For not starting/loading the game try, -NOSOUND (some having problems with their sound softwares and the game?) or by disabling steam (windows 10 store download works for way too many windows 10 users) For me nosound game + in fps and the current update. (win7 sp1, gtx 660, i7 3770) Seems quite a few might have problems in the CPU department. Also quite a few exp freezing by the new update insted and for some it gained fps (at least for a while).

    Crashes

    Never use a vehicle in a cave. It will lead to freezing and eventually diconecting.

    Low fps/major lag

    I play this on Xbox one. Love the game, but constantly got low fps that makes it really hard to play. This is no matter where I am on the planet or a different planet. This happens even after I start a new game. I have put less than ten ethers down and only using a smelter printer and vehicle bay. At way to improve this?

    37 Minutes

    37 minutes of game play, according to Steam, and I could only properly play a third to half of it. It started out so well, running fine, but withing 2 minutes whenever I traveled to certain areas my Sim Speed would die. I tried to take screen shot evidence, but it is difficult to record freezing game play. I will illustrate with what images I do have of my experience. Here, I walked up to this Resin deposit and I experienced one of my first Sim Speed Drops (SSD). I could not figure out what was going wrong as I had just recently depleted another resin deposit without issue. Walking up to this deposit was soon followed by freezing and me trying desperately to back peddle. Walking back in the direction I had came from to a certain distance made the game return to normal, but trying to approach again resulted the same. My second world, as I thought it was a world issue, started out almost normally, I can't recall the middle events quite that well. I walk over to a compound deposit and scoop it up in the form of a quarry, but the terrain behaved oddly as this border appeared and exhibited invulnerable traits, meaning I couldn't break it, nor could I get the remaining compound out of the wall. I gave up and went looking around and found a derelict structure. I approached the fallen starbase and one can only guess as to what I was met with. SSD and more back peddling. This screenshot illustrates the border of where the SSD begins, and approaching closer causes SSD. I never got to find out what was in the ruin. I restarted my system trying to see if that could solve the issue, but to no avail I was still stricken with SSD. I went wandering to test the extent of the SSD and it is causing my game play to be very difficult. I could not find any way around the SSD, but as I was wondering around, I stumbled upon my old quarry for the compound with the invulnerable wall only to find that it was mortal again. Testing this, it broke away like as if there was never an issue. This is the end of my illustrations, but it did get to a point where the SSD appeared even on top of my shuttle, but only on one side. I tried playing on windowed mode but to no avail it solved no problems. Please, if there is any additional information that you require that will help the devs solve these issues faster, do not hesitate to ask.

    Unplayable lag.

    Greetings! Straight to it; The game lags to such an extent I cannot play it. It seems the only fix I found thus far was -nosound in the launch options. This is no fun. I can't hear anything, the music, the cues. It completely loses any fun factor to it when it's silent. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    My game likes to lag out from not being able to delete cars/items, not too mush but I want a way to delete Items.
  8. Me and my buddy were playing and decided to build a rover. The second it spawned in after being constructed, we received an insane framerate drop and could not hook up to tethers, therefore suffocating us. The same happens with a shuttle

    Stuttering Frames

    Hey guys, I am running 16 gigs of DDR4 and a GTX970 as well as an I3-6700. My game is running steadily although every 1-2 seconds there is a quick little stutter in the fps, dropping to around 1-2 fps. Not sure where to start here. I have changed all of the settings, restarted and closed all background programs. If anyone has any suggestions or has similar problems with a similar computer, post here. Thanks.
  10. Loaded my save post patch (Dec 17) to find 'rocket' part of the trading post missing, with no ui to select materials etc and so had to build a second. Additionally experiencing the less than 20fps lag, thought -nosound, 44khz limit seem to mitigate this to be around 24fps. Using a 6 core AMD at 3.8 on OC, 3.5 base, with liquid cooling and a GTX 1080 enno3D founders edition GPU, 16gb ram and a hybrid SSD hard drive. Not using Razer synapse from past experience of interference so can confidently assume this is due to AMD issues, lack of optimisation and the trading post bug is the first one posted to my knowledge, /great game! Just a few things I have found while playing so far: When you tether together 2 or more vehicles in a convoy the frame rated drop to virtually nothing or plays ok for about 5 seconds then freezes for 10 then goes back to normal for 5 seconds only to freeze again over and over, is a pitty as I have loads of vehicles I wanted to make a convoy so i could go off to mine. Also when you set the sound levels up and exit the game the sound resets itself and you have to re do the sound again. Weird animation when using the wind turbine on the rover the battery charging canisters offsets itself from where they were situated once full they move back again so it looks normal i will take a screenshot in a bit and add it.

    game starts lagging

    Hey guys, first of all: Congratulations for a game this huge like Astroneer. Have been playing many alphas so far but this one gave me goosebumps. There is just 1 bug that annoys me a little bit. It seems that with the amount of buildings you make, the game starts lagging more and more. My "City" contains now about 20 "buildings" and it starts lagging very hard... I have a high cost gaming pc (i dont want to show off right now - im just not to sure about my specs) and this issue is bothering me quite hard. i have those lags also on other planets. Which has to be said is that these lags did NOT occure as i started playing - but they increased, as i said, with every new bulding.   13. At first the game was flawless, 120 frames almost all the time, seamless game play, and everything just worked. But after a couple of hours of playing and lots of tethering, I noticed a huge difference in performance so I restarted my game then my PC. I came back and spawn in my pod and the frames were still dreadful. I decided to check if it was being close to all the structures, so I drive out a bit in my rover and once I disconnect from the tether, The performance felt like it was at an all time high. And I realized that whenever you're connected to your tethers (which in mind you need for oxygen and energy, both vital to the expansion of the game) you drop down to 15-20 fps. This is the worst of the 3 bugs I've experienced and it would mean the world to me if the devs could figure this out. XOXO ~L3V3L
  14. After playing for around 3 hours, I have confirmed that looking around lags me and possibly other people. When I stand still, including the main menu screen, everything moves smoothly like the foliage and the sky. View distance and dxlevel settings don't change performance that much for me, and even walking in a straight line without using my mouse feels smooth. Once I look around, everything goes down to hell. I think what's related with the look lag is the amount of settings put into looking like motion blur, which was the main thing I've noticed frequently. I also think that the lighting and shaders settings contribute to the problem. If the devs prioritized selective graphical settings to be disabled and enabled like shaders and motion blur, then the game would run smoother than before, and it would feel great even with in-game bugs.

  16. Now I am not saying it's game breaking (it isn't). This seems to occur only in multiplayer currently and only when there is a minor lag spike, but the rendering of the player who joined will experience this, the terrain will glitch and you can slide underneath it.
