video included) Description: Hi, i created 3 large rovers and attached them to the first one which has a medium rover seat. It doesn't matter what is them. If you attach 3 large rovers, then look away and then try to drive them, they won't move unless you deattach the rover with the seat, drive it a bit, reattach it and in the worst case scenario dig under every rove. I am pretty sure it is intended to have up to 3 large rovers attached to each other because if you do what i said, they move normally and the tractor can be attached to 3 trailers. i think this is because the game thinks they are debree, not sure though. Platform: Steam / Xbox One / Windows 10 Store Version / Build Number: 1.0.4 Specifications: OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 | v. 1607 | Build 17134 CPU: Intel i7 7700k 4GHZ GPU: GTX 1070ti 6GB RAM: Corsair 4x8GB DDR4 3600GHZ Drive: Samsung 500GB bug.mov
  6. Summary: 1.0.4 - Steam - Rover stops responding when drill is turned on Description: Any rover in my game stops responding to input while a drill is turned on in any front/rear slot. Input resumes working when the drill is toggled off. Video of bug: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/260188315913945105/544151203441934336/New_video_Small_2.mp4 In the video I am always holding forward, and half way in I start holding forward and steering, but when the drill is turned on, only the rover's momentum keeps it moving. It will eventually come to a stop and even slide backward if on a hill. There is a workaround that can still make it usable by accelerating, then toggling the drill on and off periodically, so that the rover's momentum will carry it forward while drilling. Its less effective up-hill, of course, so it still isn't ideal. Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: 1.0.4 (present since 1.0) Specifications: OS: Windows 10 Home | v. 1803 | Build 17134.523 CPU: Intel Core i7-2700K CPU 3.50GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 RAM: Patriot 3x4GB DDR3 1066Hz (12GB) Drive: KINGSTON SA400S37240G (SSD)
  7. I saw many people already reporting it, but i'm making a topic to address all the issues with the land rovers so far. Rover won't work: On entering the rover and attempting to move, the vehicle won't work what so ever, regardless of energy. Bellow are some possible reason/fix but none of them are 100% consistent. Some times, removing batteries or external power sources or any items on the driving rover work. Some times detaching the driver rover, entering the driving rover and making sure it works, getting out and re attaching works. Some times alt-tabbing works. Some times flipping the rover works. Saving/Loading seems to don't work A small bump completely destroys momentum: Mostly a medium rover issue, it seems it want's a absolutely plain field to travel, even a small irregular shape will stop it from 100 to 0 in a frame or flip side-ways. Also the medium rover seems to not have traction/adherence at all, a simple curve sends connected modules to drift left and right. Wheels stuck on other modules wheels. While the rover is drifting I noticed the wheels stuck on inverted positions. Module 2 has the 4 wheels turned left and module 3 has them turned right and both seem to be stuck on each other. And they stay stuck even after the drift stops, making impossible to drive in a straight line. So far this are the issues I found so far, 1.0 is being amazing so far, just a little weird around the edges as is expected on a launch.

  9. Summary: Small fabricator prints into seat when used on large rover. 10. I saw that there was an issue where the Large shuttle capsule face inward instead of outward. I have discovered that the large Rover has the same issue. See attached photos. This issue will affect headlights while driving at night.
  11. Xbox One Alpha 8.0, unable to build crane on large rover due to height. Difficult to adjust terrain to compensate. When large rover is level with vehicle bay, the build option is unavailable due to interference.
  12. Hi, so I am playing ASTRONEER and I've recently made the Large Rover. So, I hooked it with some research materials, a seat and a solar panel while playing on the Steam (Keyboard) version of the game. I was just driving around the place and next thing I know, my large rover gets stuck in a hill while climbing it. Figured I got stuck on a rock, I continued to try to drive. Then rotating my camera, I noticed my rover was sinking into the world. Then finally my rover instantly gets swallowed by the world. I'm playing on the Alpha 0.7.0.0. Version so, yeah. Have some pics. Hope I filled it out properly.
  13. Summary / Description: Driving along with my mobile mineral extractor / crane setup on two large rovers, and rover just fell into/through the ground. Hovered there in graphical nothingness after slight fall through immediate terrain (see images) for a while. Obviously it was stuck, when I got out I fell to the bottom of the cave and died. Took a small rover to the cave system underneath and the terrain had regenerated around the rover. I cut the rover out, allowing it to fall into the cave system. Had to engineer a big ramp to drive it back out. took a long time! When originally falling into the ground, it was over terrain not previously traversed, altered, or otherwise modified. See images for more information / different camera angles from when the rover fell through, prior to exiting the vehicle. Platform: Windows 10 Steam version: 7.0 Version / Build Number: 7.0 version. New save, no previous saves were even opened, all were deleted during 6.8 in preparation for the updates as I am aware of the policy here. 14. Greetings! After hearing about the new 0.6.5 patch, I created a new world to give the new things a try. I crafted a large rover with a one-seater. However when I exit, it sends the rover flying into the air. After testing it a few more times, I realized it was my character that was in the way (it exited in front of the rover, not the side), causing tension between the character and the rover-- which made the rover launch into the air. This happened often around fully flat ground, but not too much on uneven terrain. I gotta say, it was quite entertaining to watch the rover fly across the base and do beautiful backflips. It did eventually get frustrating when I wanted to park the rover in a certain place. - Kzane
  15. The new rover system is nice and I do like it (The batteries are still woefully inadequate but oh well) but whenever you exit a 1-seat on a Large Rover, it flips out and goes all over the place before crashing nearby. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, the issue seems to be that when the Player exists the seat, it clips inside the Rovers' model.
  16. First and foremost - Great update! Love the added freedom of creativity to place things through power tethers! I like the direction its heading! Large Rovers / Large Storage [Steam: Post Basebuilding Update] The large rover has 4 (x2) slots [including the front and back connectors], and a large storage uses up 2 of the (x2) slots [giving you a total of 8 slots free: 4 from the large storage, 1 seat, 1 remaining (x2) on the rover, and the front and back]. Prior to the update, you could power your rover by placing a power source [solar panel/wind turbine/large battery] either on your large storage, or by placing them on the front/back connection points. Now they wont work. My assumption is that when the large storage is built upon a rover, it is not "connecting" to the power source via this new method and not in circuit with the rovers battery. I've also found issues with the large batteries power not being used by the rover, even when directly connected on top of one of its dedicated (x2) slots. Either way, I believe there to be a bug with the connectivity points on the rover both on top of it, and by "daisy chaining" rovers together, as they dont share power consumption anymore [just as the front/back don't use the power sources connected to them].
  17. Summary: 0.6.1.0 - Steam - Unable to Place Items in Specific Spots (On Large Rover) Description: After the large rover was driven, a medium storage item was detached off the rover. When wanting to place anything back onto those specific two item slots the medium storage took up, the game wouldn't let you (including the medium storage detached from the rover). Note: Nothing was attached to the medium storage when removed. I apologize for not capturing any media based on this bug. Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: 0.6.1.0 Specifications: OS: Microsoft Windows x64 | v.10 10.0.16299 | Build 16299 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor GPU: Radeon RX 580 Series RAM: 8.0 GB Drive: NTFS 930.96 GB

    CAR FLOATS

So while I am playing my rovers will try to float away. but only if I am too far from them. Not like other side of the planet, but like 10 yards away. Then the wheels will fall off and reappear.
  19. Yesterday I made a big trench next to my base to park my 3 rover train into so the storm dos not flip it. Today when I opened the save everything was fine, then I built some Research chambers and I turn around to go to my rover and half of it is in the ground and a minute ago it was fine. Unfortunately I did not take a screenshot of it being spawned like that, but I have drawn a picture of how it was.
  20. Xbox one Patch: 197 3 rover train rover -rover-large rover found thruster not made just attached to side of large storage. (no hydrazine on storage) First the game crashed while getting in rover for the millionth time. Then at login when I exited rover it immediately flew away/clipped out. It however left the 3rd rover the only large in the 3 rover train.
  21. Something seems to have happened to the Large Rover, rather than make a curved turn to the left or right, it seems to want to slide in the chosen direction, making it very hard to turn around. Although by this point the game was running at 30 FPS so there may have been other problems.
  22. Why is this game still a complete fail after months? The team has had literal months to work on things and it feels like the game has regressed. Rover Handling I still cannot drive a rover without having it fly into the atmosphere and the time that I do get with the rover on the troposphere is spent trying to flip the rover over because its handling was implemented by a four year old. Crafting & Research Why can I no longer craft a tank or small battery on my backpack? Why was there no on screen notification saying that the way small batteries and tanks can be crafted has been changed? Does System Era know anything about game design? I can understand a lack of tutorials for pre alpha games but the communication of the games mechanics to the player is nonexistent. There at a minimum should be a visual menu that accompanies the tiers of research and what has and has not been researched in each tier. I have researched countless parts/rocks/plants and still cannot build a small tank or small battery. There was even a time on my current save (7/10/2017) that I could build small batteries and the ability has since been removed. The research system is disgustingly broken. The fact that I can get anything from a single compound to the research behind a habitat from research components is just flat out terrible game design. Spending half an hour excavating and bringing back a research part only for it to yield compound is nothing short of insulting. How come when I scroll through the vehicle bay options sometimes a large rover will show up even though I have not researched it? What can I do to actually get the large rover researched so it will show up in the vehicle bay every time and not just when the game bugs in my favor? Still cannot build a large rover/truck after hours of researching. Co-op How come when I join another host I can only see structures built on Terran? Structures built on literally every other terrestrial object (moons and other planets) can only be seen by the host. The cooperative tag should be removed from this game on the steam store because co-op in this game is disgraceful and simply cannot work if what is being built is invisible to me…how lame Review Maybe this game is a huge mess of physics and making changes is harder than I could ever imagine so not fixing things like the rover handling or seems in the map can be understood but structure visibility is another story. I do not know what could be so complex about making all structures visible for all players across the whole solar system. Is this something as simple as changing a visibility Boolean? What complex unsolvable algorithms could be behind something as simple as making a skin/texture visible to all the players? I know people are working on the game and it looks like System Era is a growing company but this game feels unchanged from its December release? Are the people working on the game too busy to finish it? What a pathetic display for game development industry as a hole. I apologize for my terrible attitude but my friends and I feel like we wasted our money on a half-baked game that will not see completion within any relevant time frame.
  23. Since the latest update to 182 I found that playing with other people is very difficult from a driving perspective, namely with the large rover. Issue #1 - once the large rover is researched and multiple are built, if one player exits the vehicle, it stops another player from being able to drive. Exiting and re-entering the vehicle fixes it, but it happens over an over again. Issue #2 - The large rovers flip very easily, requiring you to exit, right them and re-enter; which brings you back to issue #1. Issue #3 - Since the vehicles have been changed to not kick you out upon flipping, there have been many instances where the large rover hits a rock and goes airborne, taking you with it. The ability to tab out, doesn't work and you end up flying into space. Removing the seat resets the vehicle, and you and it fall back to the planet.
