  1. (I would have edited, but I can't seem to) I tried to load the save again in vain. I was watching the task manager to try and force stop the game before it froze my computer, also in vain. Before I had to restart my computer the game was taking up 100% of my disk and 95% of my memory. From trying to load the save to having to restart it was about 5 minutes of the game munching my disk and memory. I don't know if that is useful information, but I would really like some answers as to why I can't play a save over a certain point. It's very frustrating that I've been having this problem on and off since launch and its always been the same. I would love to have more to add, but there is no crash since what it is doing is eating up my disk and memory. All I want to do is play the save I have the most work on and I can't...
  2. Description: I am unable to load my oldest save that is 19MB large and almost complete. Anytime I try and start up the save it causes, from what I can tell, to be some sort of memory leak to the point where I need to force stop the game or risk my computer freezing. This problem has been persisting for the longest time(previous post about it), but normally every update I've been able to manage to load the save at least once to keep playing before it won't load anymore, however not this event/update. It is extremely frustrating to have to start from scratch all the time and can't even explore without risk of this happening again. Which it does keep happening to any save that gets over a certain file size. I would really appreciate an answer as to why this keeps happening and has yet to be fixed, or how to fix it without needed to just not play a save after a certain point... I would very much like to be able to play the save I have put so many hours into so I can also play the new event with it. Platform: Steam Version / Build Number: Specifications: OS: Windows 10 Home x64 | V. 1809 | Build 17763.316 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor, 3200 Mhz GPU: Radeon 550 Series RAM: 8GB GDDR5 Drive: 1TB hard-drive. Don't know the brand or other stuff.

    Double Stuff

I've been having the same problem on my oldest save as well. It was made before the battery scrap glitch was fixed. Except for me its been duplicating the alien structures as well. I don't even know if that save can be completed now...
  4. I tried that and it did not help at all. The game still freezes well trying to load the save. I have a feeling that the very size of my save could be a factor since I can play other, smaller, save files no problem. I was trying to unlock all the gates on every planet which means I've been loading more of the planets... and if that is the reason why then that mean I'll never be able to get the achievement associated with unlocking the gates. Other then that it might have gotten corrupted some how so it can't load... I don't know... I can only guess. It just sucks to have to start from scratch with no way to speed things up.
  5. Summary: Can no longer load save. Description: I had been playing the save since release of 1.0 and have managed to nearly complete everything in that file and was working toward unlocking all the gates to get the last achievement I can with out doing multiplayer. I played for a few hours yesterday, saved and quit, but the game did not fully close on its own and I had to shut it down using the task manager, that wasn't something new, I've had to shut the game down that way a few times and was still able to play fine. However this time when I try to load up my save, the game freezes and if I don't already have the task manager up to shut it down it will cause my entire computer to freeze, because it starts to eat up my computer's memory like crazy. I know I wasn't doing anything crazy with my game and I was making sure I was cleaning up everything I could or didn't use as I was moving around to try and reduce lag and such. I was in the middle of moving base to the satellite and moved almost all my stuff to it before I closed down the game before it wouldn't load anymore, so I don't know if that could have anything to do with it. I am able to start a new game no problem, but being so close to the end and having to start over really kicks the wind out of me and makes me really not want to play the game anymore. That and I don't know if I get to that point again if it will just become unplayable again. It just says 8GB of RAM.) Drive: 1TB hard-drive. Don't know the brand or other stuff.
  6. So after a night I finally found the problem, it seems on a hidden menu on my computer it had muted the game and only the game without me knowing or doing anything. So luckily it wasn't the game after all, but now I have to figure out why my computer did that when it has never done that before, lol... You can lock this~
  7. I was playing the game fine with sounds earlier today and then I go to start the game back up and now no sounds will play. All sounds are saying they are at 100, I've checked all my audio outputs and tried to get it to run on any of those as well as a complete restart of the computer and I even deleted and reinstalled the game and still I can't get sound. The only thing I can think I did was quit the game when a storm was on my base, when I started the game back up the storm was gone and no sounds would play. Not sure if that could have anything to do with it, but as of right now nothing I've tried can get the sound to come back. I can get sound to play from other games and media on my computer, so I know it has to be something with Astroneer.
