Is there a way to transfer save files to another PC?  I play on a desktop but also would like to be able to sit back and relax/unwind and play the same game file on my laptop.  Is this possible?  If so where are the save files I can copy over?  Or is there a Steam Cloud I can activate?

    Thank you!

Cloud saves are due to come in the next update. For now you'd have to move the save files in C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Astro\Saved\SaveGames

I've played on the same save since 1.0, and I've noticed a few bugs as the save aged. But this bug messed up a few of my bases, the terrain on all of the planets reformed to how they initially generated. The new terrain is rocky and unnatural, I had to dig out a few things, but most notably my Vesania base. I'm a steam player and this happened when I loaded into my save. I'll add more photos if it's necessary.

Has it been a while since you loaded that save? This was caused by a patch, a few releases ago. It's a side effect of fixing the multiplayer 'desync' issue.

    Hi All!

I've had Astroneer for a long time b/c I had it on an old computer (downloaded through steam), but I recently got a new computer and every time I launch the game it gets to the "Loading Solar System" screen, freezes, and then crashes. I tried deleting the loading movie files and that made it load a little more, but it still crashes every time. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    My Specs are

    Windows 10

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1

    8GB RAM with 64-bit processing

Do you have a graphics card? Also, the minimum specs say laptops aren't supported. It's hit and miss that the game works at all on laptops.

SO I ran my steam in offline mode, and had none of my skins ( still had the achievements) and then all of my base's batteries were empty. Restarted computer and steam in online mode, no results. Was playing multiplayer earlier. WiFi suddenly cut out (my fault) and friend disconnected, may be part of issue.

Unlocked items are linked to your account. If you play the game with a stable internet connection, you should be able to access them again.

I've had it happen where maybe there's a blip in the wifi and the skins aren't available when I start playing but return to the menu after half an hour. There needs to be a connection to the backend servers for them to work.

Bit of an annoying way to prevent cheating I guess. They're also activating one of the limited edition skins for everyone so that might have something to do with it as the servers process the new unlocks.

Perhaps you experienced a bug? I placed some Solar panels in creative on Sylva (The planet in question ).  Everything seems to be fine.

I discovered that the above technical specs was on Sylva only (a medium sun planet).

As far as I know. you need iron to even make a shuttle to take you to another planet

You don't. Solid fuel thrusters require only aluminium and ammonium. Every planet has all the resources to build a small shuttle and a thruster, so you can never get stuck.

  7. They've been very tight-lipped about this year's plans, but...

The next major update is intended to be dedicated servers. They're working out the kinks following the recent beta.

The planets are procedurally generated, similar to nms, there's just a limited number of types, hence the lack of variation.

Automation of some kind is on the horizon.

As for walls etc, there's been talk of deploying terrain in sections but nothing too detailed.

Thank you for a good and thorough explanation. The save file is working perfectly after convertion, but my customization (suits, palettes) is not there. How can I get them?

Unlockables are linked to your profile on the various platforms, not to the saved games. Stuff unlocked on Steam will not be unlocked on MS, and vice versa.

So if you're moving between platforms you'll have to unlock the stuff on the new platform.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to download Astroneer once you're not in the United States?  I'm unable to change the country field when I'm trying to purchase the game from the website.

Astroneer is available in many countries, what exactly are you trying to do?
