Neurological Bronchitis

Me and my friend have started a world together and everything was working fine until I left the game and wanted to join back in. Every time I try to join back into the world it bring me to the loading screen and then says "Failed to connect to host". I have tried reinstalling the game and so has my friend, we tried turning on and off our pc, and I disconnected my Ethernet cable and put it back in. I'm out of ideas. Does anyone know a solution?
