  1. As per the link, it seems to be about game performance. I haven't bothered watching it and cannot tell if it is worth your time or not. And as usual, no mention of it here... https://twitter.com/astroneergame/status/1103464397131804673
  2. Was posted a few days ago, haven't seen any mention of it here...
  3. I miss them too. Why remove them? Another of those strange decisions you just can't understand the logic behind it. (I know, I can craft a beacon and put it next to my vehicle when I venture out. It's not "interesting gameplay", it's a useless hassle.) And still on vehicles, why no compass when driving? Is getting out of a vehicle to determine if we are still going in the right direction "fun" and "interesting gameplay"? [end rant]
  4. No worries, discussion is healthy and good ideas/suggestions can come out of it. And re-reading myself a couple days later, my comment comes across harsh, which wasn't my intention.
  5. Scroll down this section and you'll find a long thread on storms. Reminds me a bit of alpha days when people were asking for guns to kill things. Now that I have used the G-word and the K-word I'll go stand in the corner for 5 minutes as my well-deserved punishment.
  6. You can also check reddit. More "useful" posts than you'll find here and the community is very helpful.
  7. Why insisting there should be storms, optional or not, on all planets? Would it be such a terrible thing for the starter/training planet not to have them? Piece of unsolicited advice: one of the best ways to get something you want is to be willing to make compromises. An "I want it all" approach seldom works and you risk ending up with nothing.
  8. My thoughts go in a similar direction: keep them off on the starter planet and make them optional on the other planets. And if they are optional, would players be able to toggle them on/off at will or make a choice at first landing on a planet and then have to live with their choice whenever they are on that planet?
  9. Indeed! On a new game, with no work light, exploring caves is not "will I die?" but "when will I die?".
  10. Thx! We didn't have those resource symbols last time I played about a year ago. So early in the game, it didn't occur to me to link the symbol over the socket and a specific resource.
  11. I was about to suggest the same thing. Shouldn't be too hard to implement.
  12. Found this 30 minutes into a new 1.0 game. Haven't tried to unlock yet. P.S.: Good work SES. I hadn't played or come here for almost a year and so far I am very happy with the new release.
  13. On a recent stream, there was mention of an updated roadmap coming soon. Looking at it, several items were archived on March 15. Is this the updated roadmap or just a cleanup before the update? https://trello.com/b/UoZgKrd3/astroneer-development-roadmap
  14. Steam version on Windows 10: I have a similar problem. The way around it is to remove the seat from the rover, put it back on, and then the "E" key will allow you to get into the rover and drive as you wish.
  15. Astroneer: where air is the new food! (not making fun of you, I thought the food vs. air was a good comparison)
  16. Ooops, I typed that in a hurry and forgot to paste the link https://mixer.com/Astroneer?vod=23850389
  17. The stream's title is "Night Before UpdateMas". Your guess as to what that means is as good as mine... P.S.: The stream goes on for around 2 hours, I haven't had the time to watch it and I don't know what's in it.
  18. @TrojanSteel and @Martin , thank you for your replies. There was a post on twitter to advertise the March 12 stream on Steam but I didn't check it until the next day and as I couldn't find it, I wrongly assumed it had been cancelled at the last minute. After seeing your replies, I did a bit of digging and found out that unlike what happens with Twitch or Mixer, streams on Steam are not saved and cannot be watched at a later date (which I didn't know at the time).
  19. 200% with you. Storage laying flat on the entire platform is way more practical, whether the platform is up against a wall (easier to deposit/grab items) or on the ground (can see what's on the entire storage without having to go check the other side).
  20. About those 600 who were online "last night", was it when you watched an old stream or a new stream on March 12? If the latter, where was it? I checked both twitch and mixer and there wasn't anything new since last time I went. And how did people knew he was streaming?
  21. A few days ago there was a stream on mixer and it showed the new base platforms/modules we'll get with the March update. And the new rovers too. Since I didn't see any mention of it in the forums, here's the link: https://mixer.com/Astroneer?vod=22966640 Ranty Part: @SES, It's not the first time I have to rely on Twitter to find out about streams (Twitch or Mixer) that weren't advertised here on the forums. If I only relied on the forums here for information, I'd feel like a second class citizen. It's great that you post notices on Twitter but not everybody has the time, or inclinati
  22. A few extra tips for newcomers to this forum: Your base is at the equator and the thick band of stars marks the equator. Knowing that may help you find your way back. Check the position of the sun in the sky (it rises west and sets east). As you drive, when your base beacon is almost on the horizon, create a 45-ish degree ramp pointing to your base and place a beacon at the top. Repeat procedure when that beacon is almost out of sight.
