    "Patch 182" - May 26, 2017

Yes, I've noticed that too, when trying to smooth out areas, the terrain tool jumps and "avoids" areas randomly, I can't smooth out the entire area. It's very weird, very frustrating. I can't record the game on my PC, but maybe someone who can record/stream and eventually runs into this problem can record this to demonstrate what's going on (unless some game streamer on YouTube has already shown this).

About that. Not only does that suck, but also the fact that you can't put what I'd call "equipment" items on the 2 top mounts on the backpack. Yes, solar panels make sense, but if I'm going underground, I'd rather equip 2 oxygen tanks up there, out of the way, or maybe even a small battery. This new limitation doesn't make sense to me. I can almost understand excluding resources from these 2 top mounts, but come on, not actual tools/equipment.

Well, even though one of the fixes was supposed to fix the issue with floating objects, it seems that it's not completely solved. The giant solar panel I dragged to base on the Radiated planet decided to take off, while my winch remained pinned to thin air and is just stuck there... I now have an orbiting, useless solar panel.

Seems to me that the design of an off-world rover/vehicle should have more clearance underneath as well, I keep bumping into tiny rocks all the time, and on long runs it becomes irritating. I do like the 4-wheel steering. I too appreciate the bug fixes, and don't mind those coming before content additions, you should never add content over unstable versions, so good job there. What I'd like to see is a way to combine partially used energy/oxygen items, maybe on the backpack itself, to save space. I've gone through 50+ Research chests and am still waiting to get the Shuttle, Space Ship and the large Solar Panel, so I need to keep using the energy scattered throughout the planet. Combining the incomplete ones into whole "portions" would be great.

Yes, at least some of them, and vehicles as well. I tried to blow up a piece of incomplete aluminum from my Smelter once. Ended up blowing up the entire Smelter...

    Screenshots Megathread

What's the record on collected "mystery" orbs/balls and/or Thrusters? I'm up to 11 Thrusters, 7 Zebra balls and 2 Checkered. Most were found on Terran, then the last few brought down from the Barren planet. Haven't made it to the other planets on this save yet, but I'm going to continue hoarding these, lol... Anyone else collecting Thrusters and/or these other balls? What's your record collection? Lets see some screenshots!

When you put it that way, it makes more sense, I didn't consider the heavy storms. I also found Sputnik down there (or a close relative, at least), so that was fun. I'm now up to 7 Thrusters and 5 Zebra balls, plus many augments from satellites (I'm becoming a bit of a hoarder, lol). Not sure if the other ball variants are still in the game, I just keep finding the same Zebra style. I'll keep looking, I'm getting ready to start a base on the Barren planet.

After 4 Zebras and 6 Thrusters, I'm thinking you're on to something, AureliYes... I like the plentiful research underground, and the massive and amazing new cave systems. Kinda strange that you'd find crash sites in caves (and so many of them); that would make them ancient, being so deep, so the tech would have been old, supposedly. But it's fun finding so much stuff. What i'm not liking (and i should point out that I've only been on Terran for this new update 158, so not sure about other planets), is the complete absence of research on the surface. Even after acquiring the truck and shuttle, I have found none on the surface, which is weird. Overall I'm still having a lot of fun with this game (even though my video card is struggling with its 1 GB memory... But an upgrade is coming).

    Astroneer FAQ

Hi, loving the game. I purchased my copy through the Windows 10 store. I understand that a new update will be coming out soon. Will I be able to update my copy through the store without having to repurchase the game, or will the game update itself automatically once the update is released? I can't wait to see the improvements, the game is looking great! Thank you.
