    Is this a joke?

Talk about a mess.. First time upto the purple thing.. Crash to desktop..lost like 3-4 hours of play due to not saving. Get to purple thing dig out 3 sockets, connect something to socket, platform rises.. figure maybe i need to stand on platform.. Oh no.. don't do that. Stands on platform, connects to socket, boom, inside the platform, stuck. Can't escape, on oxygen because of tether, can't die. Completely screwed. Can't quit game without saving.. Like seriously? Had to Alt Tab, and exit manually, to stop save being overwritten. You guys have had plenty of time.. and you gave games away to morons on youtube and they didn't spot this shit.. and now you have a buggy mess to deal with. Seriously.. add a quit "without" saving option.. In fact if you're gonna keep adding bugs like this that ruin longterm not saving gameplay.. add an autosave.

How to at least double your cargo?

Congrats, you've now doubled all the objects you don't need in your game. Just remember not to complain when you start to lag out.

    Storms

Usually i get in trouble to making those sorts of thoughts.. glad i'm not to blame this time around.

    Storms

Oh i completely agree. On the bangers and mash front.. no seriously, I'd prefer not to have "kill storms" but I could see their viability.. that said, wind storms can kill you as can fog etc.. the speed I drive at in astroneer.. i am often shooting off into very deep holes in the fog on exotic moon.

    Storms

Whilst I understand that this is likely ment as a sarcastic joke, it isn't as funny as you might think. Nor something you should with thought, be suggesting, even as a joke. And yes, I could just report the post and complain, but I feel a softer approach is preferred. Skin Cancer is no laughing matter.

    Storms

Storms needed to be reworked. The standard boxes in ur face is fine for an ea, but it was just tedious after awhile. And yeh, you can just ignore them by going underground or even in most cases just standing behind something to block the ups boxes. Ideally we need storms that can kill you outright, slow you down a little sometimes or just act as a visual impairment. The weather ideas ses are working on sounds like the right route. Maybe with something harsher tossed in randomly. But to demand that everyone pays the price of a few who liked having the storms is just as ignorant a demand as from all those who objected to them. Although I do agree that a switch in menu could be a nice direction to go in as well. in my general opinion, weather and storms, even seasons in games, should be a must for games in this day n age. Esp in these genres.
  7. Yep terrain 2.0 is definitly broken in places. There's missing terrain textures, splits in the terrain allow you to see floating resources etc. The general terran surface terrain can be abit random, I've had games with endless plains, with almost no mtns at all, others just put mountains and great holes everywhere. I completely agree with the op. Terrain 1.0 on Terran was a much nicer generation, but I'd also agree that the other planets are generally quite nice generations as well, except maybe terrans moon which I don't really like at all.

If anything this should be under suggestions.. I wasn't reporting the crashes as bugs. Although I have now made seperate bug reports for the crashes and getting stuck.

    Is this a joke?

I think it's hilarious that people actually think we'd all just exploit it to save loosing stuff in a death.. like get a grip. Are you really going to run around for an hour.. fall in a hole and die, then exit without saving to loose an hours gameplay.. rather than run out to your corpse, pick up your stuff and carry on? You can already alt tab and exit manually or even, if you only have astroneer running just hit Alt F4 and quit without saving. So why not have a process in the menu to do it safely? To have the software quit safely without possible corruptions? From what I can see of the possible objections.. there aren't any. Just accusations that anyone who did this is a cheater.. not someone who's gotten stuck in the game and is unable to get unstuck.
  10. No news.. is bad news. What's going on? Is 1.0 around some dusky corner or.. are we just waiting...

    Is this a joke?

So you actually think people should save, just incase the game crashes? What is that, some kind of new world order, lets wear a crash helmit in bed incase someone throws a brick through my window attitude? I should be able to play a released game for 10-12 hours without saving and not expect it to crash. As it was.. I had 2 crashes in the first 30 seconds of gameplay. And not saving the game, shows the addictiveness of the gameplay.. so really, it's a good thing. If you think about it. Not that I expect you to. As for the rest of ya who also can't read or think.. get knotted. I'd like a quit without saving option. I can alt f4 and I can alt tab and manually exit, so there is no valid argument for not having it in menu options. Although alt f4 can be abit buggy if you have multi apps running.

    Is this a joke?

XXX I bought an EA. If this bug was in the EA I would have reported it. It is now in the officially released version. Not the Ea.. I'm not here to report bugs in an official version, I don't care if it's not been tested, I don't care that I got stuck inside the purple thing.. what I don't like is being forced to alt tab and manually close the program because no exit without saving function exists in the game. Alt F4 doesn't always work..

    Is this a joke?

This is a released game.. not an ea.. so there's the door rebel whatever.. As for dealing withit.. the buggy purple thing.. not the problem.. try comprehending the message.. Not being able to exit without saving.. is a problem, if we encounter bugs in the game. Now kindly.. off.
  14. Hope they clean up the forums, to remove bad info based off the older versions. And bug reports that no long have any importance.
  15. Cool stuff, thanks for update mate. Was beginning to wonder if all that radiation on the coast or their proximity to portland had somehow wrecked the release of the game..

    So the new moon..

No vampires here.. I was wondering how they'd marry up the new moon with the old game, turns out it won't be part of the old game. ie you won't create a game then be able to travel to the new moon. Instead, they're planning on adding the new moon with terrain 2.0 via the customisation/load/create game wheel, ie a button next to the tutorial. So we'll essentially get access to a single world moon in t2.0 and if you want to fly space ships, you'll need to save/exit and make a new game or load an old save. Else wait for the full release in Dec.

game now impossible to do anything

Yeh the tutorial is kinda broken. Just play the game. Learn as you go, ask us questions if you have any.

    New updates are... Somewhat concerning.

It's the full release of the game, with all content in place incl terrain 2.0 However, there's still content to be added after release listed in the road map.
  19. Don't say I didn't warn you. But this is a bad idea. You guys I realise are "in it for the money" we're "in it for the fun". Many of you are still just children to many of us. But I would strongly suggest you test the game with at least a few hundred trusted players rather than just ignore all of our opinions. Because you think you know better. I've seen many games, big companies flop, because of this one specific mistake. This is the kind of mistake that saw Sony Games go into bankruptsy. Everquest went from No1 world wide game to like No 99. Overnight due to this specific mistake. Other software houses didn't even make it out of the door, having spent millions only to discover the game sucked on release due to a small group of developers wanting to hold back on release content. When this EA started, Adam promised us, you wouldn't be like Hello Games and No mans sky type anti hype.. but it seems you suffer from the same disease. Hope it doesn't fail.

    New updates are... Somewhat concerning.

I asked a similar stupid question, which turned out to be under the F1 options as well. There are on going issues with the development of the game which I do find confounding, there seems to be little planning in their roadmap nor in their updates. It's almost random what turns up. Take other sites like Ark or Wow or Starwars games, they put a post in a week or so before, letting people know whats in development, that it'll be added soon and explain any changes. SeS just fire stuff in and leave it to the punter to work out what's changed and then maybe a day or so later an update arrives in the forums. When he started the thread, I thought maybe since he'd had the game since dec 17 there'd have some fresh insights in opinion, but, basically it turned out to be the same ole same ole. The game sucks because.. thread. Part of development of games or any software is updating key elements of the game code and engine, when this happens, you have no choice but to start a "new game" because the new code just isn't compatible with the old saved data. Also as a tester, most of us know that when a new build is available, we need to start a new game to test progression start to finish, otherwise serious bugs and glitches can be missed. So the age old complaint of "I hate having to restart my games" is a moot argument. They simply cannot update the game without the issue occurring. They could however, have warned people in advance. So they knew that it would require a new game when it turned up, not been taken by surprise, when they next played.

I don't know about this 'scrap' thing.

Yeh and as I've learned from a few convos on discord, many of the main commentors don't even own the game. Seems ses are more interested in brown nosing than the opinions of their own customers.
  22. There seems to be a pervading opinion that we're expecting to see the "moon" released for pax in the last patch. I haven't seen any specific mention but I don't watch discord 24/7 or send a dozen private msgs to devs to try to improve my apparent community standing. So I honestly don't know what we'll get, tbh.. I'm carefree.. happy with whatever turns up. And willing to wait until release 1.0 for everything that comes out then as well.

I don't know about this 'scrap' thing.

Regarding grind, I honestly think that what many people refer to as "grind" is what they force upon themselves. I remember back in the day playing Everquest, people would "grind" kill order missions, ie kill 20 rabbits, kill 20 lizards etc bring 20 tails for xx rewards. They caused the game to become grindy, by themselves, it wasn't the fault of the game. You often got alot of money from just playing the game, ie exploring and doing the quests once.. and not trying to find short cuts to being a millionaire. It takes work, alot of hard work and hard work is essentially, grind. That's life.. you want the big house, the fancy car, the big boat.. you have to grind for it. Or just live your life (play the game) and you'll probably get all of those things in due time anyway. It's exactly the same in all games.. grind is eye of the beholder stuff.. most people are themselves solely to blame for any perceived grind.
