I'm at the point of opening the first core of the first planet, and ... the user interface on the vehicle mining drill is SO laughably terrible and difficult to control, especially for underground mining, that I want to take my keyboard and beat my monitor into a pile of scrap. No first person driver seat view, the game saves when I don't want it to, there is only one game save slot... I've already violated the EULA multiple times by figuring out ways to hack it so I can quit without saving (posted it here, even), or by overriding their one-save-game-file policy (posted that, too). If SystemEra wants to revoke my ASTRONEER / Steam game license because I'm now also poking around under the hood like this, by merely running what basically amounts to an UNZIP tool, fine. This game's user interface and play experience just sucks in so many irritating ways, I won't really miss it if the game license were revoked. I will provide my steam account name to a forum moderator on request. But I can't do anything about what has been posted. This forum does not allowing editing or deletion of your own posts or threads. It's up to a moderator to do that.
  3. The pictures are date and time stamped in sequence found a vein of lithium on Vesania, mined a bit of it out, but left some untouched. Also left behind 1 to verify the spot, and to see if everything disappears. Went top side which is really just one layer up, saved and exited out of the game. When I came back to that spot, the 4th image is what I saw. Everything I left behind was gone, except for the one unit that was dropped. Included save file, didn't know if it would help.   4. Okay, I think this might've gone too far since you're decompiling the PAK file. Unsurprisingly this is against the EULA as it allows cracked versions of the game -- this is also why there isn't a modding community as you could definitely mod the game with a decompiled PAK. I'm not a dev or a moderator but I just wanted to let you know that this might not be the best idea without permission from the moderators or devs.

    Shuttle Bug

    We also in multiplayer with multiple players same problem. Minimum one (except host) can not leave the shuttle after the shuttle flight or even see the backpack contents. Rejoin the Game fixes the problem temporarily. Please fix it. Thank you
  10. Hey, my friend and I got the same thing. He was the host, I was the guest. I have a bug sometimes where I see players marker far too big when I'm in a rocket. When this happen I can't do anything and my only solution is to leave the game and come back. So the bug came when I was in space with the rocket. I had to disconnect to do something. And now when I try to reconnect, I just have a loading time and I'm back to the main menu so I can't join the game. My friend can't invite me either. Platform: steam Version: 1.0.15.0

    We still have the very same problem too since release. The cause of the bug is unlikely of a bad internet connection, cause in our case we all play on the same (good enough) connection. I mean I would understand it if the terrain desyncs would not be permanent. When some terrain is modified and the host does not really get it and it pops back once, okay, this can happen due to some laggy connection, but the terrain keeps popping back again and again. So there must be some major glitch somewhere in the netcode. Something which prevents the correct update of terrain data from the client to the host. Some complex and mysterious bugs can happen. And I have no problem with that. But we really, really want to play astroneer together xD. I would really appreciate the option to fall back to an older (and at least for us) more stable version of the game. I'd love to play Astroneer together with my friends with all the exciting new stuff that came with and after 1.0 release, but it's not a must have. For us it is more important that we can play together with as few bugs as possible or in other words have a playable experience in multiplayer at all. So pleeeeeeeease, give us an option for an older version as long as there are such gamebreaking bugs and glitches in the current version.
  12. So if you try landing on ground that you flattened out and/or heightened for a better look, the shuttle will automatically launch back up into space, wasting your fuel.

    Patch 1.0.15 - April 11, 2019

    Please fix this: After modifying terrain when passing over with the tractor, if I park it in modified terrain it sinks into the ground and disappears. I have already lost 2 tractors and 6 trailers. In addition to losing the oxygen supply, I died and I lost all the items I had in my backpack and in the trailers.

  15. As of 1.0.15, I really hope this bug gets fixed soon or in the next update, these stutters give me painful headaches and make me motion sick making the game unplayable for me. I've got motion sick from certain things like VR or roller coasters, but never from stuttering games because I've never had a game stutter long and frequent enough. I just wanna spend 1,000+ hours lost on a planet with no way home.
  16. Spoilers may be listed below. Read at own risk. I am playing on patch 1.0.15 on Steam with mouse and keyboard. I've placed each Geometric Triptych in each corresponding slot and all of the rings on the Gateway Portal are spinning. I went up to the final Odd Stone in the center of the platform and it displayed the usual "press F to activate" message. Did so but nothing happened. Tried just using the mouse to click on the stone (as you can do with other Odd Stones), but my astroneer just points at it. I tried backing further away and trying to activate it and tried getting up close, at all angles. Nothing seems to work. I tried zoning to a different planet and back and tried exiting the game and coming back. Nothing helped. Thank you.

When a canister containing soil is placed on the same platform as a Soil centrifuge, it is automatically transferred to the soil centrifuge to empty the soil contents of the canister into the centrifuge module's internal soil buffer. This functionality is great, but has a minor flaw. A canister which has just been emptied in this way will be replaced by another canister containing soil, to continue filling the centrifuge until the centrifuge is full. However, once the centrifuge is full, an empty canister is left on the centrifuge's canister slot (assuming that two full canisters were used). While I understand that this is done to facilitate the storage of a partially filled canister on this slot while the centrifuge is in use, it has a major downside on the quality of life while using the centrifuge with large batches of soil. As the empty canister is left on the centrifuge, a slot on the medium storage from which the canister was taken is now empty, allowing the contents of the centrifuge operation to empty into this slot instead of the canister, which is still on the centrifuge slot. This means that the canister and items must manually be moved around, which is annoying for bulk centrifuge operations. My suggestion is to add functionality for the centrifuge to eject empty canisters from the centrifuge slot to other platform slots. This would allow for complete separation of canisters and centrifuge products, allowing for easier and more efficient use of the module. Current Result: Desired Result: Thank you to SES for all your hard work, and I hope that you will consider my suggestion for implementation.
  19. Okay, well, I decided I wanted to poke around inside the game assets to see if I could figure out how to obtain console access. Step 1: MAKE A COPY of the game program folder and put it somewhere else, ZIP it, whatever. All of the following will get borked when Steam finds that an update is available. The game assets are here: \Steam\SteamApps\common\ASTRONEER\Astro\Content\Paks\Astro-WindowsNoEditor.pak , This needs to be extracted, basically decompressed, but it is a weird file format custom to Unreal Engine 4. There is no common everyday decompression tool for this. Have to use l33t h4ck3r t00l, called QuickBMS.... http://quickbms.com Additionally you need to find a script file for QuickBMS that tells it how to decompress UE4 pak files. The script file is named unreal_tournament_4.bms , QuickBMS shows a bunch of weird stuff while extracting. , Once you have extracted the PAK, it gives you two directories named "Astro" and "Engine". Merge the "Astro" folder with "\ASTRONEER\Astro" Merge the "Engine" folder with "\ASTRONEER\Engine" Remove the PAK file from "\ASTRONEER\Astro\Content\Paks" , You now have access to all the raw game files. Make a second copy of this "\ASTRONEER" folder and store it somewhere safe. If a new update is released, Steam will scan through your hacked game directory and muck it up, and then says "hmm there is no PAK file" and redownloads it again.. hence the need to keep a copy of your extraction work somewhere else. , Also it seems the game is doing something weird to prevent me from running the modified game outside of the Steam install location. If I take the "SteamApps\common\ASTRONEER" folder, rename it to "SteamApps\Common\ASTRODERP" and then try to run ASTRO.EXE inside, Steam will pop up a warning that it could not find the game directory, and may attempt to redownload it again. So fine, the hacked version has to be the main game install directory.   20. So I have recently purchased (from the windows store) and installed the game on my Windows 10 computer. When I first opened it a sort of cut scene played before the menu and I closed the game before it was finished so now when I load up the game it gets stuck at the beginning part. Even after countless reinstalls it still does it every single time. I can turn my camera and play around with my backpack but I cannot start a new game or see the menu.

    Yeah, you have to have the oxygenator for tethers to connect to anything.

    Even when it's just me hosting and a remote client (not Talleh), same problems happen, so it can't be the fact that there's two of us on the same connection. The remote client is on 50/(20?) mbps.

    To add to the issues listed above, cables between rover and trailer will sometimes just break (client only, again, host is fine). Always fun seeing your friend coming back and asking what happened to their 3rd trailer.

    Shuttle Bug

    Hi there. Several times as a client on a Co-Op game, I've had problems attempting to land a shuttle. Leaving a planet and selecting a new planet to orbit work as normal but after flying to the new planet graphically glitches. I am unable to see or select a landing place or any planet features (see attached). Attempting to hit C or V to launch somewhere else does nothing even with fuel to move. The only way out of this is to exit the game and relaunch. However, upon relaunching you are prompted to reconfirm character settings and are sent to Sylva. I've attached screen shots of the planet from the point of being stuck.
  26. While left clicking and holding and then right clicking to adjust the camera then releasing right click causes the screen to be locked to your mouse as if you still right clicking until you stop left clicking.

    Multiple Multiplayer issues

    Been having this issue since 1.0, entirely client-side, everything works fine for the host Does NOT appear to be due to any form of latency or network issue. The exact same spots will be "desynced" every time we load up the same save. On the surface it is most often only a "spotty shell" orbiting an area of terrain (As in the photo in OP). The "shell" can be dug through, but will pop back in after a few seconds. The terrain underneath can still be dug as normal. Under the terrain there is the occasional large chunk of desynced terrain, all of which will respawn after a few seconds
